Chapter 4 - Selena's engagement plan

"Strong but fragile," Cesare said to himself. "Dandelions," Cesare said.

"What?" Selena cleared her hearing.

"No, you just look like a dandelion, well then, my future wife, let's continue the tour," said Cesare, who immediately understood Selena's feelings.

Selena's face turned red as Cesare made a strange request of her.

"This way, please!" said Selena.

...

The garden of the Dyke residence.

"This garden is usually used for gatherings like tea and so on," Selena said to Cesare.

"What made you agree to this arranged marriage?" asked Cesare, who seemed not to care about Selena's explanation.

"Huh..." Selena let out a harsh breath.

"After here, we can look to the south, where there is a sword training ground," Selena explained, ignoring Cesare's question.

"I completely understand your relationship with 'that guy' (Helio), but why did you agree to this arranged marriage? You should be against it, right? Even when I look at you, you are not someone who would find it difficult to swing your sword at the Marquis," Cesare was still asking annoying questions.

Selena stopped her steps and looked sharply at Cesare, "Then shouldn't you also run away from here? Instead of continuing this tour?" asked Selena,

"Hmm, I wonder why I didn't run away from this arranged marriage? Is it because I want to pick those dandelions?" Cesare really annoyed Selena at that time.

"Pick up the pace, we'd better get back inside!" ordered Selena, walking ahead of Cesare.

"Wait! Shouldn't we go to the sword training ground?" asked Cesare as he followed Selena, but Cesare's chatter was now unheard by Selena.

....

At the Crown Prince's castle, Helios was having tea with Isabella,

"Your Highness the Crown Prince, have you heard any rumors lately?" Isabella asked Helio,

"Rumors? About our relationship?" asked Helio.

"That's right, Your Highness, I am very worried about Miss Selena, she is being blamed for our relationship not going smoothly. Even though I never felt any irregularities during our engagement, didn't I, Your Highness?" explained Isabella, clearly trying to win Helio's heart.

"Selena? Is there really such a rumor?" asked Helio, not sure.

"Of course, Your Highness, ah, perhaps Your Highness's servant did not tell you this because of Your Highness's good relationship with Miss Selena," Isabella replied.

"Then we must help Selena immediately," Helio said enthusiastically.

"Oh, no need, Your Highness, I heard there will be a wedding at the Marquis Dyke's residence soon," Isabella explained, "How is Helio? Aren't you curious who the groom is?" said Isabella in her heart.

"Marriage? Are you referring to the newly appointed Marquis Dyke?" asked Helio with a surprised expression.

"Oh of course not your highness, Miss Selena's wedding is about to begin, does your highness not know about this news? In fact, the groom is the closest person to your majesty," Isabella continued to provoke Helio so that he felt victimized by his closest person.

"What, who do you mean? Don't beat around the bush Isabella," said Helio who was starting to get angry.

"Ahh your highness, I just want to tell you this but because of my lack of courage, I sound rambling, forgive me your highness," said Isabella with a sad face, a face that always made Helio unable to bear to hurt Isabella even just to cancel their engagement.

"Argh, no Isabella I'm sorry, I didn't mean to speak harshly to you," Helio lowered his tone.

Isabella, who was pretending to be sad, answered Helio's question with a sob, "Mr. Cesare, the only son of the grand Duke of Tropium who will marry the noble lady Selena,"

Immediately Helio widened his eyes, he could not believe that the person he trusted so much had stabbed him in the back.

"Selena, Cesare, why did you betray me? Why Cesare? I even trusted you so much, right?" Helio said in his heart.

"Your Highness, are you okay?" asked Isabella.

"Yes, I'm fine, Isabella has urgent business, so I have to go to my study first," Helio said, then left Isabella.

"Huh... What about Your Highness? Will you call your cousin this time? And tell him to cancel the wedding that won't even take place soon?" Isabella said with a grin.

....

In Helio's study.

"Call Cesare!" Helio ordered his servant.

After a while the servant came with Cesare. "Cesare Hennel Tropium greets the little sun in this great kingdom," said Cesare, who had guessed that sooner or later Helio would find out about the rumors of his marriage to Selena.

"Cesare, my friend, are you hiding something from me?" asked Helio with a sharp look.

"Huh, have you heard?" asked Cesare, who immediately changed his expression.

"Are you trying to betray me?" asked Helio.

"Helio, try to think about it, in the future there will be someone you trust very much next to someone you love very much," explained Cesare.

"Cesare! Do you really want to marry Selena?" Helio began to get angry and approached Cesare.

"Helio, to be honest, I'm very sorry for Miss Selena, she's been hit by bad rumors thanks to your and Isabella's relationship which is not progressing, let's solve this problem slowly. I will marry Selena to silence the rumors, while you end your relationship with Isabella and return to Selena when the time is right," said Cesare, trying to make a deal with Helio.

"You're right Cesare, you wouldn't betray me that easily, would you?" Helio asked Cesare for confirmation.

"Of course, you know I've been living with a sword all this time, I don't know how to treat women, so calm down mate!" replied Cesare confidently.

Helio now felt calm and was about to finalize his plan with Isabella.

....

Dyke Residence.

"Miss, your wedding is in two weeks, are you all right?" asked Aunt Grace.

Selena, who was embroidering a handkerchief, stopped and turned to Aunt Grace. "I'm fine, Aunt Grace," Selena replied with a smile.

"Miss Selena, let me comb your hair," Aunt Grace asked. Selena smiled and allowed Aunt Grace to comb her hair, which wasn't tangled at all.

"Auntie, you're coming with me to the Grand Duke's residence, aren't you?" asked Selena as she looked out the window.

"I don't know, miss, does the Grand Duke allow you to bring a servant from the Dyke Residence? As far as I know, when a lady gets married, she only brings herself and her favorite things, no servants," Aunt Grace replied calmly as she combed Selena's black hair.

"Was Mama like that?" asked Selena,

"Of course, the Marchioness came here in a dashing manner, he remembers she was very stiff, not to mention Mr. Marquis who could only lift the sword. I hope Mr. Phel will treat his wife as well as Mr. Marquis," Aunt Grace recalled with tears in her eyes.
