ARIEL'S POV
Richard, Pablo, and Lucas gaze at me, none of them knows what to say. That's not what gets me, my major concern is that Lyon is sitting comfortably in my living room. It's uncommon for five of us to be together since Lyon lives in England. The fact that he flew here overnight implies they're worried about me. What is it we are hearing ,that you two broke up a week before your wedding? Lyon asked in the long run.We thought you were the most fortunate one out of us, big bros. You're the one who gets to wed the one you adore, and you did this.what do you expect us to do? I run a hand through my hair and gaze at the ceiling. It's not like I needed to, Lyon. I'm as flabbergasted as you are. I knew we had our issues, but which couple doesn't? I didn't anticipate her calling off the wedding for real.Pablo moans and pushes against Lyon's beard. This sucks bros. Where we are envying you for marrying the one you love? Lyon looks at Richard and gestures. Richard, robotic engineer, put that PhD of yours to great use."Richard scowls at Lyon and shakes his head.I have a PhD in mechanical technology. What am I supposed to do? Construct a robot fiancee for him?" Lucas bursts out giggling.I wagered the robot would still be more well-mannered than Loretta ever did. Do not tell me any of you're disturbed they broke up. Don't tell me you are bored over this nonsense. You know when it comes to Ariel, love is blind. I shake my head and lift my bourbon glass to my lips. Thanks guys,I tell them. "I feel so much better now." My brothers chuckle among themselves, and it hits me then. They're concerned for me, but with the help of the conversation, l am feeling a little relieved. My brothers aren't disturbed that Loretta and I broke things off. They're very concerned that I'm hurting. "Did you folks not like her, or are you trying to make me feel better? They look at each other, and Richard and Lucas elbow each other, even though they're both demonstrating for the other to talk. In the long run, it's Lyon who speaks out. "It's not that we do not like her, Ariel. It shows clearly that she wasn't the one for you. Loretta could be a goddess, and a few folks are truly into that, but you aren't one of them. We all saw how you try to make the relationship work by always compromising for her. She always gives flimsy excuses, who does that? Yet never getting much in return. She couldn't publicly acknowledge your relationship, you know? I continuously felt like you deserve way better than that, so no, my guy, I'm not disturbed
she broke things off with you. Somebody had to do it, and I know you never take the bull by the horns. We all know you stick with her, just to comply with Grandma's terms." Richard looks at me, his expression tormented. "Ariel," he says, tell us the gospel truth. Were you truly in love with her or had you just gotten used to the status quo that l am Warren ?I grit my teeth and look absentmindedly.Who are you? Aristotle? I snap. Lucas shakes his head. "He's maintaining a strategic distance from the issue, guys. You know what it means, right? Ariel knows he wasn't happy but he's faithful to the family tradition. "Don't be sad now, bigbros".My brothers gesture in assertion, and I rise to my feet. I've had an ample amount of this nonsense. I am not in the right mood presently but as I'm about to walk outside. I'm ceased in my tracks by a sweet, delicate voice. "Ariel." I turn to see my grandmother, standing at the door with Bianca by her side
Awesome. Let's have a full-blown family get-together in my house, huh? Bianca grins at me remorsefully, the truth of the matter is that she knows my family is overpowering me at the most noticeably awful conceivable time. Whereas my sister has never said a bad word to Loretta, the truth that she didn't warm up to her all the time we were dating speaks a lot. I'm shocked I never saw it until now. "I felt bad Loretta broke things off," Grandmother says, but that wedding is happening with or without her. "What?" I inquire, befuddled. What are you talking about, Grams? Grandmother grins. "Loretta isn't the lady I needed you to wed to begin with. This proves that I was right. I made an exemption for you, and I shouldn't have.I sink back into my chair, fear washing over me. What is she talking about? She can't be saying what I think she is, right? Doubtlessly Bianca wouldn't be standing there so calmly as she was. "If Loretta won't wed you, then Arielle must. If Arielle too denies, the bargain with Rowan is off the table, and I'll slice your inheritance in half pending when I will arrange another girl for you.
"Grandma! I can't wed Arielle. This is so ridiculous.I turn to seek help from my brothers, but their expressions are carefully clear, as in the fact that they set out not to concede that they concur with Grandmother. What is going on with all of you? I can't. Not her, Grandmother. She's a friend. I've continuously seen her the same way I see Bianca, you know that.I stole a glance at my sister, but there wasn't indeed an indication of resistance in her confrontation. The same young lady who turned non domesticated at whatever point I teased Arielle around her braces back in the day just looked at me with a quiet grin on her face. Is she not going to say a word in Arielle's defence? Arielle would never concur with it, I said. I and her sister have been a couple for five years.
Why would she ever indeed consider wedding me? The thought of constraining Arielle into something she doesn't need sickens me. She'd do it out of commitment and obligation to her family and she'd loathe me for it. Don't do this to her,I pleaded. Arielle isn't implied to be tied down. It can't be her, Grandmother. Give me some time, and I'll make Loretta see the reason. She'll be there, Grams. Grandmother grins at me. "She won't be. I exceedingly suggest you talk to Arielle if you know what is good for you Ariel or l will do it myself.
I never ought to have given you as much flexibility as I did. There's a reason your marriage arrangements are chosen by me. It's a centuries long tradition of the Warren family that has never fizzled us, however, l veered off with you. I wasn't comfortable doing it after the incident at Bianca's twenty- one birthday party and I'll be rectifying my botch as quickly as possible. I'm not cancelling your wedding. It'll happen, and you'll wed the lady I chose for you. "Bianca," I called. Are you willing to watch grandma do this to your friend? She grinned at me and patted Grandma's hand. I trust Grams, she said to me.She knows what's best for you better than you do, Ariel. And honestly, I can't think of a better; stronger spouse for my bestie than you. You'd never abuse her, and if given ample time, you'd make her happy won't you?.I grit my teeth in an exertion to curb
my mood. Is she insane? I observe as she pulls Grandmother alongside her, the two of them vanishing through the door. I get my bourbon glass and purge it, smashing it down on the table. "ahhh!" I howl. I turn to face my brothers, anger coursing through my veins.Thank you exceptionally much for standing up for me, losers Lyon grins at me. Maybe Bianca is right, you know? Perhaps Grams does know what's best for you." I shake my head and grit my teeth. "Get out of my sight," I said to him. "All of you." I turned to walk away and pummelled the door closed behind me, the sound of their chuckles streaming in my ear long after I'm gone. Brother backstabbers, each and everyone of them.
