"What did you just say?" Zhang Zheng asked, snapping back to reality.
"I asked where you went last night," Angel Yan repeated with some frustration.
"Last night, I went to the Super God Academy," Zhang Zheng replied.
Then, Zhang Zheng felt there was something off in Yan's words and asked, "But I don't remember telling you about going out yesterday. How did you know? Did someone from your side try to sneak into my room?"
Zhang Zheng looked at Angel Yan with a hint of suggestiveness, as if he suspected Yan was the one who tried to sneak into his room.
Angel Yan, who was being looked at this way, immediately blushed and said, "What are you staring at? Do you think it was me who went to your room? Don't think too much, kid. It was Mo Yi who had something to discuss with you. She knocked for a long time but didn't get a response, so I used my Insight Eye to check and found out you weren't in your room."
Angel Yan spoke with a strong tone, but her flushed face greatly diminished her intimidation.
"Mo Yi? Did she have something to discuss with me last night?" Zhang Zheng asked.
After spending some time with the three angelic sisters, Zhang Zheng felt he had a decent understanding of them.
Angel Yan, despite appearing easygoing and often joking around, was actually very proud internally, not at all inferior to Kesha. Zhang Zheng saw her as a sort of second Kesha.
As for Angel Zhui, although she appeared carefree and a bit boyish, she was genuinely kind-hearted.
Lastly, Angel Mo Yi didn't leave a particularly strong impression on Zhang Zheng. She had been quiet and seemed shy over the past two days. Zhang Zheng hadn't really thought about her, assuming Yan was just playing around with him.
"I don't know. Maybe Mo Yi has fallen for you and wanted to sneak into your room," Yan said, giving Zhang Zheng a knowing look.
"Yan Jie, stop making things up," came a soft reprimand from behind Yan. It was Angel Mo Yi, the subject of the conversation.
Though Mo Yi scolded softly, to Zhang Zheng it sounded more like she was playfully complaining.
"Alright, Mo Yi. Now that Zhang Zheng is back, you had something to discuss with him, didn't you? You can say it now," Yan said, not waiting for Zhang Zheng or Mo Yi to respond before turning and heading towards Angel Zhui's room.
Mo Yi watched as Yan walked away, pouting in frustration. "Plastic sisters, are they all being sold off in bulk now? First Zhui sold me out yesterday, and now Yan Jie sold me out this morning."
At that moment, Mo Yi felt like crying internally.
"Um, um, my lord, I… I…" Mo Yi looked at Zhang Zheng, stumbling over her words and unable to articulate her thoughts.
How should she express it? Should she tell him she wanted to seduce him last night? Mo Yi was momentarily paralyzed, unsure how to start the conversation with Zhang Zheng.
Seeing Mo Yi's discomfort, Zhang Zheng smiled. Many of these angels were thousands of years old, but some still had a childlike innocence in their personalities.
If it were Angel Yan, she would have already changed the subject long ago.
"Good morning. Come over and have some breakfast with me," Zhang Zheng invited Mo Yi, helping her break the awkwardness.
Mo Yi, relieved that Zhang Zheng didn't press on with yesterday's matters, cheerfully walked to the table, pulled out a chair, and sat down. Without needing to be polite, she picked up a bun from the plate and started eating it.
"Lord, even though you've become a god, why do you still keep so many human habits?" Mo Yi asked as she ate, a question she had been holding back for a long time.
In her interactions with Zhang Zheng over the past two days, Mo Yi found him to be quite different from other gods she knew. Zhang Zheng didn't look down on ordinary people due to his divine status, nor did he elevate his position deliberately. He often just laughed off their antics and never really got angry, even though sometimes his patience was tested by the three little angels.
If Zhang Zheng's tolerance was just due to Zhixin, Mo Yi didn't believe it.
"Hehe, it's nothing much. I just feel that even after becoming a god, one shouldn't abandon their humanity. If you can't handle being human well, how can you handle being anything else?"
"Transitioning from humanity to divinity is a necessary process. As they say on TV, one can only let go after being attached, and one can only be free from attachment after having been attached."
"If you haven't grasped it, how can you let it go?" Zhang Zheng explained earnestly.
He didn't really understand this well; he just couldn't shake off human habits, but he couldn't admit that as it would make him seem too mundane.
Mo Yi didn't know Zhang Zheng's true thoughts but found his views on divinity and humanity very insightful, feeling an inexplicable admiration for him.
The conversation continued as Mo Yi shared her three-thousand-year battle experiences, and Zhang Zheng told her jokes from Earth. Despite their different worldviews, their interaction was surprisingly harmonious.
Meanwhile, Angel Yan had gone to Angel Zhui's room, where the two of them started a friendly discussion about having left Mo Yi outside.
"Yan Jie, isn't it a bit unfair to leave Mo Yi outside?" Angel Zhui said.
She had also considered going out, but knowing Yan's tendency to place blame, Zhui realized anyone who went out would be put in the same position. This wasn't a matter of intuition but from years of experience with Yan.
Zhui hadn't expected Mo Yi to be so forgetful as to venture out at such a time.
"Ah Zhui, don't worry. You left Mo Yi outside yesterday, so what's the difference if I did the same today? Besides, Mo Yi was the one knocking on the door yesterday. What's wrong with leaving her outside?" Yan said nonchalantly.
Yan had no qualms about leaving her good friend Mo Yi outside. Even if Mo Yi wasn't the one who knocked, as Yan's subordinate, she should be willing to take the hit for Yan, just as Kesha sacrificed her three lovely little angels for her own amusement.
So, inspired by Kesha's example, Yan had no guilt about making Mo Yi suffer a little.
