Jiang Yanping's casual suggestion to bring her wife over immediately struck a chord with the others.
Right!
They couldn't return to Earth, but there was nothing stopping them from bringing their loved ones here.
The air was fresh, without the smog and pollution of Earth.
And they'd no longer need to worry about senile diseases, effectively extending their lifespans.
Even helping the primitive population develop seemed easier than expected—hadn't they seen those mountains of supplies?
Certainly, they wouldn't be forced to build things without any benefits in return…
When they really thought about it, it all sounded much more appealing than Earth!
So, all at once, everyone rushed to sign up for what amounted to "relocation invitations" for their family members. Some wanted to bring their wives, some their parents, others their in-laws…
Nobody, however, mentioned bringing children. They probably felt they couldn't gamble everything on this place, wanting to leave at least one "anchor" back on Earth.
Wang Yan agreed to each and every request—his planet was vast, and the more people, the better.
A few minutes later, the commotion finally died down.
Feng Chunlai stepped forward. "So… what do you want us to do?"
Unconsciously, the vice chairman of Dongling Group had become the spokesperson for everyone.
"My initial plan," Wang Yan explained, "is to have each of you take charge of a primitive tribe. You'll teach them the skills and knowledge you've acquired over your lifetimes."
After receiving Xie Yufei's reminder, Wang Yan had adjusted his strategy. Directly bringing over too many people from Earth risked hidden dangers. Instead, it made more sense to train local talent.
After all, it takes just over a decade to guide someone from elementary school to university-level proficiency. Having experts teach focused, practical skills could shorten that time even more.
Once groups of "native" talents emerged, those people could continue educating others, steadily forming a self-sustaining cycle.
And with the time ratio of 1:30 (one year on Earth for every thirty here), Wang Yan was perfectly content to wait.
"Wait—you're going to separate us?" Feng Chunlai asked, sounding surprised.
"Is that a problem?" Wang Yan responded. He unconsciously aimed his still-bloody knife at Feng Chunlai.
"No!" Feng Chunlai hastily shook his head. "That's perfectly fine."
Even with immortality, he wasn't keen on being stabbed without warning!
"Since it's no problem, I'll assign tribes to each of you," Wang Yan continued. "Take whatever supplies you need, starting from the piles in the back. If something you need isn't there, let me know, and I'll get it from Earth. I'm not going to skimp on materials, and there's no need to feel shy—our goal is simply for these primitive tribes to learn as soon as possible. If your requested materials help advance civilization, you'll have my full support."
This was obviously a good deal for them. With abundant resources, who wouldn't prefer living more comfortably?
Just then, Xie Yufei—who had been silent for a while—spoke up. "Wang Yan, can you station them all on the Order Continent?"
Wang Yan glanced at her, then nodded. "No problem."
Each continent needed development, so it hardly mattered where the newcomers were assigned. If Xie Yufei asked specifically, why not oblige her? Besides, she was beautiful.
Xie Yufei flashed him a pleased smile.
As for the rest, they had no knowledge of the planet's geography. Wherever Wang Yan told them to go was fine—there was no point in protesting.
"Now, everyone, go choose the supplies you need," Wang Yan said. "Afterward, we'll have a full-scale 'primitive-style' barbecue party. Think of it as a bit of practice and, well… a rally for our cause."
"A real people-person, aren't you?" Xie Yufei remarked under her breath.
Wang Yan pretended not to hear. "Xie Yufei," he continued, "why don't you help register their supply requests?"
"Got it!" she huffed, rolling her eyes at him. Then she grabbed some paper and a pen from the pile of materials and called out, "Alright, line up! One by one—no pushing!"
Watching everyone line up in an orderly manner, Wang Yan finally felt that intoxicating sense of leadership.
He had to admit: it felt great to direct other people to do the work!
Caesar Tribe
Feng Chunlai and the others finally got to see a primitive tribe for themselves.
They found modern amenities scattered everywhere, newly reclaimed farmland, and primitive natives who smiled cheerfully as they toiled—people who even engaged in free-flowing conversation through "psychic resonance." The tribe members looked at the newcomers with respectful gazes.
All of this overturned the former patients' assumption that life in a primitive tribe would be difficult.
Apparently, living in a "primitive society" could actually be pretty fun!
If they'd known the tribe would be this pleasant, they wouldn't have hesitated so much in the first place.
As soon as they arrived, Xie Yufei practically bounced back into action, happily resuming her earlier tasks and giving orders to the tribe.
The newcomers spread out, each observing and investigating what interested them.
Teacher Jiang Yanping stood by a blackboard, listening to the natives chat about "chicken legs" and other strange phrases, quietly mulling it all over.
Physics professor Luo Mingde watched Jia Junpeng conjure a fireball, muttering, "This is so unscientific…" under his breath.
Zhang Dongping, from the Institute of Geology, studied the rock formations on a nearby cliff, lost in thought.
Each had something that piqued their curiosity, and Wang Yan was satisfied with their interest and enthusiasm.
Only Feng Chunlai lingered close to Wang Yan. After a careful survey of the tribe, he approached and asked discreetly, "Wang Yan, may I shape the tribe I'm assigned as I see fit?"
"Yes," Wang Yan replied. "Build your tribe however you like; I won't interfere. Just make sure the natives actually learn useful skills—ideally something that furthers their civilization."
"Fantastic!" Feng Chunlai rubbed his hands together, positively beaming. The glee in the old man's expression hinted at some grand plan already brewing in his mind.
"By the way, I remember you're in economics," Wang Yan remarked, crouching beside a grilling rack. He flipped cuts of sizzling meat and tossed Feng Chunlai a can of beer. "But I wonder how much help that'll be in a place with no established economy."
Feng Chunlai popped the can open and took a hearty swig. "Who says an economist can't do anything else? Mark my words—in a few months, you're going to see a brand-new tribe that might even surpass this Caesar Tribe of yours."
"I'll look forward to it," Wang Yan said, cracking open another beer and taking a sip.
"All right, enjoy your meal. I'm off to keep exploring." Feng Chunlai grabbed a skewer, then headed deeper into the tribe to learn as much as he could.
Wang Yan watched him go, smiling and shaking his head, humming a little tune to himself.
Yes, this is exactly the thriving atmosphere I wanted.
He glanced at the World Tree in his mind, full of anticipation. With the planet's civilization now on track, that sapling would surely experience a surge in growth!
