Days went by, as Night Silver taught all manner of topics and helped the people learn the essential skills needed to support a nation. She did opt to leave the development of culture up to them alone. Even if her involvement was bound to have an effect, she did want to limit it as much as she could. Cultural development should be left up to those who will live in it. It's not for a single person to dictate. That's not how this world should run, the other one has long since died as a result of that kind of unchecked power.
Soon the time for Night Silver to leave had arrived. She had spent a lot of time and effort to build this place up, though it wasn't like she held any personal stake in the success of this land. After all, the elves and dwarves were going to be leaving with her. At least… That's what was supposed to happen, however, on the day she was set to leave…
"Thank you for all your help Silver, you stayed longer than planned to help bring this place to where it is now." Tsa said, as the two of them looked at the small city… Maybe it was closer to a large town in size. But in either case, there was enough housing and all other essentials for everyone. It was only a matter of time before the town truly developed into its own.
"Well, I noticed there were some of my kin who seemed to have mixed feelings about leaving after building something for themselves. I didn't want to leave without making sure they would be secure in their future endeavors." Night Silver said, looking around and seeing the interactions between the races of people below. "They seem to be interacting with others far more normally. As if they really do see them as neighbors. So long as that keeps up… I won't have to bring them away." She continued, as thoughts swirled in her head. They actually seem to be more cheerful and friendly towards each other than the humans were towards the elves in the nation I bult with my new friends. Perhaps I should be wary of that. If this is what is possible, then something is going wrong with that other place. I hope everything is fine over there.
"I'm sure you're worried about your kin, but don't forget about the others who look up to you. Remember, it's not just elves who are leaving with you this time." Tsa noted with a nod of his head towards a fairly large group of people. "I'm glad you weren't strict on taking all of them with you. Elves and Dwarves seem to be better at many things that humans struggle with. I honestly think it would be difficult to maintain this place without a diverse group to remain here." He added with a sigh.
"Societies are stronger when everyone works together, doing the jobs they are best at. But, enough of that kind of talk now. I'm going to move west and maybe a little to the north. I haven't quite decided yet. I'll see how the mountains treat me. And…" Night Silver said, turning to look at the dwarves, some of them blushed. "They can't seem to stop talking about how nice it would be to find a really good cave system to live in. One they can develop into a place they can truly feel at home… At least that's the idea their selected leader has." She continued, moving her attention to an elf.
"Godmother, I…" The elf stuttered. "Forgive me for not leaving…" He continued.
"Oh, don't worry about it. I know you have your own thoughts. I'm not here to give you orders… Actually, I do have one order for you and all the other elves." Night Silver said, patting the elf on the head. "Remember and never forget that lullaby. Teach it to all of your kin. It will give you comfort even in the darkest of times. Keep it with you as a part of me, okay?" She added, removing her hand and wearing a tender caring smile. I really hope nothing happens where they would need to use it in such a situation but, it's better they have it just in case.
"I'll never forget it! It will be the first one we sing to newborns…" The elf, his ears flickering happily, said.
"Pfft, alright. But remember, should have mixed offspring they won't have as strong of a connection to that lullaby. So you'll need to sing it more for them." Night Silver giggled as she walked away.
The elf's face went red with embarrassment. How did she know? Then he remembered there were far more male elves staying put then there were females. So it must have just been a natural conclusion. She didn't fight us staying here even with such knowledge. She really does want to build a place where everyone can be happy. Regardless of their ancestry… or even their race.
"Alright, everyone, are you ready to leave? It's going to be a long walk. But don't worry about it too much, we can make it fun." Night Silver said, emulating the energy that the others needed to have. The response was filled with strong excitement. "Good, then let's go… This way we can begin our adventure." She said, then began walking towards the north west.
Tsa, who couldn't help but feel helpless and something breaking inside of him, watched as his friend walked away. Soon the figures were blocked behind the horizon such that even he couldn't see them clearly without using magic.
"Lord Platinum? Is everything alright? Your tears have left me soaked. Literally." The elf asked, taking a few steps out of the way.
"Oh, hmm, I'm fine, it's just sad to watch a friend go." Tsa answered, unphased by the question an elf asked of him.
"Really? I thought you and the Elven Mother were closer than that? I thought for sure we would soon see what a dragon and an elf's offspring would be." The elf chuckled.
"I don't think it would have been possible. Are races too different, and she can't hold her dragon form long enough even if we did try…" Tsa said.
"You're both deities, right? Why shouldn't it be possible? I'm sure one day there will be a way around such limitations. Give it time." The elf consoled.
