Chapter 3 - 003. the run

Seeing that Muna has collapsed, that was when it dawned on her that their family members were actually watching them.

With the fear of what her father was going to do to her, Muna ran out of the compound as fast as she could.

When Muna collapsed on the floor, Emgroge immediately stood up from his seat, but he never expected her to run out that fast.

He had always thought that having powers is what makes one superior to the other, but just now Muna, without any power, had just defeated her sister, who was seen as the strongest in their town.

Muna ran so fast without focusing on the road.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" Acumen yelled at Muna as she collided with him.

As Muna collided with Acumen, due to the force of the collision, Muna was about to fall backward, but Acumen pulled her towards him like a magnet attracts an object, and their lips touched each other, and a strange sort of energy, more like an electric current, passed through their bodies.

Muna's heartbeat accelerated, and she could not breathe properly anymore, with her eyes wide open, she stared directly into the brown almond eyes of Acumen.

Muna freed herself from the kiss, but the ground was slippery due to the rain that had fallen during the night, and Muna was about to fall, but she was caught by Acumen.

Acumen stared at her big, rare green eyes, and he couldn't lie, he hadn't seen anyone as pretty as Muna in his entire life, and with the way his body was feeling, his heartbeat, only one word came through his mind: "my soulmate," Acumen said inwardly as he kept staring at those beautiful eyes of hers and down to her lips.

"Stop staring and let go of me," Muna said arrogantly.

"If you say so," Acumen said, and he let go of Muna, and she fell directly into the mud.

"Why did you do that? I only asked you to let go of me," Muna said as she tried to stand up.

"You said I should let go, and I did just that. Next time, you should say how you want it to be done," Acumen said as he laughed.

"What's so funny, you idiot?" Muna cursed as she tried to stand up for the fourth time, but as always, she kept falling back into the mud.

"Don't worry, let me help you out of it," Acumen said, but Muna refused. She crawled out of it, since that's the only way out for her.

Looking at Acumen, she had the craziest idea.

"Thanks for preventing me from falling. I really appreciate it, you're my hero," Muna said as she hugged Acumen.

"It's nothing really. Sorry for letting you fall down, I actually forgot that there's mud water at your... wait a minute, did you just hug me with that dirty body of yours?" Acumen said as he pushed her away, but it was already too late, his clothes had been soiled already.

"Hey, you be careful with me. Don't you dare push me like that again, and for soiling your clothes, you soiled mine first," Muna said arrogantly.

"If not for one thing, I would have beaten you up, idiot, but I promised my mom not to lay hands on fine girls, but you are pushing me too far," Acumen said as he watched Muna make faces at him.

"When you're done talking nonsense, you can leave my town," Muna said as she walked away.

"Hey, wait for me. I don't have anywhere to change my clothes. Can you help me, please?" Acumen said as he chased after her.

"Do you love me that much that you can't stay without following me behind?" Muna teased.

"I don't love, in your dreams would I ever love such an ugly duckling," Acumen said, but from afar, Muna saw her father's guard coming towards their direction.

She knew her dad was looking for her, and to prevent them from spotting her, she held Acumen's neck and kissed him. The guard passed them by, but Acumen broke the kiss and pushed Muna away from him, and one of the guards saw them.

"Look at her there!" the guard shouted, and Muna had no other choice but to run, and she had to drag Acumen along with her. They had already seen the two of them together, and if Acumen refused to comply, they would arrest him because they would think their two had a secret place and also see him as her boyfriend.

"You would have said you loved me that much rather than you playing all those silly tricks you always play," Acumen said.

"Hey, you mind what you say to me. Don't forget you're in my city, you watch..." Muna spotted the guard coming towards their way and she stopped her statement.

"I should watch my..." Muna did not let Acumen finish his statement before she covered his mouth and dragged him to a safer ground.

"You're such a loud mouth, and it's not good for a boy to talk too much. Trust me, it's not good," Muna advised as she walked deeper into the bush.

"Why is it so hard for you to admit the truth that you're actually crushing on me, young lady?" Acumen said when he turned to look at Muna, but Muna had already walked a long distance away from him.

"Wait for me, hey you girl, aren't you hearing what I'm saying?" Acumen shouted as he chased after Muna.

When he got close to where Muna was, she reminded him of the advice she had given him.

"It's not good for a man to be talking too much."

"Oh, my God, is that water?" Acumen shouted.

"No, how can that be water? It's urine. Your behavior is very local," Muna said as she placed one of her feet into the water before the other.

"Wash yourself over there, while I wash myself on this side," Muna instructed.

After washing herself, she walked out of the water. She had to wait for Acumen.
