"Urgh, it hurt so fucking much."
The boy lying on the ground was feeling a torturous pain all over his body. It was as if he was beaten to death, he could feel parts of his body swollen up.
" Wasn't I dead? Why am I feeling pain all over my body?"
He tried his best while going through all the pain and opened his eyes.
He hurriedly accesses his surroundings with his half-opened eyes only to find himself in a dark alley.
'Where is this place? It feels different than before, Is it the same place?'
This alley felt different than before where he was before, this alley was so dark and there was only so little light, it felt so alien. He could see large dustbins and piles of garbage lying around him.
" Wait... was.. my hands always this small?"
' No something is wrong. '
The boy checked all the body parts he could via eyes and touching, realizing that there was something seriously wrong with his body.
' Seriously is this even my own body? Didn't I die after being shot?"
Suddenly a sense of sadness and anger overwhelm him.

A Day Before
*Ring* *Ring*
A man sleeping in a bed opened his eyes after hearing the alarm go on. Slowly opening his eyes he looked at the clock to see the time.
" 8:00 a.m. looks like it's time to wake up."
He felt reluctant to wake up, his whole body was still sore due to the heavy work he had been doing lately.
' Just a little more.'
" Evan I think it's time to wake up."
Hearing a voice the man turned around to see the person who just called out for him.
" Harman, you over with your Sift Today? "
Evan asked.
Evan and Harman are what people considered childhood friends, they had been living together for many years. They both were orphans, one whose parents had abandoned him due to rising costs and another whose parents died due to hunger and disease. They were each other's only family.
" So how was your night sift."
" Worked my ass off, do they even think us as humans not even donkey worked like that."
Harman grumbled, he and Evans have been working for a few years so that they could escape what they called Poverty.
" Don't be like that you know we have to save money."
" I know but still."
" Okay Okay, just stop making excuses like that, I still have work to do today."
Evan and Harman were both hard workers who had been working for the last 15 years, they started working and making a living when they were only 12 years old. They had been staying in an orphanage before but it was forced to shut down because some rich person liked the location of that place and wanted to build his business building there.
This is a world that is ruled by those in power and no one cares about the bugs at the very end of the food chain.
After being kicked out from their only home some orphans died due to malnutrition not being able to feed themself properly, while some others had gone missing. Only Evan and Harman lived.
Anyway, after a small chat with Harman, Evan gets ready for his work.
They lived on the outskirts of New York City, America, although it was not so cheap to rent out an area here, it was not that they had been working for nothing. Moreover, the big city brings great opportunities.
After working there for a full 12 hours, Evan was just returning to his home, when he heard a scream, he had a bad premonition about this, so he decided to take a closer look.
" Ahhhh..... you think you can get away with this?"
" Shut his mouth"
A man dressed in black standing by a single man dressed in white nodded and then proceeded to tie the mouth of the person who was screaming with duct tape.
" Mmff.. Mmfff"
" So how do you like it fucker"
Evan who was watching this was shaken to the core half because of the scene going in front of him he knew the person they tied, in fact knew him very well, he was the very same person who he talked with every day, who he had known from the very beginning of his life, his only family.
' What that idiot is doing here? And how had he gotten himself enveloped with the group? '
Evan accessed the whole situation and was figuring out a solution for it.
' Should I call the police? '
Evan hurriedly took out his mobile and dialed 911, explaining the situation he shared his location and asked for urgent help.
" Our nearest agent will take around 5 to 7 minutes to arrive, please make sure that you stay in a safe place until backup arrives. "
' Stay safe Huh? but I don't think they will wait that long. '
Seeing that 2 men in black had started beating Harman up, And seeing a pistol in the hands of the one that seemed their Boss, Evan knew that he had to act or else this would be the end for Harman.
Deciding how should he act, he suddenly saw that a man in white receiving a call, Evan was having bad feelings about that, and just then
"Looks like there is a rat hidden somewhere."
Evan's eyes suddenly became wide awake, although there was some distance between him and the man, he could still hear him very clearly. Evan felt that his world just turned upside down.
" Find him"
All six men dressed in black except the two that were beaten Harman all nodded and started searching for Evan. Knowing that there was no way out, he planned to take the situation into his own hands.
He decided to hide in blind spots, and when he saw a single enemy in his range, he shot out.
" Wa-"
Before even noticing what just happened man found himself pinned on the ground losing consciousness. Evans had just stuck his neck making him unconscious. He then moved to his next target who was just nearby and by throwing an uppercut he made two figures unable to fight. and just as he was about to move to his next target.
" Yo Buddy"
He heard a voice just behind him and just as he was about to act,
*Shot*
The man who just called out for him shot him in the leg rendering him useless. Although Evan knows how to fight he is but a mere mortal and has no way to resist if got shot. After this quick confrontation, he was dragged to their Boss by the remaining 4 men.
After seeing that Evan, Harman's eye suddenly shot out and he was gazing intensely at the Man in white. If Gaze could kill he would have died long ago.
" Mmff.. Mmmfff"
Seeing him act like that, the Boss of the party had a sudden thought.
' Look like these two fellows know each other.'
" Boss he took out two of our men."
One of the men replied.
" Oh, interesting."
Men under him were not ordinary thugs they were all trained professionals so taking out two of them was not a small deal.
" So you are the one who called for the Police?"
' So it's really like that Huh.'
Hearing that confirms Evan's suspicion, he comprehends that there was no help coming.
' Why? Just Why?'
' Why does this keep happening to me? Is it because I am weak, cause I don't hold any power? Is it because being weak is a sin? Or am I just that unlucky?'
Seeing that Evan just kept staring at him, the Boss asked
" Hmm, Why are you so quiet? Were you that surprised?"
" Why are you doing this?"
" Why? Hmm..... Is there any reason for me to tell you anything?"
" Mmmff....Mmmfff"
" Oh he started again, Is he your brother you don't look like you are related by blood though, A friend maybe "
After pausing for a while man glanced at Evan seemingly thinking something and continued.
" Look, I have an interesting proposal for you. Work for Me and I will let both of you live."
Evan, who was thinking at an insane speed about how to get out of there, when heard this spoke without hesitation.
" If only you promise to let both of us go."
" Hmm"
* Shot*
A bullet pierced through the head of Harman, and his body fell to the ground seemingly lifeless.
Time just stopped for Evan, his breath became heavy and his brain couldn't register what just happened.
" No!! Why?! "
" Hahaha, I enjoyed that expression of yours."
Evan greeted his teeth, surpassing his anger, yes he was angry, he was angry on his weakness, he was angry about his situation, he was angry at himself and he was angry at the unfairness of the world which didn't even explain why he had been in this position in the first place.
Suddenly He felt a hot metal on his forehead.
" You don't have to be so angry I will help you reunite with him"
' I am sorry my bother, I hope that I will be still your bother in the next life.'
Memories of his past suddenly flooded his head, he just had a whole review of his life in front of his eyes, him living peacefully in an orphanage for the first 11 years of his life, starting his first job at the age of 12, then 15 years of hard work and painful life, what he got in the end was a meaningless death.
Everything went blank, he didn't even hear a gunshot.
Very next movement he found himself in a dark alley which was different than before and feeling pain all over his body.

Hello Guys, I know if you read this you must be thinking just how bad a person can write right?! I know myself, like it was so random Harman just died like that and then Evan died without even the explanation it is because even I don't know why he died or maybe there is something that we all don't know. I just wanted our protagonist to die one way or another, I think the Truck-kun route would also have been suitable but Let's go with this for a while. If you guys are unsatisfied let me know.
