CHAPTER NINE
GREEN SULPHUR FIRE
"People who fight in the dark are cowards. Tell me, who the fuck are you?" She blinked her eyes as she stared dangerously at the man with green eyes that glowed brightly in the darkness.
Lucius was caught off guard by Avery's actions. Should he say she wasn't afraid of death, or she is too daring?
"You are not afraid of death?" He asked, staring into the eyes of the woman on top of him. The woman above him, grinned evilly.
She domineeringly sat on top of his belly button, subduing his movements.
It wasn't that he couldn't get rid of the woman in front of him. It was that she was the first woman to ever speak to him face to face.
Those who had ever seen his eyes died without seeing the sun the next day. Another question of doubt roused his heart again. 'Who is she?' His curiosity was roused, at the same time, the killing intent on his body never ceased.
"Let go!" His voice was grim, and gloomy. The temperature in the air rose sharply.
"Oh. Agitated so quickly? Why don't you tell me who you are since I'm curious to know?" Avery's killing intent eased a lot, she suddenly changed her mind and wanted to tease him. She doesn't mind if his face was ugly. At least his green eyes could keep her intrigued. That's a bonus point.
From the angle to which he was able to stare at her, Lucius could see her smirking, a teasing smirk was mounted on her face evilly. Despite everything, she never eased the pressure holding him down. Avery was too strong.
If he knew She was this strong, he could have dealt with her before she approached him. Earlier, he noticed that she was resistant to his snake venom. She even dared to hurt one of his babies. He hasn't reconciled with that fact yet!
His anger surged and the next moment, all the candles inside the room lit up with a bright green fire.
"Green Fire? What are you?" Avery sounded very startled. Suddenly, the temperature on Lucius' body got hotter, his body scalding hot.
When the candles lighted up, Avery was able to see Lucius' features, "You are truly handsome." For a moment Avery felt dazed.
Suddenly, she felt her palms get scalded like though it was directly put into a burning furnace, causing her to instantly let go of Lucius. Her whole body was on fire. A strong dizziness hit her, and she lost consciousness.
Lucius got up and stared at the woman who fell to the side. A strong wave of unease hit his heart. He didn't intend to kill her. The more he looked at her weak figure on the ground, his heart became more heavy. All his life, he never understands what falling in love is. At some point, Lucius thought he was cursed. His origins are unclear, and he couldn't understand the strong feelings that sprang out of his heart at this moment.
He just didn't want her to die. With trembling hands, he checked her pulse. His uneasy mood subsided when he found that she merely fainted. But along with the subsiding unease came a great surprise.
"How is this possible?" She didn't die from his green sulphur fire. "Who are you Avery?"
