Chapter 14
Virtual space
"What is this," Jarvis stared at the faint golden hue coming from the panel, scrutinising the golden light.
"Should I try to open it," he looked at the golden hue that was slowly covering the entire translucent panel, as if growing. Sometimes, it would glow brightly, sometimes emit a faint golden light
"Due to the current system trend, it has been giving me rewards because of the fight with Sylvia, maybe this is one of them" Jarvis considered the possibility of it being a reward and it was quite high
"The system won't harm me, right? After all, I am the Host it was assigned to, and even if there's a certain risk attached, it'll only mean the rewards that follow will be bountiful."
"Thinking so much on such a matter will only result in migraines," After pondering for the time it took an incense stick to burn, Jarvis made up his mind.
His eyes focused on the source of the faint golden hue on the panel then he muttered softly, "Open,"
[System creating independent, virtual space in progress.....]
[System creating independent, virtual space in progress.....]
[System creating independent, virtual space in progress.....]
[System has successfully created an independent, virtual space]
[System optimising virtual space....]
[System optimising virtual space....]
[System optimising virtual space....]
[Optimization of virtual space has been successful]
[Independent, Virtual space is now accessible for use by the Host]
[System proceeding according to the task given by the Host]
The golden glow increased intensely, the bright light causing Jarvis to instinctively close his eyes, still the light made his way to him.
The golden glow slowly turned tangible, forming a portal that drew Jarvis in. Jarvis felt as if his whole mind was turning blank in an instant.
"Sylvia help," in horror, Jarvis screamed out, he never expected that things could escalate to this level. Sadly, before he could finish his sentence, he was already completely submerged
This all happened in the time it took to draw a breath, Jarvis consciousness was wavering throughout the time he saw the golden portal, and now the feeling was stronger as he was passing through. Jarvis could faintly see the end of the portal.
"Spit!"
The portal threw Jarvis out, he fell but quickly propped himself up, his keen eyes sweeping through the surrounding.
"What is this place?" Jarvis stared awestruck at what he saw, "Is the whole place golden?" Jarvis looked around, and all he could see was the golden glow.
The walls, ground, top, and even the pillars were gold. In essence, the whole place was made out of gold, the whole place was empty, devoid of furniture's or objects.
After Jarvis got a good grasp of his surroundings, he decided to look at his panel once more. "Open," unlike before, Jarvis's stats were not shown on the screen. Instead, a single message popped up on the empty screen.
[System welcomes Host to the Virtual space]
Jarvis stared at the message shown on the screen "System welcomes me? Virtual space?" The somewhat puzzled Jarvis noticed the system was a bit different.
"System, what is this place?" Jarvis thought puzzled by the system's change still ceased the opportunity to learn where he was.
[Responding to Host... Host is currently in the system's Independent Virtual Space, a multipurpose and multifunctional room that can only be activated by a 'True-Host']
"Virtual space, huh? System, can you tell me what it's for and why I'm here." Jarvis read the prompts swiftly
[Responding to the Host.... The Virtual Space is a dimensional space that is only activated when a Host has attained a hidden achievement]
[Responding to the Host...The Virtual space main function is to deepen the sync between the system and the Host and to reform the preliminary system to one suited to the Host predicament and goal]
[Only after fully syncing with the system, can the Host leave this space]
[System has successfully detected Host Recent Hidden achievement: Host has found a drawback to the attributes allocated and has successfully been rewarded with the ability: 'Game Body']
[Reward temporarily withheld till syncing]
[System has successfully detected Host Recent Hidden achievement: Host has fought with an unbeatable enemy 'Sylvia' and has successfully survived the ordeal. The system has rewarded the host: 'Mission Accessibility Panel']
[Reward temporarily withheld till syncing]
Jarvis was quick-witted and had fully grasped the situation he was in, "System, so as long as I can sync with you and the reformation has taken place, I will be able to leave this place," Jarvis asked wanting some affirmation.
[Yes Host]
"System, the rewards you withheld, will they be granted to me after the syncing and reformation." Jarvis seemed affirmation once more, he wouldn't want his hard earned rewards to go to waste.
[Yes Host, does the Host wish to start syncing?]
[Note:(The process of syncing and reformation is excruciatingly painful, with a possibility of black out and has a certain chance of failure depending on the number of hidden achievements and how significant the achievements are.)]
Seeing the first prompt, Jarvis breathed out a sigh, relieved at the sight, but looking at the prompt that followed, he could only let out a wry smile. "At this point, it's not as if I have a choice anymore, or else Marco and Sylvia may go on a killing spree,"
"System, proceed with the Syncing," Jarvis said with anticipation.
[System proceeding with syncing...]
[System proceeding with syncing...]
[System proceeding with syncing...]
[System has started Syncing with the Host]
Looking at the prompts, Jarvis couldn't help but chuckle like a pervert "Hehe, here I come, 'Game Body.' 'Mission Accessibility Panel."'
