This is the worse shite I've ever put in my mouth.
"Sure, it smells bad," I went for another tea spoonful, just to make them believe it's not bad at all, because I ain't suffering alone. "But it ain't, it's actually good after the first taste, it melts nice in the mouth," then I ate the second spoonful with my bloody life on the line.
"Well, that ain't bad then," Michel beamed, grabbing three spoons for then and taking the extract from me, as I pretended to love it, then he filled them generously and handed to the boys. "Even I can easily have aunt Miyumi's hot sauce, and I'm the worse with spicy food between us. Come on, let's taste it together."
"1…" Cael began, "2… 3!"
They both ate it leaving the spoon clean, and their eyes widened.
"Achilleas, you bloody fuck!" They screamed teary and ran to the fridge, each grabbing one of the bottles of milk that were in there, Michel and Des' faces turning profusely red as they coughed and growled curses.
I laughed for a second, then I bent down on the trash can to vomit.
✵ ✵ ✵
More than an hour passed, and my entire face is still burning like hell. Cael and Michel vomited twice, Des didn't but he only ate one spoonful, I ate two and that shite will make my butt burn when I take a shite, I can tell.
I tried drinking milk, but it didn't help it, I tried the water but that only worsened it all and spread the burning as I knew it would, but I couldn't help if my body was desperate for it. And I may have cried, my eyes may still be teary and my lips are burning as if I had pealed all skin off. This shite probably burned all the skin of my lips off, that's the feeling.
"That was… attempt of murder on us… you bastard!" Michel cried.
"It's in my eyes," Des screamed after he passed his hands on them. "I washed my bloody hands twice, and it's burning. What the fuck?!"
"You shouldn't have passed them in your eyes," I snapped.
"My eyes are burning, it's been more than an hour, why is it that it is still burning?" Des gasped, crying, actually crying.
"Probably because we are a spoonful," I groaned and put down the speaker that I linked to the secret device Des hid under the couch of Selene's living room, on the coffe table of the living room. "The instructions said to just taste a little drop at best, and over food, because it could be harmful to the body if consumed in a bigger quantity straight to the mouth."
The three glared daggers at me, "You bloody piece of,"
A sound of door opening resounded from the speaker and we went silence, staring at it, waiting to see if she would say anything. Then another pair of shoes walked in with her, and more two, enough for us to know that she was followed by Jung-jin, Cassie, and Sera.
"So, will you speak now, Lea?" A feminine voice spoke.
"That's Cassie," Des whispered to me.
"I have nothing to say," my girl growled annoyed.
"Bitch, don't give me that, you look shaken!" It was a soft and sweet feminine voice that spoke this time and I took it as Sera.
"That's Sera," Cael whispered.
"I figured, now sheesh," I whispered back.
"Oh, and she is shaken," the voice we had heard before in her call spoke and we all looked at each other, knowing it was Jung-jin. "Noona got the hots for a men she met in London, but she's self-sabotaging herself." I felt my friends eyes on me and I couldn't help grinning.
"You what? When? Who? How did you meet him?" They asked her.
"Jung-jin is out of his mind, and I'm not self-sabotaging myself."
"Yes, you are!" He exclaimed. "You think he wants to kill you."
"What?" We all gasped together and my jaw dropped.
"You what?" The girls yelled. "What the hell?"
"He is suspicious, alright? And I can't let my guard down!" She all but hissed and we heard a sound of shoes being thrown on the ground. "If I'm alive right now, it's because I follow my intuition, I have to oversee all the possibilities, I'm as unlucky as one could be, and there's no way that hot men is really into me because of me. What are the chances? Zero!"
"Hence the self-sabotage!" Jung-jin scoffed.
"Lea, you can't think that. How are you going to get married if you keep thinking like that?" Cassie gasped sounding worried. "I knew being in MI6 and Interpol would fuck your head up, you don't let yourself live."
"She's an Interpol agent too?" Michel cried under his breath.
"That explains the high security on her," Cael gasped.
"I don't have that luxury, Cassandra," Selene snapped. "I have this mission to take care, and until I get through it, if I don't die, I won't be able to live like a fool as you two do. I made my bed, now I'll lay on it, even if there's a deadly serpent hunting me down. All I've worked for, all of my hard training from the time I was old enough to run around, was for this. It all brought me to this, to this mission, and I can't risk anything, okay?"
"Exactly because you're in constant danger that you should enjoy the time you have free, Lea," Sera groaned. "You didn't live your life. You only studied, trained, worked, and had traumatic one night stands once in a long while. You have never dated, how will you find a damn husband?"
"If I succeed and live long enough for that, I'll find him. But I can't risk finding a potential one right now, when this mission could put everyone I love in danger. It's already consuming me that you, mami, papi, and Yves could be in danger because of me. I can't… I can't let that happen."
"Why don't you find someone who could work with you?" Sera said.
She stayed silent for a while, "No. I don't want to look for that. In fact, I don't want to look for it, and I won't call him, Choi Jung-jin!"
