"Alright, where's our first stop?" Olivia asked as she was petting her horse, "Our first stop to becoming legendary heroes and saving this world from the Demon King is an artifact here in the Midlands." The weakest of the group spoke; his name was Joseph, "It may be what Sunsday is looking for." The leader continued, "We can use this artifact to kill the demon King because it's rumoured to be able to slay demons."
"Why hasn't Sunsday just killed the Demon King?" The mage called Josaphat asked their leader, as Olivia cringed at the name of Sunsday, the 6'7 290lbs freak of nature named Leyton, "Maybe he can't?" The Archer named Maurice spoke, "Or maybe it's not as much a threat as everyone makes out to be."
"Anyway, it doesn't matter; we'll kill it in our first act of Heroism," Leyton said with a chuckle. They got into the horse; Olivia looked at the town of Mon Contally and went out of the village on horseback.
...
"Joseph, do you want?" Joseph looked at a cute girl who was around 15; she had light blue hair, and she asked whilst she stood over him, "What do I want?" He asked, "Yeah, what do you want to achieve? Like what do you want?"
"I want you." The girl smiled, "Yeah, I know but what else do you want? You always help even though they attack you and hate you. Do you want to be strong? Do you want revenge? What do you want?"
Joseph thought about this as he sat up in the grassland, "I want the world to take me seriously, and I will do anything to achieve it, whether it would be becoming the world's greatest hero or greatest leader."
"I want people to look twice when they hear my name; I want the world and continent to see me as a great person capable of moving mountains."
"Everyone sees me as the son of the nobleman, and I've had life easy. They think I'm a joke because of 'the luck', I want the world to see me for what I'm meant to be."
"Do you think this world is rotten, Joseph?" He nodded, "Do you think only you can change it?" He nodded, "When I become a hero, people will change and be kind to others, no matter the city, no matter rank, no matter anything..."
...
They rode out of the village and after a day of riding, they set up camp a couple miles north. Olivia got off her horse and sat on a log as she set firewood, and the mage burnt it alight.
"Well, so this artifact? Who'll hold onto it?" Maurice asked as he looked into the fire; Leyton spoke, "I think Olivia should hold onto it; she's a skilled swordswoman who can protect it with her lethality and speed."
"No." She said bluntly, "I'm too clumsy, and we don't even know if speed and skill should be the best bet to protect it. Joseph? What if it makes him stronger? It's a legendary artifact. It's bound to have strength attached."
