Chapter 29 - One eyed pirate

"Of course," Rex said, nodding as he stood. "I have no plans to take hostages. But control your men. If they get suspicious, I won't be merciful."

"Rest assured, they're professionals. They'll never disobey orders on a mission."

Coulson gave his word, and Rex nodded. He ordered his support team to go in unarmed, recover their unconscious colleagues, and gather their weapons.

After talking with Melinda, Phil turned to Rex. "We'll be going now, and we'll contact you later."

"Hold on!"

Rex stepped in front of Coulson, pointing to the table. "Before you go, make up for my desk!"

"..."

Phil looked at the table. "You destroyed that yourself..."

"Don't make excuses!" Rex interrupted, squinting. "Don't you know about learning by observation? I cut the table for your sake, Agent Coulson. Now it's my bad? Hurry up and pay, will ya?"

"..."

Phil pulled out his wallet and handed Rex a bill. "Is that enough?"

"One hundred dollars? Are you kidding me?" Rex grabbed Coulson's wallet. "Agent Coulson, are you broke? You only have a hundred dollars on a mission?"

"A hundred dollars is a lot! It's enough for a table!" Phil grabbed his wallet, annoyed.

"That's barely enough for a plastic table! You owe me a good red wooden one!"

"Your table isn't red..."

"Hurry up, will ya? You're not staying for tea?"

"..."

After escorting Coulson and May out, Rex locked up and walked inside. His legs gave out, and he collapsed.

"Boss!"

Lorna, coming down the stairs, screamed and rushed to Rex. "Are you okay?"

"Shhh!" Rex hushed her. "Don't worry, I can't use Ki that much. It's draining, and I need to rest."

Lorna pouted. "That was really badass, boss! You threatened them while tired, and even asked for money!"

"What do you know?" Rex said. "That was bluffing! I was sweating. They started doubting my strength, and weren't sure. If I'd been eager to let them go, Coulson would have attacked."

"But...didn't you already make a deal?"

"Ha ha ha! That was only because Coulson thought I was a threat to his men. If he hadn't, I would have been taken in!"

"But...wasn't that a bit evil, boss? Agent Coulson seemed kind. I think he's good at heart, not as sinister as you said."

"Haha, innocent little girl, don't make me laugh!"

"Hey! You're only a year older than me. If you keep talking like that, I might get angry!"

"Well, well, well, you're learning fast! Hahaha! Help me upstairs. I'm really drained."

"Boss, you're too heavy! I can't do it!"

"..."

An hour later, at a top-secret SHIELD facility...

"Kunlun...The Hand..."

A bald, one-eyed man in a black trench coat sat behind a massive desk, staring at two reports. "They're starting to be a nuisance again..."

"Commander, you know about them?"

Phil Coulson stood before the desk. "Why have I never heard of them?"

"It's a Level 8 secret, beyond your clearance. But since you know, I can confirm that information is correct."

Coulson sighed. "Rex said Kunlun has other forces. Do we have any information on that?"

"He wasn't lying. They're not as widespread as the Hand, but they shouldn't be underestimated."

"Don't be fooled. They might seem benevolent, but they're killers, deadly soldiers. Their purpose is to destroy the Hand. They're few, but dangerous, and we need to take them seriously."

"What about this Kame School? Rex didn't want to talk about it, but whenever it came up with Kunlun and the Hand, he seemed superior. Doesn't that mean the Kame School is at least as good as them?"

"That's interesting. We've known about Kunlun and the Hand for a century, but I've only heard of the Kame School today."

"Coulson raised his eyebrows. "Commander, are you saying Rex is lying? There's no Kame School?"

"No, I don't. He knows too much about Kunlun and the Hand. He must be from that world. I think he's telling the truth. The Kame School must be a hidden martial arts school with only one student per generation. They're so secretive, it's no wonder we have no data on them."

"Wow, that's rare, Commander. You believe everything he said?"

"The one-eyed man picked up the tablet, looking at Rex again. "I don't believe him, but there's no other explanation."
