"Morgana! I need you," Alder closed his eyes and concentrated on his wife.
"Yes, King!" answered Morgana.
"Where are you?" he asked.
"Hospital! A lot of wounded need help," she replied.
"I have to go somewhere. Can you take care of the council meeting? I will be back in an hour or two," said Alder.
"Where are you going?" asked Morgana.
"I will tell you everything after I get back. Meantime call everyone if they are available. We have some issues to discuss," said Alder.
"Yeah. Some are hurt, still, I think all will come. Are we going to discuss about Deidra's daughter?"
"Yes, that and another issue. Just get everyone ready."
"And what about their funeral?" asked Morgana.
"We will have that after I come back. Wait till then!"
"Will you be safe?"
"Dear Morgana! I will be fine, don't worry about me," said Alder and disconnected the mind-link.
Morgana sighed as she was worried about Alder. He too was tired and hurt yet was going somewhere. He didn't even tell her. Everything was going wrong that night and of course, it was obvious for her to be worried. So many people died, and so many were hurt, Thessalia was unconscious, she hit her head, Consuela was hurt, and Deidra died.
All was wrong but even then, one thing was going Alder's way. Everyone was praising him for his bravery and fighting skills and leadership skills. Deidra survived for long because he used tactics. He sent the fastest runner in her direction. He divided the manpower and conquered. All the rogues were defeated and Seth went into hiding. All saw how Seth was injured. Half his face was gone, face was dripping skin and blood. The way he was hurt all thought that he might die of infection.
Morgana informed everyone and all were waiting for Alder to arrive.
"You fought well," said Borus.
"No, Alder was great. Whatever happened he told us to, we just followed his order. He is a great leader," said Markway.
"Yeah and handling such a huge team, all five packs, all the alphas and betas and warriors, a great job," said Helen.
"I am ready to bow down to him," said Nolan. "The way he protected that kid! I was in awe. He was not bothered by that light. We all froze but not him."
"Yeah, what was that light? Where did it come from?" asked Margaret.
"No idea," said Rodion.
"Light?" asked Thessalia.
"Yes, light. Seth was about to kill that kid but there was a burst of white light. It looked like it was coming from inside the kid which is like impossible. The faster the light came, the faster it went away. We couldn't even comprehend what that was. But that fazed Seth for a little time and King Alder was able to subdue Seth. He almost killed him but as if Seth didn't want to die, he pushed Alder away and he ran. All the rogues ran away with fear," said Margaret.
"Fear? Why?" asked Thessalia.
"They were shouting, it's true, it's true. What was true, we have no idea," said Rodion.
"Maybe that kid is special," said Thessalia.
"Please!" scoffed Margaret. "No kid is special and especially no kid who is as tan as her. Her mother was so beautiful how can she be so tan."
"What difference does it make that the kid has dark skin colour? She is born today, she lost her mother, she lost her father and you are judging her today itself. When will you grow up, Margaret?" snapped Opaline who arrived late but she had the kid in her arms. The child was sleeping peacefully with her whole fist above her mouth.
"I didn't mean that. I just said that she does not look like her mother's daughter. Deidra was so beautiful," said Margaret.
"This child is beautiful too," snapped Morgana.
"Of course, head Luna, she is. I just said that…" Margaret tried to save herself from the blunder.
"Don't say another word," scolded Morgana. She looked at Opaline and smiled, "give me the kid. This kid sacrificed so much today so that future kids will be safe. She lost her family and then she defeated Seth. She is so special." Morgana took the kid and fondly looked at her. "Maybe our kids are safe too because she came into the world. Who knows Seth might have killed all the kids and their families no matter when they were born."
"Morgana!" suddenly Alder interrupted everything.
"Alder!" she said and everyone looked at her. Her eyes were closed.
"I will be there in a minute. Gather everyone," ordered Alder.
"Everyone is here! Even the little girl."
"What about other rogues and Seth?" asked Alder.
"No one saw them yet. They have vanished. We can't find them. A few have been captured and our warriors are bringing them to the dungeons," replied Morgana.
"Good! After meeting we all will say goodbye to Deidra and Felix," ordered Alder.
"What is this meeting about, Alder?" asked Morgana.
"Something that will change the course of our life. I will be there. Wait for me!" said Alder.
"Let's get inside. He is coming!" ordered Morgana. Opaline wanted to take the baby from her hands, but Morgana wanted to hold her for some more time. Opaline simply smiled at her.
"Gadburg! Take the minutes of the meeting. Alder will be here in a minute," ordered Morgana to the Head Beta. He worked directly under King Alder.
"Yes, Head Luna!" said Gadburg.
"Luna Opaline Streak of Everridge Hounds for the meeting."
"Alpha Nolan Streak of the Everridge Hounds for the meeting."
"Helen Rydel of the Frostcrest Nightwalkers for the meeting."
"Markway Rydel of the Frostcrest Nightwalkers for the meeting."
"Margaret Hrodwulf of the Ferocious Nightwalkers for the meeting."
"Frederick Hrodwulf of the Ferocious Nightwalkers for the meeting."
"Thessalia Calgan of the Grimmaw Howlers for the meeting."
"Borus Calgan of the Grimmaw Howlers for the meeting."
"Consuela Sabelbite of the Everfang Pack for the meeting."
"Rodion Sabelbite of the Everfang pack for the meeting."
"Morgana Silvermaw, head Luna for the meeting."
"Alder Silvermaw, Lycan king for the meeting," Jaws dropped around the table as soon as everyone heard Alder's voice. What shocked everyone more was that he was not alone.
