Judith and Tsai were on top their mats which had been set by the window. Tsai on Judith's request had gone to sleep, while Judith sat crossed leg with her hands on her knees as she meditated.
She had been at it for half an hour now, with no results. Thinking on the instructions of her novel, she had to empty her mind and to picture the sparks within the Droplet. The second step to this was easy enough, and she did accomplish this. But the first part was where she was having problems.
'How the hell do I empty my mind?' Judith thought, angered and frightful of a possibility of her not actually being able to Cultivate.
She didn't even want to think on such a thing, it had never been heard of throughout the novel and it wouldn't start with her.
Sighing, Judith had opened her eyes in an attempt to think of how she would clear her head and then try again. But when she opened her eyes, she found herself in the middle of a purple desert.
