["Yes, you can use mana now, host," the system answered.]
Lucian felt a rush of excitement, his heart beating faster. Magic had always been a dream of his something he'd fantasized about but never thought possible.
"But... didn't that doctor say my magic veins were broken or something? That I can't use magic?" Lucian asked, a tinge of doubt creeping into his voice.
["There are many ways to restore or even create new magic channels, but that's for ordinary people," the system explained, its tone calm and assured. "You are a Progenitor Vampire now no better then them you have blood of primordial blood inside you. You can use magic through your blood. Control over magic will come naturally to you since you hold the concept of blood."]
"Really?" Lucians eyes lit up with excitement. "So I can use magic now?"
Unable to contain himself, lucian began jumping around in excitement. He raised his hand, aimed at the wall, and with a serious expression and an eager voice, he chanted, "Fireball!"
Seconds passed. Nothing happened.
Lucian blinked, confused. "Ice Blades!"
Still nothing.
"Mirror Image! Wind Shield! Stone Wall! Silent Veil!" he shouted, trying every spell he knew.
Minutes passed, and yet, nothing. No magic, no spark, not even a flicker of energy. His enthusiasm slowly began to fade, replaced by frustration. Tears welled up in his eyes as he stared at his hands, feeling utterly defeated.
"System, come out! Didn't you say I could use magic now? What is this? I've tried every spell I know, but nothing's happening!" Lucian screamed in his mind, frustration and disappointment swirling within him.
["Host, are you dumb or something? Magic doesn't work just by chanting," the system replied, its tone dripping with exasperation. "You need much more than that. Obviously, you've never learned how to use magic, so it's impossible to just cast it for the first time."]
"Then tell me how it works! Teach me!" Lucian demanded, his excitement returning with full force. The prospect of learning magic was too thrilling to be dampened by mere obstacles.
["You can't just learn it instantly, but I will tell you what you lack." The system paused, then continued, "Host, to cast magic, you must go beyond simple chanting. First, focus your mind; concentration is key. Use specific hand gestures or body movements to direct the spell's energy. Tools like wands, runes, or enchanted items can enhance your power. Some spells require physical components, such as herbs or crystals. Remember, your surroundings matter certain places or weather can strengthen or weaken your magic. Your willpower and intent directly influence the spell's outcome. Be mindful of your mana; it fuels your magic and can be depleted. Lastly, know that every spell has limits and consequences. Cast wisely."
The system paused, letting the information sink in. "And that's just the basics. More importantly, I wouldn't recommend trying to cast magic in a hospital ward."]
Lucian listened intently, absorbing every word. But as the system finished, his eyes widened in realization. "Oh shit, I forgot where I was! System, why didn't you tell me earlier?!"
["Because I knew you wouldn't be able to cast any magic from the start,"] the system replied, its tone matter-of-fact.
"Pfft!" Lucian almost spat out the blood from the system's blunt remark. "Okay, fine," he said, shaking his head and choosing to ignore the system's brutal honesty. "Let's try the simplest magic then."
He repositioned himself, holding his hand in front of him. He closed his eyes, remembering what the system had just taught him: focus your mind, concentrate, and intend.
As Lucian concentrated, his mana instinctively began to flow, concentrating within his blood and moving towards his raised hand. He opened his lips and chanted,
"Glow."
Suddenly, a small orb of light appeared, floating just above his hand. Lucian opened his eyes, looking at his first-ever spell. It was only a millimeter in size, illuminating the room with a very dim light. But to Lucian, it was a spectacular scene a light for his new life, a life that now had magic.
[CONGRATULATIONS HOST YOU HAVE LEARNED - GLOW]
Lucian ignored system notification for now he was too excited about his first ever magic spell
His eyes reflected the dim orb, and in that moment, he knew he would remember this for the rest of his life.
"It's beautiful," lucian whispered, staring at the orb until it dissipated due to his lack of control.
"System, can you teach me more magic spells?" he asked, his voice full of anticipation.
["Of course. I have an infinite number of magic spells in my database from very simple spells to the most forbidden ones which you can buy from the system shop, which is currently locked."]
"What?! You won't give them to me for free?" Lucian exclaimed, feeling cheated. "I knew it! This system is a scam! Unbind me right now!"
"Host, try to understand," the system responded, its tone patient. "I am bound by the rules of the Supreme Will. If I could give you all that information for free, you would become utterly invincible."
"That's bullshit! How does just knowing about spells make you invincible? I mean, I can't just learn them in seconds, can I?" Lucian retorted, spitting out his frustration.
["Host, have you ever heard the saying 'knowledge is power'?"]
"Never," Lucian answered without missing a beat.
"..." The system paused, seemingly at a loss for words. ["If you purchase a spell from the shop, you won't need to learn it. The system will instantly make you proficient in it. The quality of the spell is ranked from F to SSS, corresponding to the strength of the spell."]
"Really? I won't need to learn the skills myself?" Lucian asked in surprise. Although he hadn't yet learned magic, he knew the basics that learning a spell or skill took time, sometimes days or months depending on the person's talent and the complexity of the spell.
For an average person, it could take months just to learn a basic spell, while geniuses could learn them in minutes.
[Yes, Host. The system is powerful and can directly impart the skill to you, as long as you have enough system points.]
"Then tell me how to get these system points and how to open the system store!" Lucian asked eagerly.
[The information on how to get system points will be revealed once you unlock the system shop function.]
"And how do I unlock the system shop?" Lucian asked, frustration seeping into his voice.
[You can open the system shop by completing a system mission.]
"Ugh! When am I going to get these system missions?! I haven't received any so far!" Lucian asked, feeling thoroughly exasperated.
[There will be missions when the time comes, the system replied cryptically.]
fuck you system.... Lucian said frustration
its like not answering his question
