"Huh? Xia Lu, why haven't you left yet?"
Jin Meng walked through the office lobby and saw Xia Lu still sitting at her desk, staring at the computer screen.
"No way? Being this diligent on your first day of work, are you trying to make us old employees feel ashamed?"
Xia Lu finally snapped out of her design software trance.
"Today, the supervisor assigned me so many tasks," she sighed, "and I still have a lot left. How can I leave without finishing them? By the way, what time is it now?"
Jin Meng picked up her phone, "Six fifteen."
"What?!" Hearing the time, Xia Lu nearly fell off her chair.
"What's wrong?"
Xia Lu checked the time again. It really was six fifteen.
The normal working hours at this foreign company were from nine to six, with no tradition of overtime. Most people would automatically leave when work ended, which was originally why she was eager to join.
Normally, being fifteen minutes late wouldn't matter at all, but for Xia Lu, it was different.
