Chapter 17 - New lesson

 I did it!

But my mana sensitivity was very weak. I could barely feel it. But I was glad I did it!

Still, I was worried about the author of these books. Who was he?

I couldn't get that question out of my head.

Later I had a normal day: I had breakfast, went to class, and then it was time to train with weapons.

We spent three months learning history, manuscripts, reading and etiquette. And after all this time, we would be trained in weapons.

We were led to the gun storehouse.

- Listen up! I'm Beck Sullivan, and I'll be your weapons instructor from today. So first of all, I've brought you here to choose the weapon you'd like to master. I recommend that you choose between two or three weapons so that you can see which weapon is right for you.... Choose wisely!

Now it's time to choose your weapons...

Most have taken one-handed swords or spears. Slightly fewer took axes, blades, and two-handed ones. And a minority preferred other types of weapons.

I was attracted to two-handed, one-handed swords with a bow. Two-handed looks cool, one-handed is effective and bow for ranged attacks. I want to master these three weapons.

After everyone had made their choices. Teacher Baek began to give everyone advice on their weapons.

- Top-top... All right! Ari Kate. You have a very interesting choice, but are you sure you can handle it?! I don't think you can handle a two-handed sword. Okay, it's your choice.

"No wonder he said that. While other people are about 172, I'm 165.... But that doesn't mean I'm so weak I can't lift it! And I'm growing up now!" - that's what he was thinking at that moment.

-And now everybody's gonna take turns showing me what I have to deal with.

He was testing what we could do and writing things down on paper.

Among those with whom I study four people stood out: Auror, Antoine, Taras and Sidor.

When they gave me a two-handed sword, I thought it would be heavy, but it wasn't so heavy. I thought I'd easily be among the best, but I didn't know how to use it. Neither did the one-handed sword or the bow. And so, out of 47 people in the class, I got number 23.

After class, I went to my room and continued meditating...

"How could he lift a eleven-kilograms sword so easily...? I didn't think I would find such a strong boy among the servants..."
