Chapter 13 - 13: Departures

"Girls," Olivia muttered before she destroyed the chains, the girls looked at Olivia with a thankful gaze and admiration for their saviour. "Do you have a home?"

The older and heftier polar spoke, "No." The polar girl said as the over one continued, "We were experiments for a cult of Deus Maleficarum. We've never had a home but with..."

"Honestly, I don't know if he will help you, but there is a guy that's not too far from here. He's a noble, and he may be able to give you two a home; his name is Ezekiel Davis." Olivia said as the girls jumped onto her, hugging her for saving their lives and giving them a potential future before they went on their way.

As soon as the girls were out of sight, Olivia drew her sword, this time on Joseph, "So you ran? When bullets started flying, you ran are you a coward?" She asked, and she wasn't angry over something petty, it was more the trust factor.

"Pulling your sword again, huh? How childish of you-" She looked at him in disgust, "No, don't try to flip this on me! You ran, what if someone came from behind me and the person who's supposed to have my back just leaves."

Joseph pulled out his sword, and he swung first, Olivia responded immediately to block, "You fool. This sword is meant to make sure you listen, not to fight-" Suddenly a ball of fire hit her face, burning it slightly.

Olivia was pissed, tried to kick the sword out of his hand but he moved it just out of reach and Olivia started to violently hack, trying to overload his perception skills or 'Wait. He doesn't have heightened perception or unnatural luck. He can see the future or else, he would have been unaffected by the bullets flying.'

"So, that power of yours. You sure it can keep up with me!" He started going faster and faster, "Just because you can see the future doesn't mean you can react to it." Joseph was on the defence as she kept speeding up; the sword was flung out of his hand whilst the attacks kept coming and coming.

He didn't even notice.

She pointed the sword at his throat, "Not only that, you cut me off." Joseph spoke, "Oh, you're mad I cut you-" She slapped him across the face, "No, in the bar, it was less serious, but you tried to bend over backwards for these pieces or shits whilst contesting someone's right to freedom."

She yelled at him, "You disgust me. You don't care about the people, you only care about what gets you the most applaud." Joseph was mad and, in a fit of rage, picked up his sword and walked away from Olivia; Olivia didn't stop him, and when she was gone, was it the right choice to let him leave?

She huffed as she walked away from the alley and walked back down south of the village. To her horse where she met Maurice and Josaphat, "Where's Joseph?" Maurice asked as he looked around, "I don't know." Olivia said.
