Chapter 2 - The Morning After Dawn

As the rays of the early morning light shone into the room through the mottled window, Ava slowly woke up from her deep sleep. Was it time for school?

Just as she was about to stand up, she found a pair of arms tightly holding her waist. She looked up and saw a handsome and impeccable man, breathing steadily with his eyes closed. Who was he?

She was wondering when the memory of the previous night flooded into her mind, which made her heart tremble. She had to get away from here as soon as possible.

After getting dressed, she bit her lip slightly, looked back at the man on the bed, and then fled the room.

Not wanting others to see her strange behavior, she calmly walked to the dressing room, changed back into her casual clothes, and quickly walked out of the nightclub.

Franklin woke up at noon and pressed his throbbing temples. It was the first time he slept so deeply that he even forgot it was time for him to go to work. Why did he sleep till this time?

Then he remembered the woman he had enjoyed himself with last night. His dark brown eyes swept across the bed, to the other side, but the woman was nowhere to be seen.

A thoughtful smile appeared on his face. Wayne was so thoughtful not to forget my perfect type of girl. It was a good value for the money.

He got out of the bed, and began to get dressed. When he was done, he looked at the other side of the room, towards the door and saw the broken glass bottles and bright red wine on the floor. It must be from last night. He took the phone on the table and called. "Mr. Barrett, can you come to my room?"

A minute later, the club manager walked into the room. Seeing Franklin standing by the French window, he walked up carefully and nodded. "Sir!"

Franklin did not turn around, and his icy voice rang out. "I'm very satisfied with the girl you sent last night. I think you can continue with your job here."

When Wayne heard this, he was ecstatic, and his eyes were filled with sparkling lights. He couldn't believe he could make the company's president happy enough for the the young man to pardon him. It seemed that he had chosen the right person last night.

Although he felt a little sorry for the girl, he had to sacrifice her for his future. "Thank you, Sir. I will continue to work hard for the company."

"By the way." Franklin turned around, looked at Wayne with curiosity, and asked, "Where did you find that girl from last night?"

Being stared at by Franklin's soul-piercing eyes, Wayne began to feel uneasy, and a thread of sweat appeared on his forehead due to fear. He mumbled. "She's new to the call-girl business. It was her first time, that's why we got her for you, sir."

"Oh, ok." Franklin glanced at him, revealing a cold smile on his face. He obviously didn't believe what he heard, but he didn't say anything to expose his lie. To him, this was not something worth of his attention at all. He never cared about women anyway. "Alright, I'll overlook your incapacity this time, but I hope you won't repeat what you did next time. Otherwise, I won't show you any mercy. You can go back to work."

Wayne bowed again and again and said, "Thank you, Sir. I will do my job conscientiously from now on."

Franklin didn't even look at him, and turned to leave the room, which made Wayne feel relieved.

Fortunately for him, Franklin didn't get to the bottom of the matter, otherwise how could he stand the cold-faced and ruthless CEO?
