Chapter Seventeen
Moving in

I opened my eyes, shutting them immediately from the sting that the light had caused. Once I had adjusted, I blinked them open again, taking in my surroundings.
The air smelled sterile, and the repeated 'beep beep' sound alerted me that I was indeed in the hospital. Although my mind was still fuzzy, I vaguely recalled my husband personally bringing me here himself.
Speaking of the devil, he was currently asleep, using his hands as a pillow. He looked so peaceful and serene, despite the dark circles around his eyes. I could only guess that he had stayed up all night with me.
A wave of affection swarmed inside me, pooling at the bottom of my stomach. If that was the case, then it was truly so sweet of him. I reached out, brushing his hair with my fingers. After about three strokes, he stirred awake. "Raven. . . "
