Thomas's father stormed through the police station, his anger palpable as he paced back and forth, his face flushed. The officer behind the desk tried to maintain a calm demeanor, urging him to settle down.
"Calm down, sir," the officer said.
"Calm down?" Thomas's father snapped. "My son has just been murdered by that psycho! Where is your boss?"
Just then, Officer Roberts entered briskly, taking in the tense scene.
"What's going on here? Oh, Mr…"
"I want you to find that girl and bring her to me, dead or alive—but I want her alive," Thomas's father demanded, his voice rising.
Roberts attempted to interject. "We're doing our best to—"
"Put more effort into it!" Thomas's father interrupted, his frustration boiling over. "If you fail to catch her, I'll sue every officer here for negligence in a murder case."
"Sir, you have to—"
"You have two weeks. Put more effort into catching her and bring her to me. I don't joke about my family." With that, he stormed out, leaving a heavy silence in his wake.
Roberts shook his head, exasperated. "Wow. Rich people think they can buy the world."
"Sir, Selina is at her mansion. The device we used to track her indicates she's there," the officer said.
"Good. Let's move, Officers," Roberts commanded, ready for action.
In Selina's mansion, Jake stood uneasily, glancing around as Selina approached, concern etched on her face.
"I don't know what I'm doing here after what you did to me, but I'll pretend to listen," Jake said, crossing his arms.
"Do you hate me that much?" Selina pleaded. "Jake, I set you up to protect you because I knew you'd try to stop me."
"You don't want me to stop you?" Jake shot back.
"I don't want you to get hurt. Jake, you're more than a friend to me; I can't lose you."
"Then for my sake, give up."
"I wish I could," Selina replied, desperation in her voice.
"You can, Selina. You just don't want to."
"I've gone too far to stop now. Do you know that I'm almost done with my mission?"
"Do you think I'll accept you after everything? Stop now, or you'll lose me forever."
Selina stepped closer, her eyes searching his. "Are you working for them?"
"What are you talking about?" Jake replied, confused.
Selina swiftly dipped her hand into his pocket, pulling out a tracking device. Her expression hardened. "Wow, Jake, just wow. Who's the traitor now?"
"What are you saying? I was never working for you."
"But you were with me."
"No. I was helping you when you were still good, but not anymore."
"But… Jake."
"It's over, Selina. The police will be here any minute."
Selina fell to the ground, tears streaming down her face. "I was so close, but you… I despise you, Jake. You're just like the others, bullying and lying to me."
"You're more like them than I am."
"I promised you that I'd turn myself in."
"This isn't a game, Selina. We're talking about human lives."
"But I wasn't like this before. They changed me."
"You changed, Selina. It was your decision."
"Don't you love me anymore?"
"I don't know because I fell in love with the sweet and nice Selina, not you."
Tears continued to fall from Selina's eyes as she gazed at him. "I still love you, Jake."
"Don't cry, please." Jake moved forward and enveloped her in a comforting embrace.
"Why did you hurt me like this, Jake?"
"I don't want you to get hurt either. If the cops get here and you don't surrender, they might hurt you. I don't want to lose you too, Selina. I love you."
"But I might stay in prison for life."
"That won't happen, I promise."
"Thanks, Jake. Let me go wash off."
"Alright," he said, watching her leave, a storm of emotions brewing within him.
In the bathroom, Selina's expression turned resolute. "Dress up and go to the living room. I am out," she commanded a maid who entered at her call.
The maid quickly changed into Selina's clothes and left for the living room. Seizing the moment, Selina slipped out through a window, evading detection.
At a nearby restaurant, Sophia and Michael enjoyed a cozy meal in a corner booth.
"Yummy," Sophia exclaimed, savoring her food.
"I know, right?" Michael replied with a grin.
"Michael, my food is more delicious."
"Hmm, true."
They both laughed, soaking in their moment of joy. Suddenly, Selina entered, carrying three glasses of wine, disguised as a detective. She approached their table with a confident stride.
"Sorry for disturbing the new couple," she said with a sly smile.
"And you are?" Sophia asked, eyeing her curiously.
"Samantha Devil," Selina replied smoothly.
"Devil?" Michael echoed, raising an eyebrow.
"My father's name, not mine," Selina quipped.
"Funny," Sophia said, intrigued.
"Hi, here, it's on me," Selina said, placing the glasses on their table.
"Thanks, but we can't accept anything from strangers," Sophia replied, cautious.
"Stranger? I am a detective. Sam Devil," Selina insisted.
"Detective?" Michael repeated, skeptical.
"Not a murder case but a murderer case. I'm here for Selina."
"Sorry, but we aren't Selina," Sophia replied.
"I know, but you know her, don't you?" Selina pressed.
"Yes, we knew her. Is she dead?" Sophia asked, glancing at Michael.
"We all wish for that," Michael added, sharing a laugh with Sophia.
Selina chuckled lightly. "Is she that annoying that her friends would wish death on her?"
"Friends?" Michael scoffed. "We were her bosses in school."
"Really? Let me hear the story," Selina encouraged, her curiosity piqued.
An hour later, after listening intently to their tales, Sophia concluded, "She was a stupid crybaby."
They all burst into laughter.
"She was stupid indeed," Selina agreed.
"I almost killed her when I pushed her in the snake pit," Michael recalled, chuckling darkly.
"Yes, we wanted to get rid of her," Sophia added, sharing in the cruel.
Selina lifted her glass, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Drink?"
Michael grinned, leaning back in his chair. "I guess you're not a stranger anymore, Sam."
"Yeah," Sophia added, her interest piqued.
"To catching Selina," Selina declared, and they clinked their glasses together in a toast before sipping their drinks.
As laughter filled the air, Selina's expression shifted, becoming more serious. "So, do you regret the horrible things you did to her?"
"Why would we?" Michael replied, his brow furrowing.
Sophia scoffed, "She was a wuss."
Selina's smile turned sly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Then that wuss doesn't regret poisoning your drinks."
Both Michael and Sophia stared at her, bewildered. "What?"
In one fluid motion, Selina produced a handkerchief, wiped off her makeup, and removed her wig, revealing her true identity. "Hi, classmates. Long time no see."
Sophia's eyes widened in shock. "It's her, you witch!"
"You'll pay for this," Michael sputtered, but his bravado quickly faded as he suddenly collapsed to the floor, gasping for air.
"No! Michael, I don't want to die!" Sophia cried, panic rising in her voice. "Selina, I'm sorry! Please give me the antidote!"
Unfazed, Selina handed her another glass of wine. "Here."
"Nooo... please, Selina, please... I don't want to die!" Sophia begged, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Moments later, Sophia crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
Selina shrugged, a cruel smile spreading across her face. "It was the antidote, stupid. I guess she didn't need it. Henry and Joe, I'm coming for both of you. It might be tricky with the police protecting them, but just kidding—nothing is difficult for the new Selina."
With a triumphant grin, Selina turned and exited, leaving chaos and confusion in her wake.
