"Young Master Jiang Feng, here's your meal."
Placing the fresh bowl of noodles as well as the fried dumplings next to it, Aunt Lee bowed at him once before leaving him alone in the dining room.
Putting away his phone, Jiang Feng started digging in as his slurping noises filled the room. The noodles' aroma also filled the air, enticing anyone that was in the room to have an intense urge to have the same thing immediately.
After emptying the bowl, Jiang Feng took a short moment to digest as he sipped on the tea brought in by Aunt Lee when she served him his lunch. He then proceeded to finish the plate of fried dumplings remaining.
Letting out a burp, Jiang Feng wiped his mouth with the napkin provided as he took out his phone to check on the time.
"Hmm, two-thirty…guess I'll start packing things and leave afterwards." Jiang Feng murmured as he stood up from his seat.
Heading back to his room, Jiang Feng took out a backpack from his cabinet and started filling things he needed for the exploration he was having later. Looking at the box of snacks placed under his table, he hesitated for a little before taking out a handful of it and shoved it straight into his backpack.
'They'll be gone before the others show up anyway.' Jiang Feng thought as he gave himself an excuse for almost emptying the box.
…
Standing outside the door, Jiang Feng put his shoes on as he took the umbrella placed next to the door in a corner. Although the rain was not as stormy as earlier, it is still quite heavy. He didn't want to risk getting sick, less making his parents worried for him.
'I guess I should put on the jacket now.'
Having the thought in his head, Jiang Feng then walked into the nearby bus stop as he placed his backpack down and took out his jacket. Once he was done putting it on, he grabbed the umbrella on the ground as he walked out into the rain again.
Walking straight without turning for about 10 minutes or so, Jiang Feng's figure stopped as he stood underneath a small roof to hide from the rain. Staring at the huge wooden door before him, he saw two thick iron rings at where the handle was supposed to be at and hanging board above him that wrote 'Jiang Family's Ancestral Cemetery'.
"Looks like I've arrived." Jiang Feng said to himself.
Without turning to look at the tall stone wall that was surrounding the cemetery, Jiang Feng lightly knocked on the wooden door as a sign of respect to his ancestors before pushing it open.
Once he was in, Jiang Feng looked around a little before spotting the only mountain in this cemetery. It was the same mountain where news reported multiple policemen disappeared in 19 years ago, and also the place of exploration he was about to head to.
'We won't disappear inside that cave, will we?' Jiang Feng thought to himself.
Shaking that scary thought out from his head before he could carry on with it, Jiang Feng continued in his tracks as he arrived at the foot of the mountain in another 20 minutes.
'Now where is that cave…ah, right there.'
Walking towards the dark cave, Jiang Feng stood at its entrance as he started keeping his umbrella. Tidying his hair, he took out his phone to notify his friends about his arrival at the cave.
Jiang Feng: "How much longer until you guys arrive? I'm already here."
Lao Mu: "I'm heading over to @The World's Sun 's place right now. Prob another half an hour or so before we can meet up with you."
Tang Hu Lu: "I'm already here. @Jiang Feng , do you have anything you want us to bring for you?"
Jiang Feng: "Just a drink. Any will do. My bottle is kind of small so I think it's going to be emptied halfway in the exploration."
Tang Hu Lu: "Gotcha. @Lao Mu , anything you want as well? I'll be heading out to a nearby convenience store."
Lao Mu: "Grab me the same thing you're taking for @Jiang Feng"
Tang Hu Lu: "Okay."
Seeing that his friends were still not ready yet, Jiang Feng sat down on the ground away from the puddle formed by the rain. Taking out the snacks from his backpack, he opened one of them and started eating again while he surfs the Internet.
As chips entered Jiang Feng's stomach one after another, the snacks that he brought soon was finished. Packing all of the garbage into a small bag that he brought along, Jiang Feng texted his friends in the group again.
Jiang Feng: "Are you guys here yet? It's already three-thirty by now."
The World's Sun: "Sorry man. @Tang Hu Lu and @Lao Mu checked on the things again and turns out I really left out a few. I'm heading out with @Tang Hu Lu right now to get them. Don't worry, we'll be there soon."
Jiang Feng: "…"
Lao Mu: "Told you guys we can't trust him to pack stuff."
Turning off his phone after being told that his friends were still going to take a while before arriving, Jiang Feng sighed to himself and shifted his attention to the rain outside.
The clouds were all that he could see in the sky as it turned the ground below dark. The lights in the place he lives at, the Jiang Family's Residency, shined brightly in his eyes as a boring thought of wanting to locate his house from where he was arose in him.
"…Jiang Feng…"
Standing up in shock, Jiang Feng immediately looked around as he quickly readied himself should he fall into the illusion he visited last night once again. However, other than the waterdrops reaching his pants from time to time, Jiang Feng spotted no change to his surroundings.
"…Jiang Feng…"
This time, being able to locate the source of the voice, Jiang Feng looked at the cave behind him. He was sure that the voice that was calling out to him originated from the inner depths of the cave.
With that thought in his head, Jiang Feng could feel a cold chill running down his spine as he started trembling unconsciously.
"…Jiang Feng…"
As the cave called out his name again, Jiang Feng gulped down the saliva in his mouth as an irrational thought of exploring the cave alone appeared in his head. Although knowing full well how dangerous it was for him to do so alone, his urge to do so continued to rise until it became the next decision Jiang Feng was going to take.
"Well…I should be fine if I walked into it a little and come back afterwards. Yup, I'm going to be fine." Jiang Feng murmured as he grabbed his backpack and his umbrella and started walking deeper into the cave.
