Lucius stayed behind the man, and stood close to the door, watching as the unknown man marveled at the sight of the Shade Crystal.
One thing was clear—this guy couldn't touch the crystal.
If he could just stab him from behind…
His fingers curled around the dagger he had hidden beneath his clothes—something he had stolen from one of the guards who had whipped him earlier.
Keeping the dagger concealed behind his back, he began to creep toward the man, his steps slow and silent, closing the distance between himself and the guy's unguarded back.
Just as he raised the dagger to strike, the man suddenly turned around.
Lucius' eyes widened in shock, and before he could react, a swift kick to his midsection sent him crashing into the chamber wall.
"Argh..."
He groaned in pain, his back arching from the sharp ache. Breathing heavily, he looked up and realized he had been caught.
