The middle-aged, greasy Li Zhan was all about money, his every word betraying his desire for wealth. The old mercenary, Liu Wanjun, had a clear goal—white women.
But when Xie Yufei, the beautiful girl with a high IQ, spoke about dreams—shared dreams—it was such a lofty concept that Wang Yan was almost moved to tears. This was the stark difference between a normal person and a freak!
Wang Yan took Xie Yufei to the Caesar tribe, which had become his personal project.
Though he hated to admit it, he'd undeniably invested the most effort into this tribe, and the Caesar tribe had become the fastest-growing of all.
Showing Xie Yufei this tribe made sense—her high IQ could help him in countless ways. Moreover, he had already mentally designated her as his future wife.
Xie Yufei had the right to know everything.
Hiding in the forest just outside the tribe, Wang Yan and Xie Yufei observed the rapidly developing Caesar tribe from the shadows.
Solar panels dotted the hillsides, hairstyles and clothing were bizarrely mismatched, abstract portraits of the God of Light covered the walls, and primitive people were still practicing writing the word "drumstick" with pencils…
Seeing the odd scene before her, Xie Yufei was left utterly speechless.
She stared, wide-eyed, and after swallowing hard, finally asked, "Don't tell me… this is the result of your efforts over the past few days?"
"It seems like it," Wang Yan admitted awkwardly. When he had been by himself, it hadn't seemed so bad—maybe just a bit off—but now, in her presence, he suddenly felt a deep sense of shame.
Just then, two children from the tribe appeared, evidently reviewing what they had learned.
They stood in the forest, facing each other, and began an extremely serious conversation:
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes, I have."
"What did you eat?"
"I ate chicken drumsticks, how about you?"
"Me too."
"Pfft! Hahahahaha…" Xie Yufei couldn't hold it in any longer. Clutching her stomach, she burst into laughter. "Wang Yan, you're a genius! Hahaha! I can't... Just let me laugh for five minutes!"
"…" Wang Yan's face flushed red with embarrassment. He couldn't say a word. This was too humiliating. He should have taken her to a different tribe!
At the time, it had all seemed perfectly normal.
But now... why did it look so absurd?
Laughing for five full minutes, Xie Yufei finally managed to calm herself. She wiped the tears from her eyes, though she was still panting from laughing so hard. It was clear that she had struggled to hold it in.
"Sorry, Wang Yan, I just couldn't help it…" she said with a chuckle.
"If you feel like laughing, go ahead," Wang Yan shrugged, trying to remain composed. "If holding it in hurts, laugh for another five minutes. It's not good to keep it inside."
Before he could even finish his sentence, Xie Yufei burst into laughter again, completely unbothered by maintaining her perfect image.
Wang Yan's eye twitched. She wasn't holding back at all!
Was it really that funny?
"I'm done, I swear," Xie Yufei finally straightened up, taking a deep breath and working hard to calm herself down. "But Wang Yan, honestly, you never thought of leading them on the right path, did you?"
That one stung.
Wang Yan couldn't help but clutch his chest, speechless in the face of the truth. What could he say? Could he tell her he had worked hard, carefully planning their future, only for things to turn out like this? Wasn't it clear enough that the fault wasn't entirely his?
With a sigh, he blushed and forced out four words: "Not capable enough."
Xie Yufei gave him a sympathetic smile, shook her head, and began walking toward the tribe. "Come on, let's go have a look inside."
Wang Yan followed.
"The God of Light!"
"Praise the great God of Light!"
As soon as the two of them entered the tribe, the people immediately took notice.
Everyone rushed to greet Wang Yan with utmost respect. They glanced curiously at Xie Yufei but didn't dare approach. In their eyes, anyone walking alongside the God of Light had to be a deity as well.
And this goddess was so beautiful! No wonder the God of Light had rejected the women of the tribe. They couldn't compare to her!
It seems that humanoid creatures, regardless of the galaxy or age, share remarkably similar aesthetics.
Xie Yufei took it all in with a smile, tilting her head and raising an eyebrow. "The God of Light?"
Wang Yan had granted her the ability to communicate through spiritual resonance, allowing her to understand the primitive people.
"They gave me that title," Wang Yan admitted awkwardly, whispering an explanation of how the title of God of Light had come to be.
"Light? That fits," Xie Yufei smirked, nodding. She gently patted the head of a nearby child and glanced around. "What a cute group of people."
"They are," Wang Yan agreed. "That's why I want to make their lives better."
Just then, Caesar and Wu Zhugou hurried over, each holding a stack of notebooks. "Great God, this is the assignment you left us. Everyone in the tribe has completed it. After we checked the work, we let them eat. When you didn't appear for two days, we had them keep practicing the words you taught us so everyone could speak more clearly."
Xie Yufei took one of the books and skimmed through it. Her smile widened as she read, and after flipping through a few more, she handed the notebook to Wang Yan. "Is this the homework you gave them? They've done well."
Wang Yan opened one of the notebooks, and sure enough, after a few clumsy attempts, the handwriting improved dramatically, becoming surprisingly neat.
Considering that the word "drumstick" wasn't exactly easy for people who had never written before, it was quite impressive.
Wang Yan didn't hesitate to praise them. "Good work, Caesar. You've done well."
Caesar, elated by the compliment, eagerly asked, "Great God of Light, when will you teach us something new?"
Wu Zhugou looked just as hopeful. They had to keep learning or face hunger again. In the days when the God of Light had been absent, they had returned to hunting. But even roasted prey didn't compare to the divine food Wang Yan had provided.
It's hard to go back once you've experienced better. The people of the Caesar tribe had grown accustomed to Wang Yan's generosity.
"We'll hold off on learning new words for now. Once I have new ideas, we'll continue," Wang Yan replied.
"What about food?" Caesar asked anxiously. "Great God of Light, the tribe has run out of food. We keep running, studying, and hunting, but it's not enough to feed everyone. Many are going hungry!"
This is embarrassing enough, and you're still asking for food? What a bunch of freeloaders! Wang Yan's face darkened. "Caesar, didn't you survive just fine before? Why have you become so lazy now? The Church of Light does not tolerate laziness. From now on, you'll have to find your own food. If you can't even solve that, the Church has no need for such useless people!"
This time, Wang Yan was genuinely angry.
"Forgive us, Great God of Light," Caesar and the others begged, trembling as they knelt on the ground. What had they done wrong this time? The God of Light had become so unpredictable!
Looking at the scene before him, Wang Yan shut his eyes, too embarrassed to continue showing off to Xie Yufei.
Xie Yufei watched with amusement, then nudged Wang Yan in the back, whispering, "Let's go. We've seen enough. Let's talk about the next steps."
