Chapter 33 - Chronicle 33 ~ Mortal King (3)

Series of explosions went off at the moment of impact, the entire stage was immediately covered in ravaging lightning and Thunderforce, mixed with Piercing violet colored sword qi and reddish-black energy.

The mixture of these energies tore at the barrier of the martial stage, almost tearing it apart, as the barrier was pushed to its utmost limit, the entire stage imploded it on itself as it couldn't handle the force.

And in that moment, a lone voice sounded out...

"Hermes Celeration"

But the voice was barely audible so very few people heard it, after a the rampaging energies had ram rampant drive few more minutes, it finally settled down.

But when the scene was revealed, a stunning scene was revealed, Vin was standing right in front of Thorne, his sword piercing through the right side of his chest.

B. B.. But..but. How's that possible, how did you get here so fast and without my notice, wait don't tell me.....?" Thorne was bewildered as he stammered out blood spilling out of his mouth.

"You're correct Thorne, if I could hide my strength, what made you think I didn't hide my speed too" Vin replied with a smile as he drew his sword out of Thorne.

That was correct, Vin have never used the full ability of Hermes Celeration since the beginning of the tournament, this skill granted him the ability to pass through the speed force.

So unless there was a huge disparity in strength, no one could track him, and no one could stop him if he wanted to leave.

So the moment those energies were still rampaging, he had casted the skill and pierced his sword through Thorne.

And that's how he had won, when all these were revealed, the whole arena was in a huge tandem.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Vin stood victorious, his position as the new Mortal King secure. Thorne, his eyes narrowed, smiled wryly. "You won this time," he said, "but I'll be back, and next time, you won't be so lucky."

Vin smiled, his eyes shining with respect. "I'm looking forward to it," he replied. The stage was set for a future rematch, as the two warriors parted ways, their rivalry far from over.

As the outer sect elders approached Vin, their faces beaming with pride, the young cultivator stood tall, his heart racing from the final battle. The lead elder, Elder Ling, placed his hands on Vin's shoulder, his eyes shining with a deep understanding.

"Your name shall be etched upon the Mortal Lords Ranking steel, a testament to your strength and dedication. May your future be bright, young Vin."

And so amidst the adoration of his peers and the reverence of his sect elders, Vin stood victorious, his name forever changed within the annals of the Mortal lords rankings.

The pavilion's walls were adorned with intricate carvings of flames and golden accents, shining brightly under the radiant light of the setting sun.

As the guests arrived, the pavilion buzzed with excitement and anticipation. The nine other Mortal Lords, esteemed guests from the inner court, and dignitaries from across the sect took their seats, all eager to witness the crowning of the new outer court Mortal King.

He was flanked by a few close friends and allies, who had once been his opponents during the competition, there was Zeph, Arinthal and a girl named Naomi who was a wielder of Sun Flames.

The ceremony began with a grand procession, led by the outgoing Mortal King, Thorne Thunderforge. Thorne, resplendent in his regal attire, walked with a measured pace, his eyes fixed on Vin. As he approached, the crowd fell silent, awaiting the moment when the mantle of leadership would be passed.

Thorne stopped before Vin and bowed his head in respect. "Vin, you have proven yourself worthy of the title Mortal King," he declared, his voice echoing through the pavilion. "Your strength, strategy, and courage have earned you this honor."

With a gentle smile, Thorne removed the Golden Crown from his own head and placed it upon Vin's. The crowd erupted into applause as Vin's friends and allies rushed to congratulate him.

The Golden Crown, adorned with precious gems and symbols of the Flaming Sun Sect, shone brightly on Vin's head. He felt its weight, both physical and metaphorical, and knew that his journey as the new Mortal King had just begun.

In the midst of the celebration, Vin's thoughts turned to the journey ahead. He knew that the challenges he had faced to become the new Mortal King was be daunting, but this was only the starting point of his journey.

As the ceremony concluded, the Golden Lotus Pavilion erupted in a dazzling display of fireworks and flames, illuminating the night sky. The Flaming Sun Sect's disciples and guests celebrated long into the night, their joy and excitement echoing through the sect's halls.

There were lots of rewards for being the new Mortal King and one of them was the chance to cultivate in the outer court's Body refining spirit pool.

This pool was created by mixing the blood and bone marrow essence of demonic beasts, they were then further refined with different types of Spirit herbs.

As Vin walked through the corridor of a cavern hallway he never knew actually existed in the first place. He wondered what the spirit pool would be like.

He raised his head to look at the person in front of him, he was being led by none other than Elder Ling himself.

"Alright we're here" Elder Ling said as he stopped suddenly, they were standing in front of a huge cavern door that was inscribed with array formations.

"Now then, a fairly reminder, the Body refining spirit pool comprises of the blood and bone marrow essence of different demonic beasts, although we've used different spirit herbs to dilute it a little, there's still a lot of berserk auras mixed in it, so make sure you only stay at the edge.

"Once you're at your limit, leave the pool immediately or you'll face danger of injuries to your body, so don't overestimate yourself, but it would be good if you lasted longer though.

"The more you stay in the spirit pool, the more beneficial it will be for you"

"Elder Ling, what's the longest record for staying in the spirit pool?" Vin asked.

Elder Ling looked at him with a faint smile and raises three fingers up.

"Thirty days, wow not bad" Vin said.

"Nope, you're wrong Vin, I meant three days, even Thorne only lasted a day and half. It'll be good if you can last longer than that.".

"Whoa, it's that difficult" Vin exclaimed. "Of course, afterall the energy is too berserk, but the good new is that if you last long enough, you might be able to even breakthrough to the Spirit sea realm.

"Whoa really?" Vin asked in surprise, and anticipation, "Indeed, but the chances are very slim, no one has lasted that long in a long time" Elder Ling replied.

"Alright then, I'll try my best" Vin stated and walked through the door.

When he entered the cavern room, the temperature increased by a few degrees, he couldn't help but notice the boiling hot blood red pool in the center of the cavern.

"Well, he definitely wasn't wrong about the berserk aura, this pool is literally boiling from it, but this is also the perfect place to test the true effects of the Hell Flames.

"Just when I was thinking of how to hunt more stronger beasts for my breakthrough, the sect goes ahead and offer me a feast. Others might not be able to do it but. Hehehe I'm definitely different" Vin chuckled as he walked towards the spirit pool.

When he got to the foot of the pool he took off his clothes so it won't get ruined, and since no one was here he had no qualms.

After that he jumped into the pool, and the first thing he felt was scalding hot liquid that threatened to peel his skin, and this was only at the edge, no wonder Elder Ling had said to remain there.

But who was Vin, he was definitely not satisfied with being at the the edges, besides only at the center would he be able to maximize the most benefits.

And so he kept on swimming till he got to the very center of the pool, but by then his skin was already peeling off, and he was feeling an immense amount of pain.

But he held on through sheer will power,'This is definitely nothing compared to when I was actually burnt to ashes in a magma lake.'

"Now then, show me what you can do, Hell Flames"
