「 CHAPTER 14: Get Stronger 」
Kayden sat on the edge of the bed with both of his hands on his face. His brain started to hurt and ached, he couldn't think of what to do because he knew that the [ SP ] system was crucial for him to get stronger.
He suddenly went quiet, his breathing got steady, and his face became stony and hardly be seen because of the dark room.
Suddenly, he stood up, raised his hand, and extended his index finger. With no time wasted, he started tapping his Status Window distributing his [ SP ].
"Why do I have to think too hard about this?" he said as his eyes shifted faster while tapping the window.
After a moment, Kayden suddenly went to a halt and sat again on the bed. He wiped off the sweat on his forehead and let out a relieved "phew". He stared at his status window and smiled. "With this... I'm now stronger." He said to himself.
Kayden lay down on his bed and laughed. "HAHAHA! I can't believe this is happening!" he said as he laughed out of joy.
Then all of a sudden, knocks came from the door. Kayden stood up from the bed and opened the door, and there he saw Trish standing, patiently waiting for Kayden.
"Hi! I was wondering when will you teach me to be stronger?" she asked. Trish unconsciously looked down to Kayden's stomach and saw his abs. "Oh my..." Trish thought to herself as she covered her mouth with her hand, flustered.
"Huh? Oh yeah! But why so early in the morning?" he replied. Trish looked at Kayden with confusion. "Early? Morning?" she asked. "It's midday!" She yelled to Kayden.
Confused, Kayden went out of his hut and looked at the sky while covering his eyes from being blinded. "Oh yeah, you're right." He said in a quiet voice. Kayden scratched his head as he thought the sun barely rose up and went back.
As Kayden walked by Trish to get inside the hut, Trish whiffed a bad odor coming from him. "Hey!" she gagged. "You might look amazing but you stink!" she yelled to Kayden while covering her nose.
Kayden glanced indefinitely at Trish and closed the door on her. He then raised his arms and sniffed his armpit. "Damn!" he said from the reek of his armpit. "I need to get a bath."
...
...
...
Moments later on the same day, Kayden started training Trish on the outskirts of the Camp. She was trembling, barely holding the short sword Kayden gave her.
"This is.. super heavy.." she said as she struggled to hold the blade steady. "Heavy? that's like carrying five textbooks in a bag. Not that heavy." He replied.
Kayden's eyes widened as he thought of a good idea to greatly help Trish.
"Trish, stop it let's do something different." He told her. She breathed relief as she let go of the blade. "What is it this time?" she asked. Kayden smiled and Trish felt shivers down her spine.
A little while later, Kayden and Trish are heading north through the dark tall forest.
"Wow, I never went this far from the camp."
Trish thought to herself while she looked around as they walked. "It's beautiful, right?" Kayden asked. She looked at Kayden and replied. "What is?" She looked away and looked straight ahead and witnessed the beauty of the forest much like how Kayden first saw its beauty.
"I-it's beautiful. It's like I'm in a fa---" "Like in a fantasy world right? Like in the movies." Kayden said after interrupting Trish.
While both of them were awestruck by the beauty of the forest, Kayden heard noises of screeching and screaming from the distance.
Kayden tapped Trish and said. "Shh! I heard something." The noises began to echo around the forest. "Stay quiet, your real training starts now." He said. They then both tracked down where the noises were coming from and they saw a campsite. It was a goblin's campsite.
"Three Goblins and one Hobgoblin" Kayden hid quietly behind the tree after counting the enemies. "W-what a-are t-those?! Are those Goblins!?" Trish asked while her voice trembled from fear. Kayden nods.
"You're telling me.. that my real training is killing those things!?" She asked quietly with anger. Kayden nods. "I'll take care of the Hobgoblin, you're task is to eliminate those three Goblins." He replied. "Are you serious!?" she said furiously.
Kayden breathed out a quiet sigh. "You asked me to make you stronger, and now I am. So do what I tell you to do." He said and looked straight and seriously into Trish's eyes. " Your training isn't just eliminating multiple enemies, but also experiencing taking something else's life.
That's how I'm gonna make you stronger, I'm gonna help you adapt to this world faster than anyone else." Trish became frozen from fear.
She could not process the thought of seeing a creature she'd usually see behind the screen and yet killing multiple of them.
Sudden memories of her friend flashed before her eyes. Her fist started clenching hard and started bleeding. "Right, I promised that I'm gonna get stronger so I could protect those people, because I couldn't protect you, Shina."
The Goblins began acting strangely and started sniffing as if they smelled something delicious.
Kayden was alerted. "Shit! I think they smell us!" He thought to himself. He looked at Trish and saw her hand dripping with blood. Kayden began to slowly approach her. "Shit! Trish!" he whispered.
But before he could reach her, a goblin jumped behind her out of nowhere. "Fuck! I had my guard down!" He thought to himself seeing Trish frozen and defenseless.
Right before the Goblin takes a bite of Bianca's shoulder...
* STAB *
* SPLAT *
"Eeek..!"
Its head was suddenly stabbed by a blade from the chin piercing its way through the head.
Kayden was stunned by what he saw, In that brief moment before the goblin took a bite, Trish grabbed her blade and stabbed it in such a short amount of time. Kayden was shocked and confused as to what he saw.
"W-What in the fuck was that!? It's clear that she's just frozen in place... b-but h-how!? what!?" Clear confusion can be seen on his face.
* SHING! *
Trish tore her blade free from the Goblin's head. "S-she did it in an instant, It's as if... it was... natural." he pondered to himself.
"A person's class and skills are determined by their way of living and belief before they got transported, so how could she move like that!?" Kayden thought to himself with disbelief.
Trish soon stood up. Kayden looked at her and was screaming quietly at her. "Trish! What the hell happened?! How did yo-" Before Kayden could finish his words he was surprised to see that, Trish had her eyes closed and was in a trance.
Her body was moving out of control by instincts, I could tell because I faced numerous people like this before.
Trish stepped back into the Tree's shadow and disappeared as if she was swallowed by darkness. Kayden's heart sank.
"T-That... W-what the fuck." He muttered to himself, unable to think of what to say and what to react to the things happening before him.
"She's a... She's a fuckin'..." Trish's tranced body begins lurking in the Goblin's shadow and killing them one by one. "S-She's an... assassin..."
