"Dost thou know what thou hast done?!"
The man's deep voice echoed all around the dark chamber.
Lucius's breath came in heavy gasps as he backed away, trying to put as much distance as possible between himself and the man.
He had no idea what he was doing, but he knew one thing: the man would kill him or tear him apart to get the crystal.
Hell… what if the crystal destroys his insides and he dies anyway?
He considered it… it seemed death was inevitable.
He couldn't defeat Lord Sorrowshade, but he sure as hell didn't want him to have the crystal either.
Forcing himself to stay composed, he responded, "Why? Did I do something wrong? I don't want you to have the crystal. It'll probably make you stronger, and then I'd never stand a chance against you."
The man's anger was palpable, and the intensity of his glare made Lucius tremble.
Lucius averted his eyes, clutching his stomach as a wave of discomfort hit him.
