Chapter 15 - Dinner with Alex and Alice

As Evan, Alex, and Alice left the academy grounds, the examiners gathered to discuss the performances of the day. The head examiner, a wise and experienced mage, began the discussion.

"Evan Noir shows exceptional promise," he said, his eyes twinkling with interest. "His control over multiple elements and his ability to combine them is impressive."

Another examiner nodded in agreement. "Alex is a fierce combatant with a strong will. Her determination is evident in her performance."

"And Alice," added a third examiner, "though shy, has a gentle yet powerful touch with magic. Her control is precise and delicate."

The head examiner continued, "We also had some other notable performances today. Caera, the Duke's daughter, demonstrated remarkable skill in water and earth magic. Her ability to manipulate these elements is both powerful and graceful."

"Caera's mastery over water and earth is extraordinary," one examiner remarked. "She has a natural gift that will be invaluable to the academy."

Another student who caught their attention was Princess Elara, the youngest princess of the kingdom. Despite her royal status, she had shown humility and a strong aptitude for light magic.

"Princess Elara's light magic is powerful and pure," the head examiner noted. "She will be a great asset to the academy."

As the examiners continued their discussion, Evan, Alex, and Alice made their way through the bustling streets of Elysium, the capital city of Eldoria. Evan couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for what lay ahead.

"That was intense," Alex said, breaking the silence. "But I think we all did pretty well."

Alice nodded, her voice soft. "I'm just glad it's over. Now we just have to wait for the results."

Evan smiled at his new friends. "No matter what happens, I'm glad I met you both. Let's make the most of our time at the academy."

The trio continued to explore the city, visiting various landmarks and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. Elysium was a city of wonders, with its cobblestone streets lined with colorful stalls and shops. The air was filled with the scent of fresh bread and exotic spices, and the sounds of merchants calling out their wares mingled with the laughter of children playing.

As they passed by a shop selling magical artifacts, Evan's eyes were drawn to a display of storage rings.

"I've always wanted one of those," Evan said, pointing to the rings. "They're incredibly useful for carrying items without the bulk."

Alex grinned. "Let's check them out!"

They entered the shop, which was filled with an array of magical items. The shopkeeper, an elderly man with a kind smile, greeted them warmly. "Welcome! How can I assist you today?"

Evan explained that he was looking for a storage ring. The shopkeeper nodded and led them to a display case filled with various rings, each one glowing with a faint magical aura.

"These rings are enchanted to store items in a pocket dimension," the shopkeeper explained. "They're very handy for adventurers and mages alike."

Evan examined the rings carefully, finally selecting one that felt right. It was a simple silver band with a small, blue gemstone embedded in it. He slipped it on his finger and felt a slight tingle as the magic activated.

"This is perfect," Evan said, smiling. "I'll take it."

After purchasing the ring, the trio continued their exploration of the city. As evening approached, they decided to have dinner at the inn where Alex and Alice were staying. The inn was cozy and welcoming, with a warm fire crackling in the hearth and the smell of hearty food wafting through the air. They found a table near the window and ordered a variety of dishes, from roasted meats to fresh vegetables and warm bread.

"This place is great," Evan said, taking a bite of his meal. "Thanks for inviting me."

Alex grinned. "No problem. It's nice to have company."

Alice smiled shyly. "We're glad you could join us."

They spent the evening talking and laughing, sharing stories about their lives and their hopes for the future at the academy. As the night grew late, Evan stood up to leave.

"I should get going," he said. "Thank you for the wonderful evening."

Alex and Alice both stood to see him off. "Good night, Evan," Alex said with a grin. "See you later."

Alice nodded, her voice soft. "Good night, Evan."

Evan smiled and waved as he left the inn. He made his way through the quiet streets to his family's mansion. Once inside, he changed into light, comfortable clothes and climbed into bed, feeling a sense of contentment and anticipation for the days ahead.
