Chapter 5 : The First Match

Kane's first match was against a mysterious Demon girl named Lyra. She had piercing blue eyes, but her hair was a golden blonde, falling in loose waves down her back. A small horn protruded from her forehead, gleaming with a soft, frosty light. Despite her delicate features, Lyra's gaze was cold and unforgiving.

"Ha! You think you can take me down, ice princess?" Kane taunted, his eyes gleaming with madness. "I'm the king of chaos, the lord of lunacy! You're just a pretty face with a frosty attitude!"

Lyra didn't respond, her gaze fixed on Kane with an unnerving intensity.

"Hey, ice queen! You deaf or something?" Kane shouted, his voice echoing through the arena. "I'm talking to you! Don't ignore me!"

Lyra still didn't respond, her expression unchanging.

"Fine, be that way!" Kane snarled, his eyes flashing with anger. "But you're going down, ice princess! Maelstrom's Fury!"

The two attacks clashed, the icy mist meeting the swirling vortex in a spectacular display of color and energy. Kane's senses reeled as Lyra's powers pushed him to his limits.

"Ha! You think you can take me down with your little ice tricks?" Kane taunted, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'll show you what real power looks like!"

Lyra unleashed a flurry of swift attacks, each one aimed at Kane's weak points. "Glacial Strike!" she cried, her fist flashing with icy energy.

Kane stumbled backward, his eyes widening in surprise. Lyra's powers were unlike anything he had ever seen - she could control ice with precision and deadly force.

"Whoa, that's some slick moves!" Kane exclaimed, his voice dripping with admiration. "But I'm not going down without a fight! Aurora's Shield!"

Kane summoned a shield of swirling energy, its colors shifting and pulsing like a living thing. But Lyra was relentless, her attacks coming faster and faster.

"Frostbite!" she cried, her horn glowing with an intense light.

Kane's shield faltered, his strength failing. He knew he was beaten.

But then, Lyra spoke, her voice cold and unforgiving.

"You're just an illegitimate son, Kane," she said, her words cutting deep.

Kane's grin widened, his eyes gleaming with madness. "Oh, that's rich coming from you, ice princess! You think a little thing like family matters to me? Ha! I'm the king of chaos, and I don't need anyone's approval!"

Kane's attitude shifted, his movements becoming wilder and more unpredictable. He laughed maniacally, his powers surging with renewed strength.

"Time to get crazy!" Kane shouted, his eyes blazing with madness. "Crimson Requiem!"

With a mighty cry, he launched himself at Lyra, his powers surging in a final, desperate bid for victory.

The two Demons clashed, their powers locked in a struggle that seemed to shake the very foundations of the estate.

And when the dust settled, Kane stood victorious, his chest heaving with exhaustion. Lyra's cold gaze met his, a glimmer of respect flickering in her eyes.

"You're stronger than I thought," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kane grinned, his vision still blurry. "I told you, I'm the king of chaos! No one can take me down!"

The crowd erupted in cheers as Kane stumbled away from the battlefield, his arm raised in triumph. He had won, but at what cost? He knew he had pushed himself to the limit, and the next match would be even more challenging...

Kane coughed up blood, his vision blurring. He knew he couldn't defeat Lyra in his current state. But he also knew he couldn't afford to lose in the first round.

Just as he was thinking about using the Demon Purifying pill, he heard a voice behind him.

"Kane?"

He turned to see Lyra standing there, her cold expression unchanged. But there was something in her eyes, a flicker of concern that caught Kane off guard.

"What do you want, ice princess?" Kane asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"I wanted to see if you were okay," Lyra said, her voice softening ever so slightly. "You took quite a beating out there."

Kane snorted, wiping the blood from his lips. "I'm fine. Just need to use a little pill to fix myself up."

Lyra's eyes narrowed. "You're not going to overdo it, are you? You're already pushing yourself too hard."

Kane raised an eyebrow. "And why do you care, ice princess? You're just trying to psych me out for the next match."

Lyra's expression didn't change, but her voice took on a hint of warmth. "Maybe I just don't want to see you hurt yourself, Kane."

Kane laughed, a harsh sound. "You're not exactly the caring type, Lyra. What's going on?"

Lyra's gaze dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just think you're...interesting, Kane. And I don't want to see you throw your life away."

Kane's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't expected Lyra to show concern for him, especially not after their intense battle.

"Interesting?" Kane repeated,

his voice softer now. "That's a first. No one's ever called me that before."
