「 CHAPTER 16: Interesting Person 」
After hearing Trish's story, I understood her situation and who she truly was. I did not expect such a pretty girl like her to have such a dark and rough background. I looked at Bianca who went quiet and had her head down.
"So, you just tricked me into thinking that you were scared the other day when I threatened you, and you pretended to struggle to lift a small sword?"
Her face remained unreadable, her eyes shifting away every time I tried to meet them, guilt written in her avoidance. With all my strength, I stopped the urge to just stab her with my dagger.
"So that explains your assassin-like skills earlier." She looked at me with visible confusion on her face. "Huh? assassin-like skills?" Tilting her head and eyebrows furrowed.
"You don't remember?" Trish shook her head, raising her shoulders in a helpless shrug.
I groaned and pinched the bridge of my nose. Trish broke herself free from the ropes, threw it far away, and sat comfortably on the log across mine.
"You're stressing me out." I sighed and explained what happened to her. Her face went pale and she froze from shock at what happened. As I thought, she was not in control of her body because she was lost inside her head, and her body moved out of crazy instincts and reflexes. What a scary girl she is...
After clearing all of the misunderstanding, we heard more noises coming from the dark and decided to go back to the Camp.
"Jump on my back, I'll carry you, It'll be much faster." Trish looked at me with disgust on her face. "Huh!? No!?"
She started leaping from tree to tree and avoiding the enemies at the same time. I immediately followed her and used the Ring of Teleportation to avoid the enemies lurking in the dark.
After a while of running away, we eventually made it to the Camp. Tired, Trish decided to head back to her place and get some sleep. We parted ways and I went back through the forest to train and earn some experience.
[ Day 3/7 ]
The dark and starry sky slowly disappeared as the sun rises, It is now dawn. I just finished training, my clothes are partially ripped while my pants are in some what good condition. My body was covered in blood of the enemies I hunted the past hours. Their lifeless bodies piled over at a single spot for I have a use for them later.
I did not feel a single bit or fatigue or tiredness, I feel like I could fight all day. I decided to take a break from killing and wandered deep into the forest.
While mindlessly wandering I came upon a river and took a bathed in it. I washed the blood off my body and relaxed as I sat down on the water covering my legs.
The smell of blood running across the stream attracted many monsters, I felt frustrated so I killed every single one of them and took a bath again in the cold fresh water of the river.
The rising sun, illuminated the dark forest with it soft golden sunlight that passes through the tiny gaps of the leaves making many small streaks of light, making the surroundings astonishingly beautiful.
When my fingers began to wrinkle, I exited the water and dried myself. I opened my Inventory and reached out for a bunch of cloths stitched together as a towel.
After taking a fresh bath, I roamed around the forest a little more and killed all the monsters I see. With this, I feel more assured that no monsters will come for the Camp.
After hunting for monster I began to get hungry as my stomach screams for food. Due to the curse of the ring, ever since It latched on to me, I've been eating monster meat.
This curse will make me vomit if I try to eat regular animal meat. The only meat I can eat are monster meat. But it's a good thing I can still eat vegetables.
I set up camp near the pile of monster corpses and begin roasting them on top of the fire. I held the meat by its bone once it finished cooking, It's thoroughly cooked inside and out. It doesn't look appetizing and people would think I'm a lunatic if they see me like this but, due to the curse, these meat tastes heavenly.
Bones piled behind me as I kept eating and eating due to my high metabolism. After I ate a hefty amount of meat, I wandered a bit more, waiting for my stomach to fully digest all the food I ate. After a while, I feel refreshed and now was the time to head back at the Camp.
I went to the School Head's hut to give him all the monster bones I have.
"Find someone who can make tools or weapons out of this, It'll be helpful."
I opened my Inventory and took out all of the bones, fur, ruster swords and more and gave it all to him. Eugene looked flabbergasted.
"W-what's all of these?" He looked at me with clear confusion on his face.
"I just told you–never mind that. I have something to tell you."
"Huh? What is it kid?" He opened his
Inventory and took all of the trash I gave him.
"Someone saw me kill Lars." Eugene abruptly stopped from collecting and his face went pale.
"Don't worry she's a friend. Or atleast she is now... I think. Anyway I want you to have people watching her constantly—no better yet, I'm gonna have her work for you–"
"Wait wait wait! What the hell are you talking about?! Someone saw you kill Lars!?"
"...Yuh? I literally just said that. Don't stress about it, you're already balding so don't make it worse."
"Her name's Trish. Your elites of whatever should be able to easily find her."
"You didn't kill her!?"
"Huh? No! Why would I? Plus, she's very skilled purely without the use of her skills due to her background, I wouldn't be able to kill her that easily."
" What? Why? What's her background?"
"She was raised as a spy and an assassin."
"... HUH!?"
"Shh! Keep it down you're so loud!"
"Are you serious?!"
"Yeah I can confirm it, her skills are the real deal."
" *Sigh* My god...this is giving me a head ache."
"Don't."
This kid... he must think it's a joke. Eugene thought to himself.
"So? What do you want to do with her? You didn't kill her or fought her, so there must be a reason right?"
"Yeah. I'll train her. She has perfect raw skills as an assassin and a spy but that won't be enough for her to survive in this world."
" *Sigh* At this point I don't know if you're crazy or stupid.
"I'm both actually."
