"Mrs. Zhang, what's the matter?"
"Madam, the mistress hasn't come back yet, and the master is getting anxious. Is she with you right now?" Mrs. Zhang asked in a low voice, holding the phone.
"She is, just a moment."
Laughter and chatter filled the receiver, and within less than three seconds, Xia Lu's voice came through.
"Madam, you should hurry back. The master seems to be angry."
"Ah…"
The call struck Xia Lu like a bolt from the blue, and her hand unconsciously tightened on the phone. She had been chatting so happily with this family that she had completely lost track of time. Now the sky had turned pitch-dark, well past the curfew set by Zhou Mingchen.
"Got it, I'm on my way."
