Chapter 3 - The dread

The next day

There was a line-up of super Boloim military van ready to transport the children. The transport van was forged with the strongest metal known to mankind after the existence of mana. The metal was called Albitum metal it was created as a result of the fusion of two metals called osmium and iridium both dense and a good conductor of mana.

Everyone sort after it as it could only be found in the lava golem dungeon which was hard on its own to clear. without the ability to resist heat it was like heading into one's own grave as such person could the melted alive which simply doesn't sound like a good way to die. Only a few people had the ability to clear the dungeon which was the government and some powerful family.

People are excited about the prospect of finding other types of metal in the quickly appearing dungeon and also with the ever-increasing lifespan of mankind due to mana humanity is hoping to be able to uncover the truth of the universe that has been hunting mankind for generations.

Soon the vans were filled up with the children who couldn't stop themselves from chattering excitedly and even showing surprised face after seeing the boloim van which was made from Alibitum they couldn't help but yelp excitedly some even bragged they will also be able to dive into the lava dungeon and bring back the prized metal. No sooner had the van began to move did they all split of into different directions which confused the children about the reason for the split.

"ahem"

They turn their attention to look at a middle-aged man, who was bald, had a strong build and a fares brown eye which stared at the children like an hawk looking for his prey. Some of the weaker minded children began to shake as the felt like they were being strangled by his stare, while the stronger one's felt very uncomfortable.

"Listen up am sure you rookies are wondering why the vans split up, well the higher ups think you'll are worth saving. If it were up to me, I'll just leave y'all to die as y'all one of the many fishes so don't go on thinking you're anything special. A lot you rookies makes mistake of thinking your baptism will be a walk in the park but ill tell y'all are screwed half a batch of you guys never make it back cause you'll too overconfident and don't take the dangers seriously. Now am goanna break it to y'all you're under the threat of being brutally killed by a dangerous guild if you're lucky you might not see them on our route but if you've got shit luck then we're goanna die. I want y'all to get your shit together and stop acting like some sort of little kittens. Good luck on your way to doom as every five hours y'all get to take a leak you could also wander far if you feel you could take on any wondering monsters on your own and lastly, you'll have an hour to wonder about anyone stupid enough to stray away late than the given time is ready to fend for himself in the wild. Now do I make myself clear have an uncertain journey" with that he unceremoniously left.

Some of the soldiers hanging around only looked at the crushed kids in pity. They all know how foul mouthed their captain was, even their general is as frustrated as they were. The good thing about the captain is that he always carried out his orders to the fullest without any mistake, even after grumbling about everything he still does his work well.

On the fourth day the van stopped for the children one hour break the entirety of four days long journey the kids couldn't get back to their happy atmosphere but on the fourth day with no sign of danger anywhere some of the children started to believe the captain was all bluffs.

"That crazy man just ruined our fun for days2

"Yea there was no danger anywhere "

"Let's go check out the area"

The group of five children wandered off to explore the area while unknowingly heading toward their own doom.

Back in the van Drema and Ashley sat in silence.

"Can you feel it as well big brother" Ashley asked quietly

Unlike her usual playful expression, she had on a serious look that didn't match her doll like face.

Drema sighed.

"yes" he answered while looking into the horizon.

"What could this danger be" she asked

"I don't know but I have a feeling it has something to do with that dangerous guild"

"They're called the shadow guild they are made up a group of assassins who refused to change their usual profession after the arrival of mana."

Dreama raised a brow at this.

"They are a very dangerous organization who kills anyone for money and if your hunch is right about them attacking us the only thing we can do is to run as far as possible as it's only the elite force who can court them anyone else is just flesh to be used for their disgusting profession on narcotism"

"What do you mean"

"After killing their targets, they reanimate them as an undead their soul will be stuck on their body for eternity do the beading of that disgusting organization and can only die when their master dies"

"That's completely unmoral"

"Moral is not a sentence in their name, so big brother if we come across them, we need to run if we come across them"

She had a very determined look on her face that say she would take a no for an answer.

"don't worry Ashley I'll run as fast as I can when I come across them"

After being reassured she finally calmed down and was about to start playing around him when a loud explosion rang out in the forest followed by a loud scream for help which turn into a shrill like the person was being hacked down bit by bit tilting away their life force.

The bracelet on their wrist began to heat up warning all the kids in the surrounding area about the danger and telling them to hurry back into the bus.

Bothe Ashley and Dreama both exchanged looks as the feeling of dread was even more pronounced
