A young girl was crying into the night, her cries were only heard by the creatures of the night. She crawled to her mom's lifeless body and hugged her, praying that her hugs would somehow bring her mom back to life but sadly her fairy-tale prayer didn't work.
Leaving her mom's side, she went over to her dad's body, his blood painting the white blanket of snow crimson red. She hugged him too while crying, no one would want what this 3 year old girl is facing currently, losing both her parent on Christmas to the angel of death.
Her sobs came to a stop when she heard footsteps approaching to the scene of the car accident, a man stopped in front of her and picked her up, cleaning the blood from her forehead, he gave her a pat on her back, "It's all right dear," he looked at her parents bodies on the snow and shook his head, "I have called the ambulance and they are on their way, everything is going to be okay." He whispered into her ear.
A few minutes later the ambulance arrived and carried both her parents' lifeless body away and seeing that sight, the young girl's tears increased.
Still in the man's arms, he carried her to his car, "Savannah, how are you feeling now?" Savannah raised her head from the man's shoulder and stared into his eyes trying to pinpoint where she knows this man from.
The man let out a chuckle, "I'm your Godfather, Uncle Nicholas. I'm a very good friend of your father, we studied together in college and I was with you during your baptism."
Savannah's face contoured in realization of who the man was, "Uncle Nick? What happened to mummy and daddy?" She asked in her little voice."They are in the stars now." He opened the back door and placed her into the car, putting on the seatbelt for her before closing the door and going to the driver's seat.
"Stars?" Savannah asked, " Yeah. Stars" Nicholas answered. "So why didn't they take me with them?" Savannah cried out.
"Scarlet," Nicholas called her by the pet name that was given to her by him, "Everything's is going to be okay, you have me and you also have Christopher. I'm sure he will be happy to see you." He turned around to give her a smile before he turned back to the road and drove off to his house.
