Chapter 16 - behind the scenes.

With the events of the house of Bravos'house a chill passed down the spines of all the loyalists and chilled their hearts.

Who would follow a leader who could arbitrarily dispose of them for some vague reasons.

It was later discovered through a few spies in the Noble faction that the newly crowned emperor had struck some sort of deal and as for the details of the deal, it was unknown.

The cracks that had formed over time became giant glaring chasms and hence signaled the end of the loyalists party that had persisted since the foundation of the empire.

Upon further introspection, it shouldn't have shocked them as the emperor had always been closer to his mother's family compared to the then crown prince.

There had been some rumours about the events that led to the emperor's reign yet who would dare put their noses in the imperial family's matters , only death would follow.

It is in such chaotic times when the so called trade wars took place. And behind the cause of the war we're the emperor's instigations.

...

It was on a sunny morning that news of the merchant companies revolt reached the emperor.

In a fashion fit of the nobility faction, the matter was dismissed as merchants were viewed as money hungry commoners.

All this changed when prices Started to rise for all luxury goods that are preffered by the nobility of the empire.

All goods prepared by the nobility were embargoed and left to waste away.

Just as the nobility were about were about to get trigger Happy about sending out their millitary might , a list of the merchant's demands that anyone from earth would recognize as a "Constitution" though squired towards capitalism.

To make matters worse ,apparently it had spread among the commoners making many waves and showing some signs of insurrection.

The seeds of insurrection had been planted and the hostility between the nobility and the commoners increased .

Imagine you were a pig , how could you rebel if you didn't know your fate. This Constitution showed a possibility to the people on how they may live, on the rights they'd given up.

Just as a full-blown rebellion was about to take place , the house of Bravos made it's move.

The house of Bravos that had entered self exile due to the emperor made an appearance in court about the interference of nobility in Chambers and their attempts to monopolize the businesses leaving the merchants with no opportunities pushing them into a corner

With a few reprimands and pointing the finger toward the noble houses in question. He proposed looser laws on behalf of the merchants with the representative being an up and coming back chamber of commerce ," Mors chamber of commerce" .

... behind the scenes.

Of course all this was simply Alan Mors taking advantage of the emperor's insecurities to finally truly open up trade to greater heights .

The laws constraining the commoners also restrained him limiting the growth of the company .

It was for this reason thatthis insane plan was concocted with the house of Bravos.

Using the emperor's weakness to the noble families , he made him make blunders continuously damaging his political reputation.

With the unification of the merchants and demands for better laws governing trade , it put the emperor in an awkward situation where he couldn't do as the merchants wish due to how lucrative the trade is for the nobles yet upon seeing the projected numbers proposed by the merchants , a hint of red appeared in his eyes .

This slowly created a rift with the royal family and the noble families as as the emperor started veiwing the nobles as thieves and robbers.

He approached the house of Bravos and made a deal to heal Maria in exchange for a meeting with the house head that lasted for close to three hours .

It was after these events that the revolt gained momentum. as the two worked together from opposing sides of the issue , something unexpected happened, the emperor intervened in the revolt by involving all the commoners.

It was he that made the Constitution and led the uprising from the shadows with the aim of reducing the power of the nobility removing the two party system and forming a trypartate system of governance.

It even seemed that even the crumbling of the loyalists was due to his machinations as well, what a terrifying man!.
