The planet is so vast that even a man like Liu Wanjun wouldn't make much of a ripple.
Moreover, Wang Yan didn't believe that the old mercenary would bring any beneficial changes to the planet. Like the profiteer Li Zhan, the mercenary lacked any sort of positive energy!
He needed to find a few normal people to correct the distorted development path of the planet.
With renewed determination, Wang Yan stood up again, his eyes red with resolve.
Only extraordinary individuals can be gathered by extraordinary means. This was the lesson Wang Yan learned from the Liu Wanjun incident.
And even though he had been very careful, he still hadn't realized that Liu Wanjun had a daughter. There were hidden dangers, so what's the harm in having a few more?
Wang Yan realized that he had been too cautious, which had caused the development of his world to stagnate.
He was a powerful planet master, with various otherworldly abilities. Even on Earth, his ability to use the Gate of Time and Space allowed him to commit crimes without leaving a trace.
It was then that Wang Yan discovered a magical feature of the Gate of Time and Space.
On Earth, Wang Yan could open multiple gates, each one leading to his world. That meant, through two different gates, using his world as a transit point, Wang Yan could effectively teleport across Earth, ignoring space and distance.
Theoretically, Wang Yan could open a gate in Asia, then blindly open another on the American continent, and sneak across in an instant.
Of course, this was just a theoretical assumption. Wang Yan wouldn't actually do it unless he was sure of the outcome.
Because in reality, countless accidents could occur. For example, what if the gate he blindly opened appeared inside a mountain? What would he do then?
The moment he passed through, he might get stuck!
On Earth, Wang Yan didn't have immortality.
So, this tricky ability could only be used within Wang Yan's line of sight or when he knew the terrain exactly, much like the ability of Nightcrawler in the X-Men.
Using this newly discovered ability, Wang Yan easily entered Liu Wanjun's room, turned off the power and gas, and eliminated potential safety hazards.
And it was this ability that gave Wang Yan the confidence to boldly bring people into his world without worrying about exposure.
As for the headaches of the police investigating missing persons, Wang Yan didn't want to think about it anymore!
People have to go a little crazy sometimes.
If he continued to be cautious, his planet would never develop!
Finding the Right People
The key was finding the right people. The selection had to be precise—no more mishaps like with Li Zhan and Liu Wanjun!
Wang Yan didn't realize it, but his caution, driven by his desire for talent and the development of his world, was beginning to turn into obsession.
Knowledge! Culture! Normal people! Elites!
Back on Earth, Wang Yan redefined his keywords, which were the exact opposite of the ones he had used last time.
Then, without wasting a moment, Wang Yan hurried out of his room.
Sleep? Unnecessary.
With the time ratio of one to thirty, Wang Yan could sleep in his world. Sleeping on Earth was too wasteful!
It stood to reason that few people fitting those keywords would be night owls. Even during the day, most would be difficult to approach!
But Wang Yan knew there was a place where many such social elites gathered, and it was perfect for nighttime activities.
Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated with the University of Medical Sciences
Wang Lin's internship was here.
Wang Yan had heard from Wang Lin more than once that the VIP ward of the rehabilitation hospital was home to patients of distinguished status—either university professors, chief engineers, or retired leaders, and so on.
No matter their current condition, without exception, these people had achieved great things in their prime.
And they fit Wang Yan's definition of elite talent perfectly.
As for their illnesses?
The immortal body could even squeeze out the shrapnel that had been lodged in Liu Wanjun's body for thirty or forty years—minor ailments wouldn't stand a chance!
They could help Wang Yan build the planet, and in return, he would give them a healthy body. From any perspective, it was a win-win!
Outside the Hospital
Wang Yan found a remote corner from where he could see the rehabilitation ward. After confirming that there was no one around, he silently estimated the distance, donned a raincoat to obscure his figure, and put on a mask to hide his face. Then, he opened two Gates of Time and Space simultaneously and sent himself into one of the darkened VIP wards.
It was around 11 p.m., a perfect time to act. The doctors had already done their rounds, and most of the patients were asleep.
Unexpectedly, the patient was a young woman in her twenties, with a beautiful face. She lay quietly on the hospital bed, wide awake, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.
Wang Yan, emerging from the Gate of Time and Space, was startled to see the girl's eyes wide open. He nearly cried out but managed to stifle it.
Wasn't this place supposed to be filled with elderly patients?
Why is there a young person here?
And why on earth is she awake at this hour?
You'll give someone a heart attack!
Do you know that?
Why do accidents keep happening!
Wang Yan felt like he was losing his mind.
The noise in the room startled the girl. She looked at Wang Yan, who had suddenly appeared, and the mysterious Gate of Time and Space behind him. Shocked, she was about to scream but suddenly remembered to cover her mouth, muffling the sound.
The two of them stared at each other, wide-eyed.
Wang Yan quickly tried to calm her down. He raised his index finger to his lips, "Shh, don't scream. I'm here to help you."
The girl nodded vigorously, not daring to remove her hand.
"I'll take you to a fun place, okay?" Wang Yan forced a smile and spoke gently.
Now that he'd been discovered, he had no choice but to take the girl with him. He couldn't erase memories, and killing her wasn't an option!
"Okay," the girl slowly removed her hand from her mouth and asked in a low voice, "Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course! It's a fun place, you'll love it," Wang Yan said as he slowly approached the bed, realizing that the girl couldn't move easily and would need his help to get through the Gate of Time and Space.
In the dim light, Wang Yan's outfit made him look particularly eerie. As he approached, the girl instinctively shrank back, her body trembling slightly. But she resisted the urge to scream and instead asked, "I'm not talking about the place. I mean, can you really cure my illness?"
"Of course," Wang Yan replied seriously.
"Car accident, high paraplegia," the girl trembled as she revealed her condition.
"No problem," Wang Yan said, opening the Gate of Time and Space next to her bed. He then bent down to pick her up, preparing to carry her through the gate.
Facing the mysterious portal, the girl clung tightly to his arm, her voice trembling as she asked, "Will I... be able to come back?"
"Maybe," Wang Yan said, sounding like a wolf kidnapping a lamb. He was vague on purpose and, without giving her a chance to hesitate, he stepped through the Gate of Time and Space, carrying her with him.
