CHAPTER EIGHT
GREEN DEVILISH EYES
Avery's movements were calm and collected, Suddenly, she felt a great itch in her heart. The more she walked deeper into the dark hallways that led to the sixth floor, the more uneasy she felt.
The mansion was too large, Avery felt that she might miss the way if she's not careful enough. She also noticed that the sixth and seventh floor of this particular part of the mansion seemed to be enshrouded in darkness. She didn't care about the charges one but, because, is not light. But a darkness that shines in the midst of darkness.
Suddenly her movements paused at an intersection, it felt strangely familiar and unfamiliar. It was a staircase that leads to the seventh floor. Avery raised her eyebrows.
She had never believed that ghosts exist, but if there is a word like parallel universe and rebirth, then nothing is impossible.
She wanted to ignore it, as she tried to walk away, but her feets refused to obey her orders.
Finally, she subconsciously walked up the stairs. Avery wasn't wearing heels, but each movement she made scratched at the heart of a certain man sitting in the dark.
She got to a certain door, where she felt the aura was fluctuating more and opened it casually. Cold icy air hit her face, but she didn't flinch or frown.
She walked towards the aura, and suddenly felt a needle-like pain on her ankle. The pain felt strange, Avery felt her blood being sucked away from her.
Avery coldly squatted down and grabbed the slithery snake on her ankle, she raised it and stood up in the process.
The snake's whole body was green, but its eyes were red. Avery wondered what kind of animal was lingering inside this dark room.
Without further thoughts, a cruel but charming smile escaped her lips and she twisted the snake's neck. "Dare to bite and suck my blood. Did you ask for my permission?" With each word, her aura gets scarier and more cruel.
She squeezed its neck without mercy, the snake was the size of a slender baby's wrist. It wriggled hard, its original vicious gaze turned to fear.
"Stop. Let it go." A cold chilling voice spoke out of the corner of the darkness.
"Who? Decided to stop playing hide and seek?" Her words were rude.
"It's me." His reply sent shivers down her spine, but Avery isn't one to be intimidated.
A walking clicking sound was heard in the dark room, as the footsteps got closer, Avery felt the murderous intent from the incoming person. She held the pistol, ready to shoot him dead without a second thought.
Her murderous intent soared high. Lucuis raised his eyebrows as he felt her deadly aura. Although he knew bullets couldn't kill him, he wanted to see if she dared shoot him.
The moment Avery caught a glimpse of green eyes staring at her, she felt a creepy feeling, like though snakes were slithering around her, trying to weaken her. But she was more conscious than ever. She Shot out three bullets without blinking an eye.
Surprisingly, she heard the sound of the bullets dropping on the floor. She threw the gun away, muttering curse words and ran into the darkness to fight a close range battle with the man in the dark.
"You are quite daring."He dodged her attack quickly, but his eyes widened when she landed him a hit on his jaw. Then his eyes widened, who is she???
"I have always been super daring." Her tone sounded very arrogant.
