Chapter 5 - 5: Visage of the Past

"Alright then? Also, I thought you said at noon, so what's the problem?" It's clear she didn't really care about holding up the group, and she sat on the other side of the camp as the sun was higher in the sky, but nowhere near high noon.

"So are we still leaving at noon?" Leyton nodded as Leyton tended to his horse.

...

It was a cloudy day, she was amongst a field, with a creek following through it. She walked, she danced, she skipped among the row of small crops. She watched a hawk fly overhead as she stacked some hay around her height at the time, 5 feet.

Olivia pulled out a sword and hacked at it, it was clear she was far from what she was now. As she hacked someone walked up behind her, "Still destroying the crops?" The guy's voice asked, teasing her careless nature.

"I'll need to tear down hundreds of crop fields and I'll be better than you." She said in a defiant voice. The Great Kenny White laughed as she tried to catch him off guard with her wooden sword.

Kenny White watched as her sword became riddled with holes the size of peas, "No fair! Stop using Ice magic!" She demanded and pouted childishly. "No." He said bluntly, "How does that even work?" She asked demanding to know, as she marvelled at her sword, which looked like a slice of Swiss Cheese.

"Alright, I can control and create ice, control so well it looks like I have telekinesis. So it's all about imagination, you have a strong imagination." She looked at him, confused as he said that, "Huh?" Kenny White continued, "You think you'll surpass me."

She huffed angrily, "I'm joking, I want you to retire me. When I retire, take the 'great' title out of my name so I can rest easy. So about the ice, I can make it swirl around me at close to the speed of lightning, and because they speed up close to that speed, it's almost impossible to avoid it."

She absorbed that information, "My ice magic isn't that good, that's why I'll surpass you using my sword!" She declared.

...

Olivia thought about the moment with her late brother as Joseph sat down next to Olivia. She turned her head slowly towards Joseph and she spoke, "What?" She demanded impatiently but not as ride as last night to Joseph.

"I noticed that you killed someone on your journey." She looked at him, confused, in an attempt to play dumb, "You seem a little less angry; what happens when you kill someone? You said 'and came back' when Leyton questioned you, which we can see. This is done when hiding something."

"Dork." She said as she moved away from him, "Damn," She thought, "Why's he so smart?" She looked at the mountain range and sighed. She chuckled as he checked her horse and her sword, the latter was minority bloodied but enough to notice, "Damn." She muttered under her breath.
