Orlando Bloom lit a cigarette as he exited the theater. He watched The Revenant and felt like the movie was good but not great. Perhaps the selling point was Hugh Glass' wrestling with a grizzly bear and Orlando admitted that it was terrifying.
His heart beat fast watching that scene. The grizzly bear was a dangerous beast and Orlando witnessed how Hugh Glass got bodied by the creature.
Kazir was a great director but it didn't mean that he could always make great movies. The CCU movies and Spider-Man were great, but Kazir also filmed the first John Wick and Napoleon Dynamite. Both movies were mid in terms of box office.
Even someone like Kazir could never make consistent success at the box office.
Orlando Bloom was wearing sunglasses despite the dark night. He was a famous actor now that Lord Of The Rings became successful. People easily recognized him, although they usually call him Legolas... This was the curse of getting unforgettable roles.
Matt Damon was known for being Jason Bourne and people sometimes call him Jason Bourne.
Even Robert Downey Jr. was sometimes called Iron Man/Mr. Stark.
Some people recognized Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, and some people knew his real name. He was more known as Jack Sparrow.
This was the current problem that Orlando Bloom was facing. He was thankful that Lord Of The Rings was successful and he had a better position in the industry. But he also understood that his career was just getting started and he hadn't proved a thing except for being a handsome guy.
He needed another role that could save him from his predicament. He knew that The Lord Of The Rings only had a trilogy and his fame would disappear once the Lord Of The Rings trilogy was done.
Smoking a stick of cigarette slightly eased his heart, knowing that his time in this industry would end if he didn't do something.
He recalled his co-star Viggo Mortensen. Viggo's status in Hollywood was far better than him. Lord Of The Rings and John Wick gave the actor to level up his salary, and now he received many jobs with a $10 million starting salary. How great was that?
The Lord Of The Rings might be over but John Wick was different. This franchise could be milked for many years. If Viggo slowly lost his influence, he could just start another John Wick movie... Orlando was jealous of that fact.
Because he didn't have any franchise to latch on to. Once he made a mistake, his career was over. The cast of CCU was very fortunate because they could have jobs whenever they wanted to.
"Continental Cinematic Universe..."
Orlando Bloom muttered after he stepped on the cigarette that he finished puffing.
Orlando actually had a chance to become part of the CCU but he didn't get the role. He auditioned for the role of Wesley Gibson and he believed he had a chance, he was quite excited and happy about it.
Unfortunately, Ben Affleck took the role and the outcome was making Orlando envious.
Actually, Orlando Bloom was also a cast of Black Hawk Down just like Tom Hardy. Yet now, Tom Hardy had a chance to work with Director Grey and Tom Hardy's performance was amazing in The Revenant.
'Wanted and The Revenant...' Orlando shook his head.
Wanted became the 3rd movie that surpassed $1 billion at the box office! It was an amazing movie and people loved it.
If Orlando had a chance, he wanted to return to the past and correct his mistake. He didn't care if he lowered his salary to $100,000, Wanted was his entrance to stardom and he was ready to sacrifice his first salary just for that.
Now, Orlando heard that Wanted 2 was in the process of pre-production and the director would be Fremont Smith.
Orlando could not help but sigh. He was jealous and he admitted it. This year, he only had Legolas as his source of income... The amount was great but he wanted more. You know, as a person who lived in the expensive city of Los Angeles, he knew that he needed more money to survive.
He rented a nice apartment but he still hasn't had his own house.
He thought of signing any kind of commercial just to earn more. Shampoo commercials, shaving creams, jeans, anything that could make him money.
As he stepped into the parking lot, he realized that his phone was ringing. It was from his agent. Orlando hoped that it would be good news.
"Frank, yes it's me. Hm, I just left the cinema. Of course I'm wearing sunglasses... Yes, some people are confused why I'm wearing sunglasses but they didn't bother me. What? You think I look like a junkie because I'm wearing sunglasses!? Bulshit, with my handsome face, nobody will think of that. So? What's the reason why you called me late at night?"
Orlando just opened his car when his agent told him something interesting.
"A script? What kind of script? A pirate movie!? Frank, I know that I just started acting 5 years ago but it doesn't mean that I'm clueless. I know that pirate movies are cursed movies, no one in Hollywood is crazy enough to film the genre. So why did you even tell me about this useless pirate script?"
Orlando frowned because his agent called him for something useless.
However, the next statement that his agent said to him caught his attention.
"... You're not joking, right? Director Grey wrote the script and he wants me to audition for a role?"
When Orlando heard about it, his attention was immediately rekindled.
He knew that pirate movies were bad so he wanted to read the script first before taking action. Still, he admitted that he was interested in working with Kazir Grey.
He entered the car and decided to go to WMA headquarters to talk to his agent and read the script. By the way, WMA stands for William Morris Agency and everyone knows that Kazir and WMA had some bad blood...
