Chapter 6 - Arielle's office The wedding dress fitting

ARIELLE'S POV

"Arielle!"

I turned at the sound of my sister's voice and my eyes blazed with intensity as l looked at her.

"Ready for your final dress fitting?l asked" her eyes meandering over the dress in charm. "It's wonderful. Is there anything you can't do?"Let's see how it fits. I can make adjustments if need arises but I doubt if you will add weight within the next two weeks" She gestures and takes the dress from me, vanishing into a fitting room where two attendants are at her service. Loretta emerges from the fitting room looking just like the superstar she is.

Wow! This is beautiful. She waltzed toward the mirror and checked the dress carefully.  Are you bringing a date to the wedding? she asked. Remember no one must  know what occasion they're going to until the day of our wedding, or we'll have the media swarming us." "I know," I remind her. "Don't stress about it. I'm not bringing a date. Your wedding day is for you, and I need to be there for you.If l bring a date how can l be of help? For clarity, I'm not seeing anyone." Loretta has kept her wedding wraps within the family. It's great that you aren't dating anyone, she says absentmindedly. "You're fortunate".Enjoy spinsterhood while it lasts. I didn't have that liberty of celibacy for that long." "celibacy" I shook my head in disbelief. People will do  anything just to be in your shoes. Is everything okay Loretta? I asked,  trying to be calm . Ariel and I are having serious issues these days. We rarely talk without arguing and quarrelling and it's crazy that we're getting married. Presently I have cold feet. Ariel and Loretta always look like the perfect couple to me. I never realised they had any issues at all, but I assume that is how the relationship works. It has its ups and downs.Big sis, there must have been many things he needed to do with you that he couldn't right? You have to make a sacrifice Loretta, if you truly love Ariel. That's what marriage is, right? Compromise." She gestures and turns toward the mirror and blows a frustrated breath. Her eyes meandered over her dress. "Yes, I think so. To worsen it Ariel is Mr perfection.  All of our issues come from me. I know he deserves my total submission but my career and aspirations matter to me. The rules his grandmother gave us are absurd. Imagine we must not be apart for three nights for first three years of our marriage or he will loose his inheritance. How is it even possible? He can't follow me to the set and l can't put my career on hold. One year is enough for people to forget me, you know? Let alone, three years." I chuckle and shake my head. "You're Loretta Rowan,a superstar there's no way anybody will ever forget you, Loretta. "Thank you, Arielle," she says, her voice delicate. "I just needed to let it out to someone that would not judge me.
