Three hundred years ago, the earth's tectonic plates moved to form one big supercontinent.
All countries were combined to form one country called Ceistrica, with the old countries losing their original names.
The United States is now known as Saint Louis, China is now named Zhenhai, Europe is called Leeuwsingen, and so on.
After Ceistrica was born, conflicts became unavoidable. Wars ravaged the land, with hundreds dying each day.
The leaders of that time were greedy, seizing the opportunity to avoid wasting resources by crossing vast oceans to invade their enemies – something they had never thought possible.
War ravaged the land for the next hundred years until a hero was born. This hero single-handedly ended all the wars occurring on the land before beheading all the leaders of that time with his sword.
He then became the sole leader of Ceistrica, King Dorian Silverblade.
"Evan, would you please tell us who the current King of Ceistrica is?" A woman questioned. She wore a formal suit and stood in front of a group of students, talking and writing on a whiteboard.
The woman waited a couple of seconds but did not hear an answer. Taking her eyes off the whiteboard she turns to see Evan sleeping on his desk.
"This boy..." The woman took up a long ruler that seems to have broken numerous times before walking towards Evan causing the students to pay extra attention to the lesson.
Slam!
The ruler slammed hard on Evan's desk, just a couple of inches away from his face causing a stinging feeling to etch on his soft cheeks.
The ruler snapped apart, but not before sending its message. Evan's shoulders trembled, his eyes wide awake before he instinctively raised his head, straightening his back on his chair.
Holding his cheek that was burning from the sting, he felt like something similar happened before.
Evan raised his head to look at the person who dared to hit him with rage bursting out of his eyeballs.
He was pissed. After what occurred last night, Evan was not in the mood for school right now and yet he came either way.
For one, he couldn't come up with a valid excuse to skip school for a couple of days. Two, he did not want to miss today's class. It was Wednesday, the day most of his teachers chose to give valuable study material, rather than kill them with activities for the whole day.
When he arrived at school and sat on his chair, everything that happened this morning couldn't help but flash into his mind causing a headache.
'A sudden fiancé came out of nowhere. What did my parents see me as back then? Some tool they can utilize for their own benefits?' Reminded of Alexandra Warrens, he lay his face on his desk, hiding it within his hands.
'She is pretty though.' Evan thought to himself with a flustered look as her figure came into his mind.
He quickly shook those thoughts out of his head. After what his adoptive father said, Evan was so mad he ran out of the house much like Amber, and quickly got a taxi, running away from all his problems.
In reality, Evan wasn't mad about having a fiancé. I mean who wouldn't like a fiancé as beautiful as Alexandra Warrens? Not to mention how influential her family is in Francis Bay. Even if she doesn't like him, he could brag to all his friends that he has a pretty girl willing to marry him.
What he really was mad about was her powers. Being mad was even an exaggeration on his part, what he really is was confused.
The battle last night was just bizarre. It's nothing compared to the Mount Phantom Disaster of 2015, in fact, it could even be considered mild in comparison to it.
Nevertheless, the battle left a lasting impression on Evan. Especially, Alexandra who is the first human he saw using supernatural powers to confront the demons.
'Could the last explosion in the disaster five years ago be the result of a human fighting against a very strong demon?' Evan had just gotten to this question when a stinging feeling rose up on his cheek.
"Teacher Holmes." Evan said respectfully, but his eyes said differently. Sofie Holmes, his geography teacher is the most hated teacher at Mount Phantom High School. Not only is she a very strict teacher, but her methods of discipline are too torturous, something you won't usually see at a high school.
It's as if she treated her students as prisoners whose only purpose is to be punished, like a masochist or something.
"Why are you not paying attention?!" Teacher Holmes yelled, seeing through Evan's attitude. Noticing his eyes show zero respect, she swung her ruler at Evan's face.
Evan nonchalantly raised his hand and caught the ruler before forcefully yanking it out of her hand.
"You!" Not expecting this turn of events, Teacher Holmes was shocked before shouting.
"You what? Did you expect me to just let you slap me? My father didn't raise me to be humiliated by a woman of your standards." Evan sneered, in his raging eyes a hint of coldness revealed. If that ruler managed to hit him, he would be putting great shame on the teaching Lionel Duncan taught him.
"I am the teacher— what do you mean by of my standards? Do you know I can get you expelled for assaulting a teacher?!" She couldn't help but stutter. She was enraged by Evan who she thought was calling her ugly, but sensing danger in Evan's gaze she stepped back, her eyes deceiving her as she saw - felt a fierce feeling coming from beside him.
Sam with his link with Evan could feel his fury became unhappy too.
"What crap are you saying?" Evan was astonished before saying, "When did I assault you?"
"I agree with Evan! Even though you are a teacher, I as the Student President cannot allow you to abuse your position against a student!" Marc rose from his seat and shouted in defense of Evan.
"Yeah, Teacher Holmes what did Evan do to deserve to be expelled other than taking a nap?!" A girl raised her voice too. Evan turned to see it was his second best friend, April Raspberry.
"He was just taking a nap, all you had to do was wake him up! Not hit him!"
"These teachers these days are getting too abusive!"
"We should report all this to the principal!"
"Man frick the principal! If he's allowing someone like Teacher Holmes to continue teaching here then we should report this to the Secretary of Education instead!"
"I bet she's giving the old man heads!"
"If that's the case, let's just report her to the police! It's way easier that way!"
With Marc and April's few words, the students form a riot. Not only do they hate this teacher, but also can't stand seeing Evan getting bullied.
If Marc is the most popular student in the whole school, then Evan is the second most popular and this wasn't due to his looks, but his mastery in combat.
He created a group called Kendo Club, an alliance against bullying in the school. Using this as a method to impart his adoptive father's training to those in need.
Because of this, you either hate him, like him, or admire him. The haters come from the bullies who cannot do anything against him or those in the Kendo Club.
10-A became extremely loud causing students and teachers to question what was going on over there.
"All of you quiet down!" Teacher Holmes seeing the class become unruly became mad, but also afraid. If a teacher were to see this they would not allow her to get away with this without mocking her to the end of time.
"I said shut up!" She shouted, becoming visibly more angry. Her facial expressions became unsightly due to how angry she was.
"All of you stop talking."
"..."
Another voice, though young entered the classroom. When this voice spoke it sounded like a divine decree. Everyone immediately became silent, turning to the voice to see a young lady standing at the front door.
"Who is she?" A boy whispered to another student.
"I dunno, but what I do know is she's hot as hell." The student gulped, feeling a feverish heat rising to his head.
"Is she new here?"
"Look at her uniform. She's a senior."
"Senior as in grade 11 or 12?"
"What is a senior doing on the grade 10 block in the middle of class time?"
"She's so pretty..."
"This has to be a nightmare." Evan without looking knew who it was and couldn't help but once more bury his head onto his desk.
"Why is she here?" Evan whispered to himself. The girl was obviously Alexandra Warrens.
"As a teacher you caused your class to become a ruckus. Do you know the sound of their shouts could be heard all across the school?" She inquired, placing her hands across the front of her chest with a serious attitude as if she were the teacher there.
"What do you know? Get out of here, I have this under control!" Teacher Holmes yelled wondering who this student was to be calling her out like this.
"Did you? Because to me, it looks like you were having a hard time." Alexandra could not help but laugh, covering her mouth in the process. Her eyes revealed a hint of contempt.
"You— who are you to be speaking to me like this?! I am the teacher here, you're just a nobody student!" Teacher Holmes took a good look at the girl before becoming even more visibly angry.
"I am just a nobody student as you call it." Alexandra chuckled before her expression turned ice cold.
"However, my aunt is the new principal of this school. If you want to keep your job you'd speak to me with some respect." She stated as a matter of fact.
"Badass!"
"You go girl!"
"I think I am in love!"
The classroom became lively once more.
"Y- You are Alexandra Warrens!" Teacher Holmes stuttered, a hint of fright revealing itself in her eyes. She quickly recalls seeing the old principal getting his butt kicked off his position by a woman known as Marcia Warrens, a young girl beside her in senior uniform, Alexandra Warrens.
The old principal was literally kicked off his position, resembling a scene from a comedy, which she found both funny and curious.
So she searched the school forum and found out who those two were. When she realized the two were from the prestigious Warren Family she promised herself to behave during her time at school.
Unfortunately for her, she could not hide her true nature for too long. Evan just taking a sleep provoked her to cause some drama by attempting to hit him.
"I am sorry for any misconduct I have committed!" Teacher Holmes realizing who she was dealing with shuddered before bowing three times as if she were in the presence of a queen.
This made the students quiet down once more. They were stunned beyond their imaginations. They found it hard to believe this hateful teacher would lower their head to a student.
"It's good that you now know who you are dealing with." Alexandra nodded her head before disregarding the woman.
Finding Evan, she walked towards him causing the boy to have a bad feeling.
"Evan don't think our conversation this morning would end just because you choose to run away." She declared in front of everyone.
"Alexandra..." Evan muttered, he could feel piercing gazes filled with jealousy around him.
"I won't accept a no as an answer." She uttered firmly.
"Can we take this somewhere else..." Evan sighed, at this time he wanted to find a hole to bury himself in.
Noticing Evan becoming uncomfortable, she unwillingly accepted. "Very Well."
Holding his hand, she dragged him outside of the classroom.
Moments after they left an uproar was heard, this time louder than the last.
"Evan you bastard!"
"How could you treat your bros like this!"
"Don't let me see you again!"
"I'm going to kill you!"
