Selina paced anxiously in her mansion, worry etched across her face. "I'm sorry, Jake," she murmured, her heart heavy. "But this was the only way to keep you safe. I don't want anything to happen to you. Please forgive me."
At the police station, Jake sat in a small, dimly lit room, frustration boiling within him. "Officers, I have the right to make a phone call," he demanded. An officer uncuffed him and handed him a phone, stating tersely, "You have ten minutes." As the officer left, Jake dialed Selina's number, his heart racing with anger.
"Is this how you repay me, Selina? After everything I did for you?" he snapped.
Her voice crackled through the receiver, calm yet distant. "I sincerely apologize, Jake. This is to keep you safe."
"Safe? I'm locked in a prison, in case that escaped your mind!"
"Trust me, Jake, you are safe. The police are with you. Please, take care of yourself. I can't afford to lose you."
"You already did, Selina," he shot back bitterly.
"My promise still stands. When I'm done, I'll give myself up."
"Goodbye, Selina." He slammed the phone down, cutting off their connection.
Back at the mansion, Selina's phone emitted a sharp beep as the call ended. Distressed, she whispered, "Jake... Hello? Jake?" A wave of determination washed over her. "I have to go see Jake. He was there for me when no one else was. But how will I get to prison without being caught?"
In Helen's house, Richard and Helen were locked in a heated argument. "Where is that stupid maid? Why did you hire her, Helen?" Richard bellowed.
Helen shot back, "Don't even start! You've been blaming me for everything for weeks!"
"Because it's your fault!" he snapped.
As Selina entered, disguised as a maid, she attempted to diffuse the tension. "I'm sorry I'm late. Please don't quarrel."
"Mind your business and get to work!" Richard barked.
"Sure, sir," Selina replied, forcing a smile.
"Get me some juice," Helen demanded.
"And make us lunch," Richard added dismissively.
"Yes, sir and ma'am," Selina said, exiting to the kitchen, leaving the couple to stew in their anger.
Meanwhile, Officer Roberts arrived at Frances's house, concern etched on his face. "Good day, Mrs. Frances. How are you doing?"
"I'm doing well, thank you," Frances replied, though unease lingered in her voice.
Roberts wasted no time. "I came to check on your well-being and hopefully gather some helpful information about Selina."
Frances frowned. "Selina hasn't come to visit since she left the hospital."
"Mr. Richard provided me with her mobile number, but we couldn't track her. Has Selina always been this clever?"
Frances narrowed her eyes. "Excuse me?"
"No offense, but I want to know if Jake has been assisting her."
"Jake? Who's Jake?" Frances asked confused.
"Selina's love interest," Roberts explained.
"I'm not aware of any Jake," she replied dismissively.
Roberts continued, "The kid seems nice. I don't know if he could orchestrate all this."
"Selina told me she works alone," Frances insisted.
"Since she got to Miss Lizzy despite our strong security, we have a lead," Roberts said, his tone serious.
"So?" Frances shot back.
"Selina disguises herself to reach her rivals. Your husband— I mean, Mr. Richard— is under protection."
"You should also protect his mistress," Frances added coolly.
"Yes, we are working on it."
"What about Henry, the doctor?" Frances pressed.
"Let's just say we're on it. Trust me, we'll find your daughter and arrest her without causing her any harm."
"I appreciate your efforts, Officer Roberts. Thank you very much."
"Take care," Roberts said as he exited. Anne emerged from the kitchen.
"Breakfast is ready."
"I told you not to bother, Anne," Frances replied, but they both laughed until Thomas barged in.
"Anne!" he shouted.
"What are you doing here? I told you not to come look for me," Anne retorted.
"Go pack your things because we're going home," Thomas ordered.
Frances intervened, her voice firm. "Listen, young man, I don't blame you, but your parents spoiled you rotten. How dare you barge into my house and speak to Anne that way?"
"Stay out of this, Grandma," Thomas shot back.
"Hey, enough! I won't stand here and watch you insult my mother," Anne declared.
In a sudden move, Thomas grabbed Anne's wrist. "Do not talk back to me when I'm speaking to you. Now, let's go."
"Let go of me, goofball," she protested.
Frances stepped forward. "Let her go!"
But Thomas shoved Frances to the ground, rendering her unconscious. "I'm doing the right thing," he insisted, dragging Anne out of the house as she cried out in fear for her aunt.
the dim light of Helen's house, Selina stood with her phone pressed to her ear, urgency in her voice. "Yes, they are both acting irrationally. Okay, please hurry up." She hung up, a satisfied smile crossing her lips. "My job here is done."
Just then, Richard stormed in, his face flushed with anger. "Hey, get out of my house, you useless maid!"
Unfazed, Selina replied, "I'll come visiting, sir."
"Don't come back; just get out!" he shouted.
With a playful smile, she said, "Oh, I won't come here again. I'll come visiting," and exited, leaving Richard bewildered.
Later, at Frances's house, Frances clutched her head, grunting in pain as she struggled to rise. "Oh, my head," she murmured.
Selina entered cautiously, scanning the house. "I hope Roberts isn't here. Mom?" she called, rushing toward her mother, concern etched on her face.
"Anne... Anne," Frances murmured weakly.
"Mom, what happened? Who did this to you?" Selina asked, her worry palpable.
"No one. I fell and hit my head. Anne is in trouble; help her," Frances insisted.
"I'm taking you to the hospital first," Selina declared, pulling out her phone to call for an ambulance.
Meanwhile, at the police station, Roberts stood before a group of officers, a serious expression on his face. "We should be ready to catch Selina for good. Do you understand?"
Jake, sitting handcuffed, interrupted. "Get me out of here, and I'll help you catch Selina."
"Why would you do that?" Roberts asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because I want Selina to stop all this before she gets hurt," Jake replied earnestly.
"Help us catch her, and we'll release you," Roberts proposed.
"Sure, but I'll sue you for arresting an innocent person," Jake shot back.
Roberts chuckled, "Alright. Deal."
In the hospital, Henry looked up, startled, as Selina burst in.
"S-Selina?" he stammered.
"I'm not here for you. Make sure you treat her. I have a mission to accomplish," she snapped before storming out.
Henry watched her leave, then quickly dialed Roberts. "Hello, Officer. Selina is going after the next person, but I don't know who. Alright." He hung up, urgency evident in his demeanor.
At Thomas's house, tension crackled in the air as Thomas gripped Anne's wrist tightly. "You are going nowhere, okay?"
"You are hurting me, Thomas. Let me go," Anne pleaded, tears welling in her eyes.
Suddenly, Selina burst through the door. "Which one of you pushed my mom?"
"Do you think I am capable of doing that?" Anne retorted.
"Why are you holding Anne like she's your child? Let her go," Selina demanded, her voice low and fierce.
"Get out of my house before you join your mother in the hospital," Thomas threatened.
"So it was you?" Selina accused, pulling out a gun.
"Oh my God," Anne gasped, fear gripping her.
"Any last words, Thomas?" Selina asked, her finger poised on the trigger.
"No, no, no, Selina, no!" Anne cried out, desperation rising.
Thomas snickered. "A gun, really? Do you even know how to shoot?"
"Let's find out," Selina replied coldly.
With a swift motion, she pulled the trigger, shooting Thomas twice. He collapsed to the floor, clutching his wounds.
"Selina!" Anne screamed, horrified.
"See? I really know how to shoot. No one messes with my family," Selina declared, her voice steady.
"No, Thomas. Selina, are you crazy?" Anne exclaimed, kneeling beside Thomas, panic washing over her.
"Yes, bestie. I need help," Selina responded, turning and exiting the room, leaving Anne in despair.
In a nearby psychiatric hospital, Helen and Richard were agitated, yelling at the doctors.
"I am not crazy!" Helen insisted.
"I am not mad!" Richard echoed.
"Will you quiet down? You are making this place rowdy," the psychiatric doctor interjected.
"That's because we are not crazy," Richard argued.
"Selina. Your daughter did this," Helen accused, her voice trembling with anger.
"But how?" Richard questioned, confusion etched on his face.
In the hospital hallway, Henry spoke urgently with Roberts. "She will be back. She said she has a mission to accomplish."
"Are you ready, guys?" Roberts asked, determination in his voice.
"Yes, sir," the officers replied in unison.
Selina entered her mother's hospital room, hurrying to her side. "Those fools are busy looking for me. Mom, are you okay?"
"How can I be okay when you're not? Why are you doing this? Why are you torturing me?" Frances demanded, desperation lacing her voice.
"Not now, Mom. You need to rest," Selina replied curtly.
"I feel like turning you in," Frances insisted, her eyes filled with hurt.
"Go ahead, Mom. You've done that to me before when you decided I was crazy," Selina shot back.
"You stabbed the nuns," Frances said, her voice trembling.
"It was self-defense. They were always hitting me and didn't feed me. I did the chores, I washed their clothes. Isn't that enough to make me change?" Selina argued, frustration bubbling over.
"Change? That should have made you stronger, and you should have been able to stand up for yourself. And you didn't tell me," Frances countered.
"I tried, but you didn't listen. And I am done trying. I killed Thomas, by the way," Selina said bluntly.
"What? Why?" Frances gasped, shock washing over her.
"He won't bother you anymore. Take care of yourself, Mother," Selina replied, turning to leave, leaving Frances in tears.
"Selina, Selina, my love..." Frances whispered, her heart heavy.
In the hospital hallway once more, Selina, now disguised as a police officer, approached Roberts.
"Officer Roberts, I just got a call. Someone murdered Thomas Julius," she announced.
"How come you got the call and I didn't?" Roberts asked, suspicion creeping into his voice.
"Because you are fired. I am the chief of police, and this is your sack letter," Selina said, handing him a letter.
"I was transferred here to solve a case, and I work under a man," Roberts replied, bewildered.
"Fine, you caught me. Bye, Officer Roberts," Selina said, slipping past him hurriedly.
"Officers, that was Selina. Let's go!" Roberts ordered, urgency in his tone.
The officers quickly followed, determined to apprehend her.
Outside the hospital, Selina, out of breath, made a quick call. "Jake, meet me at my mansion. I am sorry. Okay, we will talk when we meet. Bye."
