On the third morning of work, Ava got up at 7 o'clock as usual, made breakfast, and then went to the mall. Since she had to go to work every day and couldn't take care of Martin, she could only buy food and let him take care of himself.
Martin was also very sensible. In addition to doing the holiday homework, he also took care of all the housework at home. He also took on a handicraft to do and never ran out, which made Ava very happy.
Today, Ava had just stepped out of the room when she saw someone leaning against the stairs. She stopped, quite shocked.
The guy was wearing a white shirt and light grey casual pants, a handsome outfit that perfectly showed off his perfect figure. His dazzling chestnut hair covered his thin eyebrows, and his pair of crystal light brown eyes shown gently in the light.
As he walked towards the door with a smile on his face, a fresh minty scent lingered all around.
"Hello, Ava." Seeing Ava in a formal business suit with a long chain bag on her shoulder, he asked softly. "Are you going out?"
"I'm on my way to work. Can I ask why you're here at this time?" It was surprising that Tristan would come to her place at such hour. She had always known that he was kind and well-mannered, but she had never thought that he would come to her in person despite the time.
"Sister, you're still here? Why haven't you left yet?" Martin came out of the room to see what the voices were all about and saw Ava standing at the door, so he stepped forward to remind her.
When Martin walked to the door, he saw a handsome boy standing outside, staring at him with his watery eyes.
"Hey there?"
He and his sister had been dependent on each other since childhood. Even their relatives had distanced themselves from them. So, who would come to visit them at such a simple place?
"This is my brother, Martin." Ava dodged with her clear eyes and tightened the chain on her shoulder. "Martin, say hello to our guest here."
Tristan saw the teenagers staring at him with curiosity in their eyes. The corners of his cherry-red lips slightly raised, and there was tenderness in his eyes.
"Hello." Martin greeted.
"You sound like a good kid." He reached out and touched Martin's head and smiled back.
Martin lowered his head shyly when he received praise from others for the first time. Suddenly, he remembered that he had to remind Ava, and raised his head anxiously and said. "If you don't leave now, you'll be late, you know."
"Ah... I almost forgot." Ava said in panic after looking at the clock hanging on the wall.
"Tristan, I'm going to be late. Why don't we meet up after I get off work?" After saying that, she hurried downstairs.
Tristan grabbed Ava at the right time and said. "It's late to get a taxi now. I'll take you there."
"That'll be better." When Martin heard that Tristan was going to drop Ava at work, he smiled. He could see that the guy was interested in his sister, but his sister kept avoiding him.
Ava glanced at Tristan unhappily and said softly. "Are you sure?"
"Of course. Besides, what I want to tell you can wait until you get off work." Tristan directly took Ava's hand and walked down the stairs, leaving her no chance to refute.
Ava stared at their clasped hands in a daze, her heart beating rapidly. She looked up and saw the support she had always longed for but could not get.
Her background and the vastly different living environments of the two of them had already doomed them to be apart in life. It was just a wishful thinking to rely on the harbor of their dreams.
