Six pairs of long, snow-white legs and three pretty faces filled with hopelessness.
"What's going on, ladies?" Zhang Zheng asked as he stepped out of his room, taking in the scene before him.
In Zhang Zheng's eyes, the once-cute angel girls were now showing signs of turning into lifeless couch potatoes. A strong wave of laziness washed over him.
Just moments ago, these same sexy pajamas on their equally sexy bodies were full of temptation for Zhang Zheng. But now, he felt like hanging these three beautiful girls on a line to dry—their allure had dropped to zero.
Earlier, Angel Yan couldn't resist A'Zhui and Moy's repeated questioning, plus she herself wanted to know why she had been engaging in this mutual torment with Zhang Zheng. So, while transmitting data to Queen Keisha, she asked for the reason.
"Queen Keisha, data transmission complete," Angel Yan said, her expression serious as if what she had just sent wasn't Zhang Zheng's embarrassing moments but some crucial secret that concerned the survival of all angels.
"Mm, Yan, you did well. But tell A'Zhui and Moy their performance today was lacking. Remind them to showcase the most beautiful side of an angel and conquer that arrogant brat," Keisha said calmly. Although her tone was indifferent, whenever she thought of Zhang Zheng's embarrassing moments, an unintentional smile would surface on her face.
Angel Yan, A'Zhui, and Moy heard their Queen's displeasure and immediately felt a shared sense of indignation. They ignored whether they were at a disadvantage and declared in unison, "For justice, death is not regrettable!"
At that moment, the determined expressions on their faces were enough to move anyone.
"Wait, wait! Are you mixing something strange with the concept of justice?" Keisha quickly interrupted.
Keisha was quite frustrated. Had she protected these children too well? Why were they acting so foolishly?
This task has nothing to do with justice. It's just a personal vendetta against that little guy on behalf of both me and Hexi. It's not connected to my concept of justice in the slightest. If anyone were to know that you were doing this in the name of justice, where would I hide my three thousand-year-old face?
With that thought, Keisha hastily added, "This matter has nothing to do with justice. Don't link everything to justice. It's simply me and Hexi personally finding him annoying."
"And you three, you're just helping out as our students and juniors."
"Yes, Queen," Angel Yan, A'Zhui, and Moy answered in unison. However, their voices now lacked the previous determination, leaving only endless helplessness and grievance.
Their Queen and teacher were too capricious. To get back at A'Xin's god, they had completely thrown them under the bus.
And so, after ending the communication, the angel girls felt like they had become cannon fodder for their Queen's revenge against Zhang Zheng. They collapsed onto the sofa, looking as wilted as flowers losing their moisture.
…
The result was the scene Zhang Zheng saw when he walked out of his room.
"Kid, do you need something? If not, I'm not in the mood to play with you today," Angel Yan said faintly. Although she was speaking to Zhang Zheng, her expression was still one of despair.
Zhang Zheng looked at the three listless angels and didn't rush to mention Ducao's request. Instead, he asked with concern, "What's wrong? Is it that time of the month for you all? What a coincidence to sync up on the same day."
There's a kind of death called courting death. At that moment, Zhang Zheng was walking down the path of courting death with no way back.
Sure enough, upon hearing Zhang Zheng's words, the previously spiritless little angels immediately launched into a full-blown roasting session, though the process was somewhat steamy.
In the end, Zhang Zheng ended up with a nosebleed, heading to the bathroom to splash cold water on his face.
It turns out that even the enhanced body of a Sentinel isn't invincible. Staring at his reflection with a bleeding nose, Zhang Zheng concluded.
Pushing open the bathroom door, Zhang Zheng returned to the living room. Before the angels could speak, he took the lead and said, "Enough fooling around, let's talk business."
"Ducao wants to meet with you to understand the angels' stance on Earth."
After saying that, Zhang Zheng fell silent, watching Angel Yan's face, which had become somewhat grim.
"Ducao, the warmonger from Prometheus? He's not worthy of negotiating with angels," Angel Yan said, her face full of pride, with no trace of the earlier seductive expression—only purity and nobility.
"I figured you'd say that. Yan, do you know? Right now, you remind me of Queen Keisha," Zhang Zheng replied casually, not surprised by her reaction.
Based on what Zhang Zheng knew about the angels, the only people they acknowledged on Earth were himself, Ge Xiaolun, Liu Chuang, and their squad leader, Rena. As for the former warmonger, now General Ducao, the angels didn't even consider him worth their time.
"Kid, mind your words. How could I possibly compare to Queen Keisha?" Angel Yan said, a bit annoyed.
"Now I understand why Queen Keisha said Zhang Zheng is an arrogant brat. Does this kid even think before he speaks?" Angel Yan thought to herself.
"Alright, alright, it was my fault. Is that better?" Zhang Zheng replied.
Really, these angels become so serious whenever Keisha is mentioned. It looks like I'll have to be more careful when talking to A'Xin in the future, Zhang Zheng reminded himself.
Angel Yan, seeing Zhang Zheng's obedient demeanor, couldn't help but feel irritated. Damn, since when does someone apologize with that kind of tone?
With that thought, Angel Yan decided to get back at Zhang Zheng a little. She said, "By the way, kid, aren't you supposed to be the god of Earth now? What gives Ducao the right to bypass you and attempt to negotiate with the angels? No deterrence at all."
Zhang Zheng listened to Angel Yan's sarcastic remarks but didn't take it to heart. However, what was with that seductive wink she gave him? Wearing such a sexy nightgown and winking at me—was she trying to make a move?
Not wanting to continue with Angel Yan's teasing, Zhang Zheng decisively changed the topic. "I'm A'Xin's god. Angel Yan, are you being fair to A'Xin?"
His expression, full of sorrow and righteousness, was enough to earn him the title of one of the top ten good men in the universe.
