Chapter 19 : Raven is an Allie

The moon hung high over the night sky, casting its silver glow across the scarred remains of the banquet hall. Jhon and Lumi stood amidst the aftermath of the brutal battle, their clothes stained with blood and their bodies marked by the night's violence. The cool night air was a stark contrast to the warmth of the fire and the stench of death that lingered in the hall.

As they walked away from the ruins of the banquet, Jhon and Lumi were joined by Raven, whose cloak fluttered ominously in the breeze. The figure's dark presence was almost palpable, and Jhon noticed the shadowy outline of Raven's bleeding shoulder as they approached.

"Jhon, Lumi," Raven began, voice low and gravelly, "the White Dragon Empire's guards will be searching for survivors and anyone involved in the attack. We need to move quickly."

Lumi looked up at Raven with a mixture of wariness and curiosity. "Why did you help us? What's your true purpose?"

Raven's eyes gleamed from beneath the hood. "My motives are my own, but tonight's events have changed things. The attack was orchestrated by someone who desires chaos, and it's clear that we have a common enemy."

As the trio navigated through the winding streets of the city, their path led them to a hidden entrance beneath the city's grand library. The passageway was dimly lit by flickering torches, casting eerie shadows on the stone walls.

Inside, the library was a labyrinth of ancient tomes and forbidden knowledge. Raven led them to a secret chamber where scrolls and manuscripts were strewn across the floor. With a wave of their hand, Raven summoned a flickering orb of light that illuminated a weathered tome lying open on an ancient pedestal.

"This is the Book of Shadows," Raven explained. "It contains prophecies and secrets about the Demon Realm and the forces at play. It's said that the rise of the Demon King will be heralded by a series of events that could reshape the world."

Jhon's eyes narrowed as he read the cryptic text. "What does it say about the Demon King?"

Raven's fingers traced the old script. "It speaks of a king who will rise from the depths of darkness, wielding power beyond imagination. His arrival will signal the end of the balance between realms. The prophecy warns of great trials and alliances that will shape the fate of both the Demon Realm and the human world."

Lumi's face paled. "And what do we do now?"

Raven turned to face them, determination in their eyes. "We must find the Demon King before he gathers his strength. The key lies in understanding the prophecies and locating the artifacts mentioned within the Book. There's a hidden artifact known as the Heart of Shadows. It's said to have the power to either bind or destroy the Demon King's influence."

Jhon clenched his fists, a resolve hardening within him. "Then we have a new mission. We'll find this artifact and stop the Demon King before it's too late."

With their purpose set, the trio prepared to venture into the unknown, knowing that their journey would be fraught with peril and uncertainty. The night had revealed the beginning of a greater conflict, one that would test their strength and unity.

As dawn approached, the city's skyline was bathed in the first light of day. Jhon, Lumi, and Raven stood together on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sprawling landscape below. The weight of their task pressed heavily upon them, but their resolve was unwavering.

"We have a long road ahead," Raven said, looking out toward the horizon. "But we will face it together."

Jhon nodded, his gaze fixed on the distant mountains where the heart of darkness awaited. "We will bring balance to this world and ensure that the Demon King's rise is thwarted. For the future of both realms, we will fight."

With their resolve forged in the fires of battle, they set out on their perilous journey, knowing that the path ahead would be fraught with danger and dark forces. The fate of the world hung in the balance, and they were determined to see it through to the end.
