Gale and the princess unlike the last team were travelling on relatively solid land with the lair of their own prey in sight. "So princess you know the drill; you draw its attention while I shoot" Gale said as they drew closer to the entrance of the lair. "Who dares intrude on my lair" said a hoarse voice. "You have overstayed your welcome, Lizard Gale answered as he and the princess took up their battle position. "We lizards were here first before you vile morsels appeared "snickered the crimson Komodo whose claws were dripping with acid. The lizard seemingly turned into a blur dodging some black tentacles that surged from the ground. Diamond rushed forward delivering a series of slashes and stabs, the komodo dodged the slashes retaliating with a claw strike that Diamond sidestepped. "So that's the plan" remarked the Komodo as four arrows embedded in its chest. Gale suddenly sensed a slight change in the air flowing around him. "Not good" he thought as a red silhouette swiped at him acid spewing everywhere. Gale jumped some meters into the air evading the sneak attack. The komodo however jumped up after him claws outstretched, but came crashing down with dark tentacles wrapping around him.
Gale used the opportunity to shoot more arrows at the fallen komodo.He and Diamond approached the now bleeding komodo with a bit of apprehension for it looked like the whole thing ended too quickly. "That was easy" Gale said as he drew an arrow. "I'll decapitate its head just to be sure" Diamond said as her sword took on a black luster. "I don't think so" shouted the bleeding lizard as some crimson Komodos appeared from the pools of blood on the floor. "D rank clones? That's a bit too powerful for a B rank "Gale thought as it dawned on him that maybe this komodo was actually the A rank that Boaruss and Lee were meant to hunt.The clones wasted no time and began to rush the duo with full force. Gale had switched to his saber as he and Diamond wasted no time in hacking and slashing the blood clones. Though to their obvious dismay the clones after being destroyed kept on joining back. "You'll have to find the main body and kill it" Gale said as his eyes took on a silver hue. "Fine don't die just yet "Diamond said as she slashed out a path for herself. "It's just you guys and me huh? Gale said as countless wind blades surged from all direction cutting the clones into countless pieces. "Now I don't have to worry about the princess" Gale added with a smirk. Diamond followed the trail of blood and a few broken arrows left by the komodo into an eerie part of the swamp. More clones rose from the blood trail rushing at the princess tongues hanging from their crimson mouths. Diamond knew the beast was nearby and was simply waiting like Gale earlier for a chance to strike. All she needed to do was to set a trap. She continued to attack the blood clones all the while leaving her left side not so well defended.
"Foolish girl she thinks I will fall for a trap so easily set" growled the Komodo flickering his forked tongue. "I will simply attack her head on with such a speed that she will not have time to defend" added the lizard as he slowly emerged from his hiding place. The komodo finally saw his chance when Diamond was busy engaging some more powerful blood clones. "I only have one chance for this" the Komodo thought for his clones were formed out of his own blood, and considering the number of them fighting he had already lost a large deal of it. The Komodo roared rushing out and seemingly turning into a blur, appeared in front of Diamond only for him to bite nothing but thin air. "Something is wrong "the Komodo thought looking up at his already headless body before everything turned dark. "People and creatures with limited options, always take the easiest option" Diamond said out loud picking the Komodos head with a look of disgust on her face. "Not so bad Princess" Gale said as he came closer blood covering his entire body. "The question that remains, however is; if we fought the A rank just now, what rank is the lizard that Boaruss and Lee are hunting?" Gale asked with a frown. "That won't be a problem, even an S rank beast wouldn't be able to kill those two easily" Diamond said tossing the Komodos head at the assassin. "Rude" remarked Gale as he caught the head.
