Chapter 3 - Caesar Hennel Tropium

Cesare arrived at the residence of the Marquis Dyke.

"Ah, there is a knight of the realm," said one of the guards at the front gate of the Marquis Dyke's residence.

"I bring a message from His Highness the Crown Prince for Miss Selena Van Dyke," said Cesare.

They opened the door for Cesare while the servant, who had been informed of Cesare's arrival, immediately ran to Selena's room.

"Madam, there is a messenger from the palace with a message from the crown prince," the servant said.

"The crown prince? He's doing what he wants again, tell him to come in!" Selena replied.

Cesare also entered Selena's study, when he saw Selena's sharp eyes and the beautiful mole under her eyes, Cesare understood why Helio liked Selena so much.

"Why are you so silent?" asked Selena, interrupting Cesare's reverie.

"Ah, forgive me, I'm here to deliver a message from His Highness the Crown Prince, please accept it," Cesare said politely.

Selena rose from her seat and approached Cesare. Selena grabbed the gift box that Helio had sent along with the letter.

As soon as Selena opened the gift, she walked to the window of her study, "Tell His Highness the Crown Prince I like the gift," Selena said as she threw a beautiful diamond necklace out of the window.

"Miss," Cesare was surprised to see Selena throw away the gift from Helio, "What a woman," Cesare said to himself, "It would be a different situation if I sent this gift to Miss Isabella, right," Cesare continued.

"I will read this letter later, thank you and get out!" Selena said coldly.

Cesare is more and more curious about Selena's figure, he likes every sentence Selena says, even if it sounds impolite, but it shows Cesare Selena's freedom of life.

After delivering the message from Helio, Cesare continues to think about Selena, he is attracted by Selena's courage: "Even though I don't wear ordinary soldier's clothes, does she not see the gold on my clothes? Or does this woman have no fear at all?" muttered Cesare, sitting in his room.

....

Dyke Residence.

"I will marry Selena at once to put an end to these rumors," said Phel, Selena's sister.

"But, Mr. Marquis, shouldn't we ask Miss Selena first?" asked Cliff, the butler serving Phel, the new Marquis of the Dyke Residence.

"No need, I have already found a suitable candidate for Selena, I will send a message to the Grand Duke to marry his son to Selena, I am sure the Grand Duke will not object to this political marriage," said Phel, who intends to match Selena.

Phel immediately sent a letter to the Grand Duke.

....

The next day at the Grand Duke's residence.

"Marquis Dyke, I wasn't expecting such an invitation, call Cesare at once!" the Grand Duke of Tropium ordered his servant.

"Yes, Grand Duke," the servant went to Cesare's room.

"Young Master Cesare, butler Matt requests permission to enter," said the servant.

"Come in, Matt!" ordered Cesare, who was apparently preparing to go to the crown prince's palace.

"Young sir, the Grand Duke told you to get ready," Matt said politely.

"Of course Matt, I am getting ready to go to the crown prince's palace," Cesare replied casually.

"That's not what I meant, sir, but the Grand Duke is taking the young master somewhere," Matt explained.

"Somewhere?" asked Cesare in confusion.

....

A few hours later.

"Huh... Is this 'somewhere' you mean?" Cesare asked his father.

"Ha ha ha, of course, you don't want me to tell you where we're going?" the Grand Duke asked, laughing with amusement at his son's deception.

"Welcome Grand Duke Tropium, I am Phel Van Dyke and I greet you," said Phel as he bowed.

"Ha ha, our young marquis!" said the Grand Duke as he patted Phel on the shoulder. "Thank you for inviting us," he continued.

"Ha ha, no problem Grand Duke, please come in!" ordered Phel, who glanced at Cesare several times. "His muscular body looks like he has the stamina to match Selena," Phel continued in his heart.

In Phel's office.

"Cliff, call Selena!" Phel told him.

Cliff went to Selena's room, "Miss Selena, Mr. Marquis is calling you," Cliff said.

"Did they come?" asked Selena with a flat face.

"Yes, miss, the Grand Duke of Tropium and his son have arrived," Cliff replied.

"Okay," Selena left her room and went to Phel's room.

"Mr. Marquis, Miss Selena will enter your room," Cliff said before opening the door to Phel's study.

Selena entered Phel's room with a flat face, her sharp eyes looked directly at Cesare Selena raised an eyebrow, "Isn't he the soldier from last time?" Selena said in her heart.

"Selena Van Dyke greets the Grand Duke of Tropium," Selena said, bowing her head as she lifted her dress slightly.

"Yes, yes, I accept your greeting, child, come here," the Grand Duke ordered.

Selena sat next to Phel, "Selena, as you have explained, I intend to match you with Cesare, the only son of the Duke Tropium brand," said Phel.

"Yes, Brother," Selena replied briefly.

"Selena is indeed a woman who is firm in everything, she doesn't talk much but she is very capable in everything," Phel explained, a little annoyed by her sister's cold attitude.

"Including swordplay?" asked Grand Duke Tropium.

"Of course, Selena is very fond of swordplay," Phel explained again.

"Ha ha ha, that's what I like about your sister, I'm sure Selena will get along well with Cesare," said the Grand Duke.

The surprised Cesare could only look at his father who looked very happy. "Me? And Selena? That's impossible, what about Helio later?" said Cesare in his heart.

"Selena, what if you show Cesare around our villa?" asked Phel, indirectly asking Selena and Cesare to leave the room.

"Yes, brother," Selena answered briefly.

Selena and Cesare left the room.

"Well, our young Marquis, what can I get out of this marriage?" the Grand Duke asked.

"Of all things, I will promise Cesare one thing," Phel replied.

"To Cesare? What is that?" the Grand Duke asked curiously.

"The position of Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Aperto, even he may later rise to the position of King," Phel replied confidently.

"Marquis Phel Van Dyke! How presumptuous of you to insult the royal family," said the Grand Duke, the atmosphere became tense, Phel did not expect the Grand Duke to be angry with him now, Phel's face turned pale.

"Ha ha ha, young Marquis Dyke, don't be too tense, I like your plan, continue this plan and give me satisfactory results," the Grand Duke continued. Phel's pale face turned red again, and he felt happy that his plan was going well.

On the other side, Selena and Cesare could be seen walking through every corner of the Dyke mansion with several servants following them.

"Madam, would you mind if I told these servants to leave us alone?" asked Cesare.

Selena, understanding Cesare's intention, immediately sent the servants away.

"Aunt Grace," said Selena, as she gave the code for all the servants to leave.

Now only Selena and Cesare were left in the hall.

"Mademoiselle, did you know about this?" asked Cesare.

Selena, who had been staring intently ahead, slowly looked at Cesare. "Sir, shouldn't you know as well?" Selena asked back.

"Wow, it's amazing that you all set me up, huh?" asked Cesare, who looked disappointed.

"Hem, childish," Selena said with a grin.

"What? Childish? Hey, this isn't trivial, is it? Don't you want to marry the person you love, miss? Helio for example?" asked Cesare angrily.

Selena slowly approached Cesare and tried to corner him until her body touched the wall of the villa.

"Sir, ah no Cesare, we should be quite familiar with each other since we are getting married, so work together and don't mention the name of the crown prince in front of me and drive me even crazier!" said Selena with a sharp look.
