Chapter 7 - The Opened Coffin

"You okay kid?"

Through the rear-view mirror, the nurse asked Jiang Feng about his condition as she noticed him seemingly lost in his own thoughts. Pulled back by her voice, Jiang Feng lifted his head up and smiled back.

"I'm fine, just feeling a little hungry." Jiang Feng replied

"I see. Well, you better fill it up quick lest you faint again. You have anyone else back at home? Just so you know, I'll ensure your death if you make me drive back here to check on you again." The nurse asked as she cracked a joke.

"That's scary. There are a few maids that can take care of me back at home. Not sure if my mom went out, but she should still be there." Jiang Feng said.

"That's good. Ah, we're here."

As the ambulance came to a halt, the nurse got off and pulled open the door as she extended her hand towards Jiang Feng. Grabbing onto that thin yet reassuring arm, Jiang Feng carefully got off the vehicle and thanked the nurse for the ride.

Sending her off, Jiang Feng proceeded to walk through the gates. His entrance caught the attention of Aunt Lee who happened to be sweeping nearby as she walked over to him.

"Are you okay, Young Master Jiang Feng? I just saw you got off that ambulance, it can't be that your lack of sleep is starting to take a toll on your body, right?"

Bombarding him with these questions, Aunt Lee's eyes swept up and down on Jiang Feng as she tried to look for any abnormalities. Seeing how she was this worried for him, Jiang Feng lightly shook his head and explained what happened to her.

Of course, he left out the part about the mysterious coffin and the leaking gas originating from it, as well as the part where his heart stopped breathing for a few seconds. He knew that this should be best kept secret unless necessary.

"You fainted suddenly? How are you feeling now then?"

"I'm fine. Things should be okay once I take a short nap. If there's nothing else, I'll head in now." Jiang Feng said as he walks over to the door.

"Head straight to bed immediately, okay? Madam will be worried if such things keep on happening to you." Aunt Lee replied. Seeing that the doors was closed shut, she released a sigh of relief before returning back to work.

8 PM.

Sitting up from his bed with a groan, Jiang Feng switched on the room's light as the shine blinded him in an instant. Taking his time to get accustomed to the sudden brightness, he got off his bed and reached for his phone placed at the edge of his table.

"3 hours, huh…guessed it must've been due to the lack of sleep. Dinner should be served by now, right?"

Scratching the back of his head, Jiang Feng look outside his windows as the night sky gave his still sleepy mind a gentle wake up.

"Jiang…Feng…"

Just as he was about to peek further into the stars, a familiar woman's voice called his name from behind. Turning around in an instant, Jiang Feng was stunned to find his surroundings has changed once again.

The ancient coffin appeared as expected in front of him, but something different had occurred. The lid was open and the ground was already filled with the mysterious white gas. A light shade of red could also be seen moving amidst, as if it's a living entity.

"Jiang…Feng…"

Being called once again, Jiang Feng turned towards the opened coffin. His face turned pale white immediately after doing so.

"Wha-what the heck?"

Staring at the edges of the coffin, Jiang Feng saw a creepy hand grabbing onto it. The skin was snow white and seemed smooth from afar, akin to the hand of young woman. However, it's nails weren't there.

To be more specific, it seemed like it was recently cut by its owner.

Before he could think more about the hand, another appeared as it grabbed onto the edges with a loud bang. The loud sound startled Jiang Feng awake from his thoughts as he took a step back subconsciously.

However, when he lifted his head up to see what had happened, he found himself back in his room. Looking around, Jiang Feng found no trace of that creepy place or the mysterious coffin. Just as he was about to continue with his search for the second time, his door was knocked.

"Who is it?" Jiang Feng asked.

"It's me, Young Master Jiang Feng. Madam and Sir are waiting for you to have dinner downstairs." Aunt Lee's voice sounded.

"Hold on, I'm coming out right now."

Taking one last look at his room and noticing nothing different, Jiang Feng decided that he'll continue on later as he took a step outside his room. After greeting Aunt Lee, the two walked down the stairs together as they talked about his condition.

In a corner near the cabinet in Jiang Feng's room, a small mist the size of a tennis ball was slowly dissipating. The red shade that Jiang Feng saw earlier was also present in this small ball of mist as it circled around in it like a snake.

It then stopped in the center as its shape turned into a woman whose hair reached the waist. The face couldn't be seen as it was too blurry, but one thing that could be sure of, was that the woman was smiling at the door that Jiang Feng just left through.

"We will meet soon, my-"

Before the woman could finish her sentence, she and her voice disappeared along with the dissipated ball of mist. All of this happened in a short moment, as it left no trace behind for Jiang Feng to track.
