Chapter 2 - The Rumors

Marquis Dyke is someone who led his troops to victory in the Frontier series. King Aperto was never disappointed with the results Marquis Dyke brought, it was just that the secretive behavior of the Dyke family made the king dislike him less.

Marquis Dyke has two children, Phel Van Dyke and Selena Van Dyke. Phel is the current head of the family because his father, Marquis Dyke, is weak in bed. Not only because of his age, but also because his once strong body has begun to weaken due to war missions in various regions.

"Selena, you have to make sure who will accompany you!" Phel said during dinner.

"I have no intention of getting married, big brother," Selena replied casually.

"Huh... Selena, try to remember your current position, you are a woman, you will not get a noble title if you don't marry someone," Phel explained, clearly worried about his sister's position.

"Sister, I will stay with you until we are both old," Selena said, smiling at her sister.

Phel couldn't hide her excitement, she loved Selena more than anything, "But you can't be jealous of your sister-in-law," Phel teased her sister.

"That's not going to happen, I'm actually going to be very happy because I'm going to have a sister, nowadays it's very popular to exchange accessories with sisters," Selena replied.

"Ha ha ha, don't ever do that," Phel said with a laugh.

The capital of Aperto is a busy place, many nobles live in the capital. Just like a normal neighborhood, there were rumors everywhere.

"You know what? I heard that Miss Selena Dyke is after the Crown Prince," said one of the ladies known as Miss Erinyes from the Marquis Goth family.

While drinking her tea, another lady who looked more influential answered Miss Erinyes' question. "Miss Erinyes, are you no longer afraid of the tip of the sword that Miss Selena keeps swinging back and forth?" she asked.

"Ah, I just want to ask the truth, Miss Ive, there is no way that the Miss Selena we know would do such a base thing, is there?" Erinyes tried to argue.

"It's a good thing you still love your neck, Miss Erinyes," said Miss Ive, daughter of Duke Marionette and friend of Selena, whose position was clearly higher than Erinyes'.

"Huh, do I have to tell Selena about this rumor? I don't even know who started it," Ive said in her heart.

...

At Duke Poli's residence, Isabella was seen enjoying her hot tea with some snacks on her table. A servant approached Isabella and whispered, "Miss, I started the rumors," said the servant wearing a black and white shirt.

Isabella smiled proudly at what her servant had done, she reached for a beautiful brooch with a jewel in the center and said, "Buy yourself a nice meal with this, ah you can even give the rest to your family," said Isabella.

"Thank you, madam!" the waiter said happily.

"This way I can continue to serve Miss Isabella, and she will be brought to the palace after she marries the crown prince," the servant said to himself.

Shortly after the servant's message, Isabella received many letters of support from nobles her own age. Isabella seemed pleased with the reaction of the nobles at the time.

"This is your punishment Selena, although I know this is all because of the Crown Prince's attitude towards me, but you deserve it too, and stay away from the Crown Prince," Isabella said with a grin.

Not many people know the true nature of Isabella Poli, as her debutante Isabella is known as a graceful, weak and kind figure. But underneath it all, Isabella often makes cunning plans to make herself more prominent than her opponents, especially since her father's position, very close to King Aperto, makes it easy for Isabella.

At the Crown Prince's residence where the palace exercises were held, there was a dashing man in his long-sleeved black shirt. The thin shirt showed off his muscular curves, his broad chest was filled with masculine muscles, and his sexy abdomen revealed very sensual abs. His red hair and eyes made him look more charming than anyone else there.

"Keep practicing until the sun goes down! Even though there are no enemies coming to our borders right now, we must always be prepared for any situation! Understand?" said the man who was known as Cesare.

"Yes!" replied all the soldiers who were practicing.

"Mr. Cesare!" someone shouted behind Cesare.

Cesare turned and looked for the source of the voice, "Hoi!" replied Cesare.

"Sir, the Crown Prince has summoned you to his study," said the servant who served the Crown Prince.

"Hm? The Crown Prince? Why is Helio looking for me?" asked Cesare in astonishment.

"You'd better hurry, sir," said the servant.

Cesare hurried to Helio's study, before putting on his clothes, for the training clothes were not appropriate for the palace.

...

In Helio's room there was a knock at the door and the voice of the servant from outside, "His Highness the Crown Prince, Mr. Cesare Hennel Tropium has arrived," said Helio's servant.

"Come in, Cesare!" said Helio.

Cesare entered Helio's room, "Cesare Hennel Tropium greets the little sun in this great kingdom," Cesare said, bowing his body.

"No need to be formal, we are not in public, behave as usual!" Helio ordered.

"Huh." Cesare breathed a sigh of relief, "I thought you were going to call me for this," Cesare continued.

"Ha-ha-ha, no my friend Cesare," Helio replied with a laugh.

"So what else do you want, Helio? Are you going to tell me to go somewhere else to buy flowers and put them in Dyke's house? I'm tired of doing that my friend Helio," Cesare said.

"No no, I just want you to meet Selena, deliver Hadian and this letter, I trust you my friend, only you won't report this to my father right?" asked Helio, confirming Cesare's loyalty.

"Huh, Helio," Cesare snorted lazily, "well, I hope this is the last time, I don't want to be moved from my current position, you know that right? So before the king finds out what we're doing, let's end this right now," Cesare continued.

"Yeah, man, I promise this is the last time," Helio said confidently.

Cesare went to the Dyke residence on his horse, the small bag and the letter Helio had sent to Selena weren't too heavy so he didn't need a carriage.

"Hah, for a year I've been doing this ridiculous thing for Helio, if only there wasn't the word friend between us, maybe I wouldn't be doing it," Cesare grumbled as he spurred his horse. "By the way, what kind of woman is Miss Selena? Why does Helio like her so much?" continued Cesare, who did not know Selena very well and had never really looked at her face.
