Synopsis
Jordan Lin was originally a very ordinary doctor in Orlando, just another victim of Asian Tiger-Parenting in 21st Century America. Growing up, he had dreamt of joining the NBA and bringing the Orlando Magic to 7 consecutive titles. Why 7? Because Michael Jordan brought the Chicago Bulls 6 titles. And being a true blue Asian, he couldn’t accept being 2nd best, even if it was to the Greatest Of All Time. Alas, his par- ehm, life intervened, and at age 28, he found himself as a doctor/director in his best friend’s Pharmaceutical Company. However, Jordan Lin was tragically framed by his best friend in a corporate scandal, and he was accidentally killed in the process! Unable to accept his death, Jordan Lin rebelled against fate! He unleashed his secret inner powers and summoned the elemen - just kidding. He yelled! He screamed! He cursed! But he still died in the end. In the end? Actually, no. It wasn’t the end. It turned out to be just the beginning. Jordan Lin woke up and found himself in a parallel world! It’s still Earth, and it was still the same era. But where were the celebrities he knew? Where was the GOAT Michael Jordan!? Where was Lionel Messi? Denzel Washington? Barack Obama? Heck, even the songs were all different! And the brands! Where’s Amazon? Google? Tesla?? Armed with the incredibly potent knowledge of his previous world and a ridiculously overpowered System, Jordan Lin was ready to take on the world! Basketball Superstar? Showbiz Superstar? Billionaire Superstar? I’ll be them all! I am a… HYPERSTAR!

Chapter 1 - The Game Begins

"This court finds Jordan Lin guilty on all counts. He is hereby sentenced to 100 years prison!" The corrupt judge slammed the gavel down and sealed his fate.

"I am innocent! I am innocent! I joined the company TWO months ago, how can I be liable for the crimes committed for the past fifteen years? I was still in Junior High School then!" Jordan Lin screamed with all his strength even as he stared at the three judges with his eyes bulging out in supreme horror.

He was in complete outrage, and his anger burned within him like an unquenchable inferno. At the same time, a tidal wave of despair crashed over him.

How could this happen? Jason said this was just a formality! Guilty on all counts? 100 years prison? Impossible. Impossible. There must be a mistake somewhere! This is impossible!

Jason... He framed me. Oh my god!

"It was Jason! He invited me to be the CEO two months ago! He did it. It was him! Not me!" Jordan Lin shrieked desperately at the three judges.

However, all he got in return were merely cold smirks from all three corrupt judges.

In his heightened emotional state, their gray hair, ugly, pockmarked wrinkled faces and their crisp black red judge gowns seared themselves into his mind like a firebrand upon a maiden's smooth skin.

"I am innocent! You can't do this to an innocent man. You can't. My parents are terminally ill! They need me to take care of them!"

But it was useless.

It was a closed court, there were no journalists to make his case viral.

With the judges being completely bought by his employer- no, his EX-employer, the case was closed just like that.

You think such blatantly evil court cases do not exist in modern America?

They do exist. In fact, they are everywhere.

As of five seconds ago, Jordan Lin was a convicted criminal, and faced a lifetime jail sentence for corruption, bribery, blackmail, insider trading and even murder.

All of which he did not commit.

Two burly guards grabbed his thin shoulders, forcefully pulled his hands behind his back.

With a careless swing of his hand, the first guard cuffed Jordan Lin's neck heavily before dragging him down from the stand.

"You will regret this. God will not stay silent! He will curse you. He will curse you and your family! All of you! ALL OF- oof!"

One of the guards punched Jordan Lin in his stomach and knocked the air out of his lungs.

"Shout again, and I will break your ribs." He snarled at Jordan Lin evilly.

"Just break it." The other guard said with a laugh. "He won't live past tonight anyway. He's a loose end."

The first guard grinned, and slammed his fist onto Jordan Lin's chest.

Bam! Crack!!

3 of his left ribs broke.

He had no idea if he was unfortunate, or if God was showing him mercy, but the guard punched Jordan Lin so hard that one of his broken ribs somehow punctured his heart.

Splat.

His lifeblood poured out of his heart and into… well. Everywhere.

And when the blood flow reached his lungs, Jordan Lin began to choke in his own blood.

"Damn it, you fool. We still need him to face the press before he can die!" Jordan Lin's old friend and ex-employer, Jason Green roared in anger and pushed that first guard away. "Call the paramedics. Now!"

"Yes boss!" The first guard grimaced heavily at the fatal mistake he just made and immediately ran off to find the paramedic stationed nearby.

"Shit. It looks serious. What a clusterf*ck. Talk to him, Jason! Keep him conscious until the paramedics arrive." One of the pockmarked judges ordered from the distance.

"Jordan, don't you die on me. Stay alive! Think of your mother. If you can live until after the press conference, I will make sure she lives a good life. I will even pay for your nephew's education all the way till university! He's what, five? Six years old? That's fourteen years of education. How's that, eh? Hey! Jordan!"

Piak! Piak!

Seeing that Jordan Lin was slowly losing consciousness, Jason Green slapped him several times, hard.

Fresh blood spurted out of Jordan Lin's mouth and his body went limp.

"Stay with me you bastard! If you die now, I will make sure your parents follow you into the afterlife! I will personally strangle them to death. Jordan! JORDAN LIN!!" Jason Green roared in panic.

However, it was for naught.

Jordan Lin's vision started to dim, and as his life flashed before him, he couldn't help but break down and cry.

There were so many things that I still needed to do… So many people I still wanted to see… So many words I still wanted to say…

Mother, Father… I'm sorry… Your useless son will leave first… I…

Jordan Lin's eyes shot open and his heart pounded powerfully within his chest.

BA-DUMP!

BA-DUMP!

The remnants of the emotions he felt before he died swirled powerfully within his heart.

"Huh? I am not dead?" Jordan Lin looked down and touched his ribs gingerly, wincing slightly in anticipation of pain.

But… Nothing.

His ribs were still intact!

He looked around him and immediately recognized his surroundings.

He was in his old bedroom in Orlando back when he was in high school!

"I'm back home? Is this a dream? Or did I just wake up from a dream?" He thought aloud.

But as he checked his memories which flooded his mind in vivid detail and felt the deep emotions of fear, hatred and anger, he knew for certain that he did not just wake up from a dream.

No way.

But if that life wasn't a dream, then…
