Rex rushed to the unconscious Danny, placing him on the sofa. Turning to Colleen, who was still worried, he said, "No need to thank me, I just saved your life!"
Still smarting from Rex's earlier teasing, Colleen couldn't bring herself to express gratitude. She pouted stubbornly. "Why would I want to be saved by you anyway? You could mind your own business!"
"Aw, you look so happy!" Rex smiled. "I'm leaving now. 'Kame School' shouldn't get involved in the conflict between Kunlun and the Hand!"
"Boss!" Colleen tried to respond, but Lorna jumped in. "How could you do this? Don't you care about Sensei?"
Rex turned, spreading his hands. "Look at her. She's alive and well, no scars. What more do you want?"
"But…" Lorna began, but Colleen interrupted. "That's enough, Lorna. You're going with Rex."
"No, I'm staying to help you! I'm not as ungrateful as..."
"Stop!" Colleen got out of bed. "Rex is right. This is between me and the Hand. It doesn't involve either of you. Go with him, and don't come back until I tell you to."
"Sensei..." Lorna started to protest, but felt a hand on her shoulder. "Let's go. Don't worry. Next time your Sensei is in trouble, we'll save her again."
"That's it!" Colleen's eyebrows rose. She grabbed her katana and yelled, "You're mocking me, Rex? Get out of my Dojo! Get out!"
"On my way!" Rex pulled Lorna along and left.
As soon as they were outside, Lorna shook Rex's hand off her arm. "Let me go back, boss!"
"You better not do that..." Rex let go of her but stood in her way, arms open. "I know Colleen well. If you get hurt because of her, she'll never forgive herself. If you respect her, respect her choice."
Lorna was stunned. "But...boss...this 'Hand' is so vicious! Sensei is in danger!"
"Don't worry, Colleen's not weak. You should worry about the Hand, haha!" Rex put a hand on Lorna's shoulder, guiding her toward his restaurant.
"Is that so?" Lorna looked at Rex suspiciously. "Boss, before we came here, you didn't seem to trust her strength so much!"
"..."
Rex remained silent for a moment, then found an excuse. "The situation is different now. Didn't you hear Colleen say her Sensei was coming? Since he's on his way, what else could I do?"
"That sounds reasonable...but I still feel you're not being sincere." Lorna questioned Rex, looking him in the eye.
Colleen's Sensei was Bakuto, one of the Hand's Five Fingers. Rex didn't want to meet him, so he rushed out of the Dojo.
Rex kept that thought to himself and said, "Your feeling is wrong..."
"The more you say that, boss, the more suspicious it sounds..."
"..."
Six hours later, in a suburb of New York, inside a building that was definitely not a secret military base...
Phil Coulson held a blood test report. "May, the results are in. Rex Lee is genetically normal, not a mutant or an alien. I think it's time to visit him."
"Wait!" Melinda looked up, pointing at the monitor. "We have new information. You need to see this before making a decision."
"Huh?" Phil leaned over the desk. "So, this is him in the video...DAMN! What the hell is that...yellow sphere of light?"
"This happened six hours ago, at a Dojo near Lee's restaurant. Do you still think I was overreacting when I asked for a special team next time?"
"..."
Phil watched the video silently. "Go back a little..."
After a moment, he said, "I'm not mistaken! Rex pulled a sphere of golden light from that man's body and instantly healed the woman in bed. With the light gone, there's no wound left. What about the man? What happened after he fell? Is he dead?"
"He's not dead, just unconscious. That's Danny Rand, heir to Rand Enterprises. Joy Meachum, a director of the firm, was also there."
Melinda opened a new video. "More interesting, half an hour ago, five black SUVs with armed men arrived at the Dojo and took Danny Rand and Joy Meachum. They were professionals and lost our tracking team. They're headed to an unknown location."
Phil frowned. "And the woman who was sick?"
"She left with them." Melinda zoomed in on Colleen's face. "Her name is Colleen Wing, the Dojo's Sensei. She's skilled in martial arts. She was talking to the leader of the armed men. They were called by her."
Phil approached the monitor. "Who was the woman with Rex?"
Melinda picked up a piece of paper and handed it to Phil. "Lorna Lehnsherr, Rex Lee's employee and a student at Colleen's Dojo."
"So, you're saying everyone in these videos, including Rand Enterprises and the armed men, are connected to the factions Rex mentioned?"
